I was a customer for probably 10 years. It was ok service but I did notice that the maybe 4 times over 3 years the alarm was accidently tripped it took them several minutes to call. I'm writing this review because I've seen the other comments regarding difficulty cancelling. I called to cancel and was told to send a cancellation notice in writing which could be done by email. I did that and got an auto reply back seeming to suggest that I need to provide them the new homeowner's details if I was selling, or my account would not be cancelled. I wrote them back and told them that I would not be giving them anyone else's personal details. I asked to please do as instructed and cancel my account as I have no active contract and I'm under no obligation to do anything but inform them I'm cancelling. I then get a regular mail notification saying that I needed to call them regarding my account. Around that time I saw that they had billed me again. Long story short from here. I contacted my bank and put a block on any further payments and requested a refund on the most recent payment that occurred after I cancelled. My bank investigated and I got the refund. I called them again tonight to make sure its cancelled and they say it is. We'll see. read more

I feel I was deceived by the sales person who lead me to believe he was with Vivint my current security company at the time and that he knew my contract was ended. By the time I was ready to sign found out he was SafeHome but I signed. I found out my contract with Vivint was still current but by that time it was too late to cancel! I will not provide a star because your agency is not worthy and your system lacks integrity. You knew from the notes that the technician left in the file in March, 2026 that he was unable to locate the alarm that was going off in the home. The technician left my home without further instruction or care. I hired another company, ADT to locate and remove the alarm. I phone and left a message with a "Princess," to discontinue services. I emailed the company requesting discontinuation of their services, yet money was taking from the account for the months of March, April, and May. I was then told a contract was signed and a letter is necessary. I no longer need your service. I have a company that send a technician to correct the repair needed in the home. read more

re: Safe Home Security...caveat emptor, VERY caveat!! A few weeks ago we had our previous, 20-yr old hard-wired system replaced with a new wireless one (2GIG) monitored by SHS. The cost was several thousand $$'s. Ever since we have had nothing but TROUBLE! "Low battery" signals on 2 sensors, "Not under supervision" on a third sensor. Loss of wireless contact on a 4th sensor. Although SHS's warranty covers these problems (for now), each event requires that I take a day off work to stay home and wait for the service tech to come (4 times now over a span of ~8 weeks). Moreover, until the tech can schedule a visit (usually ~1 to 2 weeks), our house has no functional alarm. A further, though admittedly less fatal flaw, is that all the sensors (especially the glass break sensor) are large and ugly. The glass break sensors look like enormous mushrooms growing on the wall! Check out the 2GIG website to see these sensors before committing, and better yet, check out an installer/monitoring company other than SHS. read more

My camera would notify me "Someone at the door" and when I click on it in the app, it would almost inevitably fail to load or would wait a significant time and fail to load. After not being informed that there was not a cancellation policy despite a "cancelation department" I called into Customer Service where the Company really dropped the ball. After being on hold for no less than 1 Hour and 11 minutes, I finally got to speak with Isabella in Cancellation. What a treat. The worst customer service I have ever received. Huge attitude with a smart mouth that basically told me to kick rocks and everything was my fault. She was nice enough to inform me that the only way out of my service was to buy out the rest of the contract. A cool $3000+. Thanks Isabella. BUYER BEWARE. Don't take it from me - you will find widespread abysmal reviews on Safehome Security on the BBB website, Yelp, and Google Reviews. My father passed away. We spoke with "Hope" to try to get the system functioning while the house was empty and being put on the market. That failed. So we requested service cancellation (provided death certificate) and they quoted the contract that my DEAD FATHER SIGNED. My father's death was unexpected so we dealt with many companies and organizations that he had subscriptions or contracts with. Not a single other institution or company forced a contract to be paid out. We were charged monthly through April of 2026; he died in January of 2025. We sold the house in Nov of 25 and provided proof and still got billed. I was told that all actions take 90 days to process. Other companies from Verizon, to USAA, to the pest control company not only cancelled services but often wrote off costs. This company and leadership should be ashamed of themselves. The reviews document mistreatment of vulnerable populations such as older adults and disabled Veterans by this company. The last person i spoke to in April got rude with me and said that i should thank them for not continuing to charge us because my DECEASED FATHER'S contract was actually through 2027. Disgusting company with revolting ethics. The reviews for Safe Home Security insight anger then sadness that the owners and employees profit from unreasonable contracts. This group struggles with customer service and is very difficult to deal with. They are unhelpful and often try to upsell you into committing to long contracts that are hard to get out of. I spoke to at least 5 to 7 different employees, and all were rude and unprofessional. Additionally, the product doesn't work well--it frequently cuts off and has ongoing issues that I have to reconfigure myself since their customer service is only available during work hours, which I can't access. Their service is horrible, and I haven't been able to use their product for over a year or two. I also found out that they increase the monthly payment by 5% every so often without informing customers. Please steer clear of this group. read more

I was told they were working with ADT offering an alarm system upgrade free of cost. My son wanted to get the system with Safe Home because we received a Ring camera free of charge. We were not given a copy of the contract at any point after I signed off on the hand-installation of the equipment. It was a 5-year contract, and I thought a copy would come in the mail, but it didn't. In year 4 my son wanted to go back to ADT and didn't realize we had another year with Safe Home. Our only option was to pay for the remaining year in full or stick it out for a year. I confirmed this with a representative. I was never told that we would need to request to cancel in writing 60 days prior to the end of the contract or the contract would automatically be extented for another 5 years. Two months before the contract was set to expire, I called Safe Home and was told that I had to submit the cancellation request in writing within 30 days of renewal. I asked if I could send an email and told "no" it had to be postal delivery. I wrote a letter and sent it certified mail but it was received after 30 days. I then spoke with a different representative who informed me that the contract would be extended until 2027. I spoke with a different representative, and she stated that it should have been received within 60 days of the renewal. I also asked why I never received a copy of the contract, and she stated she would email it to me. I signed for the system, paid the bill for 4-years with autopay, but when the contract was received it had my son's name on it and he never signed anything. When I asked her how that could be she said that she didn't know. She also stated that we didn't have a contract with them, but my son's account is still being charged, and we don't even have a system, so nothing is being monitored. We inherited Safe Home Security as a home security provider after Toll Brothers sold the service to the company. They make you sign a contract for five years. Our alarm has had an error message of "cable detected" for months. This results in random, faulty alarms that go off sometimes in the middle of the night. You can imagine how startling this must be, especially for four children under the age of eight. The company does not call back promptly, as other companies we have been with have done. It took them weeks to schedule an appointment, only for them to cancel the appointment the day of. This company treats customers as an entitlement program. Once you are under contract, service is apparently discretionary. The customer service representative, who is part of the retention department, did not provide solutions. She just wanted to argue and continually talk over me and my wife, and keep reiterating that we had a contract. What is the point of a retention department other than to argue with customers rather than provide a solution? Look at the other comments about how rude and unprofessional the staff has been. It was too much to ask for the company to do its job. There needs to be a law to limit the duration of these contracts. You can't hold customers hostage by expecting them to pay and not provide the service that we pay for and rely upon to protect our family. An absolutely miserable experience. read more

Avoid Safe Home Security, Inc. at all costs - this company is a scam. I signed up with them years ago for a system with 5 sensors, including a motion sensor I was explicitly told would not be triggered by my dogs. From day one, it caused nightly false alarms. A technician later confirmed the problem could not be fixed and advised me to cancel, which I did in 2022. I have not armed or used the system since. Despite that, Safe Home has continued charging me monthly. When I called, I was told "it sucks that it happened" and offered either to buy new equipment or lock myself into a new 3-year contract with a "3 months off" deal. Completely unacceptable. I asked for a full refund of charges since cancellation, written confirmation my account was closed, and assurance they would stop billing me. Instead, I opened a BBB case, and their only response was to push more equipment and a new contract. They refused to take ownership of their faulty installation, refused to issue a refund, and hid behind their "we require written cancellation" excuse. This company is a predatory operation. They install equipment that doesn't work, then trap customers in contracts and continue billing even after cancellation. Well, I can understand why they only get one star. We purchased a toll brothers home and they used Safe Home Security. We went with the company and have been using them for 4 years. We received an email from them that we had a low battery signal. I asked for a service tech to come out to replace the battery and install 2 cameras. I prepaid for the equipment and never heard from them. I realized they do not have techs in our city and they were looking for a reputable tech to service us, I called today and to see why no one had called me. They became very indignant. I told them I wanted my money back $700, they said no. These people need to be sued and Toll Brothers shouldn't use them anymore. Very upsetting. I would give a zero if I could. This company has huge customer service issues. In my previous home I had them for 5 years and when I decided to sell the house thinking the 5 year contract was up, they found a way to say that because I contacted their technician for repairs at some point, the contract got extended for 5 more years, and I couldnt get out, or I would have to pay 2 years of fee to get out. What the hell!!? They said dont worry, we can transfer your service to the new home at no additional cost. $3k later with non-stopping last minute fees, I have a downgraded service and devices from Alarm.com, and got yelled by the technician Scott in my own home for complaining the keypad was crooked. The technician also lost my second keypad in his second visit, and blamed us, so I had to pay $200 for it again. I am trying to call customer service to resolve the issue for months now, and no response, and I am stuck to a ridiculous 5 year contract. They will swindle you into renewing your contract for an additional 5 years without you ever even knowing it. I never agreed to renew my contract. They confirmed my rate with me and somehow I was locked into another 5 years. After realizing this, they made it impossible for me to cancel my service. Customer Service Representatives give various e-mail addresses to contact in order to cancel, yet I've never received a response. When I follow-up via phone, they claim they have no documentation of any attempts I have made to cancel. I have now been directed to send a letter expressing my intent to cancel in writing. The worst company ever. My system has not been active for over three years. Called for service when the alarm kept going off every few minutes This was August 2021. The person on the phone told my son how to disconnect it and they could not come out for two weeks. No call no show. Called no response. I paid bill thru December and then stopped my auto pay and wrote letter to cancel explaining why. They continued to bill me. I have written three letters and I am still being billed. They also extended my contract saying I signed an extension on January 12, 2022. They forged my initials as that was the day my daughter passed away! I did not talk or sign anything that day. Class action suit anyone??? As others have said, SCAM ALERT! Had been with this company for many years because we couldn't get out! FORCED UPGRADE $$$ or they could not "effectively monitor" our home with their outdated system that they themselves installed only 4 years before, so if we wanted to continue with having security we were required to "upgrade" right after contract period ends. Relocated and gave them notice, but $2000 to get out of contract. I told my husband would rather pay the mafia fee and give them $2000 to go away than to work with them. Oh and if your system doesn't work, which has happened many times, expect to WAIT WEEKS to fix the problem. Once waited a month for them to come out to repair with no alarm service during that time. Given NO credit for not delivering on their service but still had to pay. Plus they sometimes have creepy people that come out to fix the system. Stay away from this company. They have unethical business practices and try to blame the customers for their lack of services and competency. I tried canceling my service with them for the past year and now owe over $750. Oh, and it still has not been canceled. They stated we could not cancel over the phone and that an email needed to be sent; however, when we did that, somehow, they never received it to this day. The reason for cancelation is that there was no response every time the alarm went off (Call back). I went an entire month without service because the panel had an issue, and the motion detection kept giving a low battery error. They could not get a technician out because they had a limited number of them, and I had to wait until I got a callback. I was with the company for over 5 years, and for 5 years, I had poor service. To make matters worse, they said my wife signed a five-year extension with them for a 10% discount. Wow, that's longer than a car loan. Good luck, stay away. You have been warned. read more

I have had the system for several years and have had bad service. It seems they don't have many technicians in Oregon! It was down for several months and they won't credit me. Now, I'm moving and, after 4 phone calls, I still don't have a date to move the system to my new home, which is only a few blocks away. They made ME take all the equipment down. They also are making me hold to the contract but are saying it's a new contract, not a continuation, just because it's a different address. A VERY frustrating company to deal with. read more

After some investigation, I also found out that this company conducted a credit check without my knowledge or approval. I also found out that they do not have a license in the State of Maryland to even have customers here in the state which is fraud. Please check their contract before signing because it states very clearly on my contract after looking at the small print that they do not monitor your equipment for failure, it's up to the customer to do all of that. It states at the bottom of the contract No monitoring in one section but it states in another section on top of the contract that they list if monitoring fails by an act of God they are not responsible. This is very misleading. It's a con company! Stay away from them. They ding my credit pretty bad. The VP who I spoke with will not budge even after all the information I have sent him. I mean I have tons of information about this including closing my bank account and notifying them I could not reach the website to update the new bank information. I never updated it because of those reasons. He still will not lift this off my credit. Once I get the official document about their license in Maryland I will post it. Just be careful! I would select zero stars if I could. have everything I can to get out of contract and cannot. I pay 50$ a month for two cameras (WiFi) with batteries. and monitoring. I was told if I ever have problems with cameras they replace them. 6 months in the camera lens fell off. 1 year in the battery's wouldn't last longer than 1 day. I called to have them replaced and was told I didn't pay for the insurance and that was 20$ a month extra. the cameras they gave me were cheap garbage for 35$ on Amazon. if anyone is reading this just remember you can buy quality cameras and put them on WiFi you don't need a company like this. Scam...door to door salesman who was barely out of high school tried to pressure my mother into signing up with them. When she said she was planning to use ADT he kept pressing. I looked into this company, it turns out the don't provide any security, they purchase their equipment off Amazon and don't guarantee it at all and apparently charge nearly double what they tell their customers they would be charged. Unethical, Arrogant, Abusive, Entitled, of a middleman (to Alarm.com) company who add zero value to your home security. I would run miles away from this company If I am looking for home security. My home security from Toll Brothers Security (TBS) somehow ended up with this company and I had not noticed it until recently when the equipment started having issues. I am now trying to have it terminated and so far this company is refusing to terminate my service even though my contract (originally signed with TBS) expired years ago. Talking to them over phone (4x) has not helped. They spend more time talking than terminating the service because it is easy money. Reading reviews only makes me depressed for not taking action sooner. Unprofessional customer support to talk to - have no manners or ethics. I just want to terminate my service and I don't owe them any reason. They don't respond, provide any written communication. There support tickets does say they will follow-up shortly and after four days and 3 support tickets, nothing. Terrible way to do business in this day and age. Almost 2 months later, after I cancelled, and sent in a "cancellation request" -- they told me to write a word doc and state that I want to cancel, which I did, and I'm still getting billed! This initially contact was with Jaleea (2 months ago). They initially said it may take up to 30 days to process, then I just called them right now to see what's going on, and now "Rebecca" is saying it takes 60 DAYS to cancel..... for a service I DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE!! I haven't been on contract forever! I've had them for 8 years, and I've been month-to-month for over 5 years!! and I still can't cancel!! (and for the past 1.5 years or so, they said my system isn't even communicating with PD, FD, etc.!) So I was paying for a service that wasn't being rendered. Then when I told Rebecca thats not what Jaleea told me (as I have email proof--since I had to email a word doc statement), she "transfers" me, and no one ever picks up after.... waited for over 30 minutes to talk to someone, but it never happened and went to a survey instead!!!! I have been a Safe Home Security customer since 2015, always paying on time. My system stopped working in November 2019, and despite repeated calls, Safe failed to fix it. They sent a technician, Michael, who stated he needed to order a new radio card and would return to complete the repair, but he never did. In May 2021, I was promised free repairs, two free months, and no charges if I signed a new contract. I agreed, but the system remained faulty. Despite my numerous calls for assistance, no one ever came out to complete the repairs. Each time I contacted customer service, I was repeatedly told that someone would call me back, but no follow-up ever happened. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on October 4, 2021, a representative finally responded, assuring me they would fix the issue. However, they refused to release me from my contract, claiming it was too new--even though I had signed under false pretenses. The representative also promised to remove the delinquency from my credit report he did a e-OSCAR. A technician eventually came out in December 2021, but the system failed again after only two weeks. The same technician returned five months later, in May 2022, and the system only worked for a week. I stopped payments, and Safe Home Security falsely reported my balance as a personal loan on my credit report, causing my score to drop. Later, they changed it to a loan, which resulted in my credit score plummeting by 112 points. I never received a loan from this company, making this not only inaccurate but highly deceptive and damaging to my financial standing. I am beyond frustrated with this company's constant lies and deception. I have had to argue with multiple representatives, each making promises they never kept. Their business tactics are misleading and dishonest, and I am exhausted from dealing with their deceptive practices. In February 2025, Head of the Sales Department, admitted that the company was wrong and had failed me on multiple occasions. He acknowledged that Safe Home Security had consistently dropped the ball, making repeated mistakes that left me without service while continuing to bill me. He offered a "Fresh Start" program: pay $350, remove the credit report, fix the system, and extend my contract for another three years. I refused to keep being deceived. As the other reviews say, they are the worst!! Somehow we got hooked up with them and have had them for like a decade and yet we still have a contract. Our carbon monoxide detector quit working and started beeping and changing batteries wouldn't shut it up. At the same time the panel numbers quit working so we could no longer turn off the alarm at the panel. Had an issue before and took months to finally have someone call and walk me through fixing it myself!! For these current issues they say their technician only comes Fridays. What kind of business has service only on Fridays?? I'm counting the days until this contract is over and I can get rid of these people. But sounds like that might be easier said than done from the other reviews. read more

Safe Home Security's entire business model is built on fraud. They lock you in with a misleading contract and then exploit the credit system to ensure you keep paying them until they finally say that you have satisfied the terms. Two states have already successfully sued them for misleading and defrauding consumers - hopefully more will follow suit. For now don't do business with them. I'm went thru a divorce, and you know that is already stressful but to top it off this company Safe Home Security will not release my name from this agreement. Per my divorce decree it is in the court order he is responsible. I sent the divorce decree papers to them and this lady in their collections department was so unbelievably rude and had no sympathy at all or even cared about this and said I signed it, and I have to pay it. I'm not even in the house anymore and have not been since July 31, 23. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they only care about getting their monthly monitoring fee. I really wish these corporations would look at each person's needs and help them as they know they can but choose not to help. Profits over people and these companies only care about their profits and not their people. They are the only company that did this to me during the divorce and I would think a divorce decree stating he is now responsible would satisfy them??? WOW!
