The beautiful pool at Safari Inn.

We are so glad we stayed here this weekend for the Lincoln County Fair. Owners are so accommodating, the pool is great (esp appreciated on 95 degree days) and all the clean amenities make for a very comfortable stay. Thank you owners, Stanley and Stella!

Lovely little hotel. It is hard to impress my wife when you're talking about cleaning, but this room met her standards! It is a pet-friendly establishment, and our dog enjoy his day as well. Be aware that there's a $10 pet fee, that doesn't show up on the website. The owner was very nice about it and I had no problem paying it. The rims are not large, but everything is well-maintained including the microwave, refrigerator, and TV. It was great to be able to take a dip in the pool, to cool off. The dog and I went for several walks around the neighborhood and the heritage museum is right up the street.

Stopped here last night after driving through a crazy snowstorm. It was after midnight and we were just relieved to find a place to stop for the night. But it was an unexpected delight! The room was a retro-lover's dream come true, perfectly clean and well-maintained. It took us back to the good old days, and fascinated our daughter, especially the groovy light switches. We also appreciated the free continental breakfast, which went until 10 am. Love these mom and pop places, they are much more interesting and charming than the chain hotels.

    Somewhat dated, but spotless.

Stayed here one night with my two dogs. All of the motels near the interstate have inside corridors, which are a pain when one is traveling with pets. It was great to find this place, where I could back my vehicle right up to the door. The motel is older, but well maintained. I got the impression that the women at the front desk is also the owner and lives on-sit. She told me she is originally from Poland - which explains why the place was spotless. I'd definitely stay here again.

A Jackalope at the check-in desk AND the local's favorite pub and grub right across the street? I'm in!

She also said if I decided I was hungry that there was yogurt and would even get me something from the kitchen... Would check what she could do. She was soooooooo sweet. It's the little things that turn out to be huge when reflecting on your stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The towels were fine... Not the biggest and fluffiest but definitely not chinsey!! We're pretty easy to please. :) Breakfast was good. They had waffles *and* sugar free syrup so my husband was happy. There was hot food and fresh fruit. Everything was clean. Miss Wanda definitely should be commended. We loved her.

They also had scrambled eggs, hash browns with sausage mixed in & toast. We had a ground floor accessible room with 2 queen beds. Price was $85.00 per night. We will definitely stay here again!

I honestly can't remember the last time I had a worse experience checking into a hotel. I've stayed at this hotel a couple times before when working in Limon and in my previous two experiences there was a really nice lady working the front desk. So just to be clear this review is solely for the miserable witch working tonight. Insanely bad attitude. The type of person who is so miserable that she has to make everyone around her miserable too. I had just come off a long, difficult 12-hr work day and had to endure this person's condescending BS. I told her I had a dog and politely asked if I could get a room on the first floor. She rudely told me that "ALL pet friendly rooms are on the first floor SIR!" With an emphasis on sir like it was meant to be an insult. I've stayed in many hotels where pets were allowed on all floors. But whatever. I brushed it off. I asked her if she might have a menu for the only nearby restaurant across the street, as hotels often do. Another extremely rude response. I was really tired so brushed it off again. I politely asked her if I could get two room keys. "I ALWAYS make two keys SIR!" I replied that I've been living on the road for two years and a lot of hotels only want to give a guest one key. She grumbles and then she actually proceeds to explain to me how to use a freaking hotel key! Like what?! Haha. "The key goes in the door upside down. This is why I put the keys in the envelope upside down so guests know how to use them." In this slow condescending voice while pointing to the key cards as if she's talking to a 5 year old. I'm like wtf?! Do you seriously feel the need to explain to guests how to use a simple key card? I mean the card has an arrow on it telling you which way to insert it. (See pic below). But this miserable wench only did it to try and make me feel stupid. And literally SECONDS after just telling her I've been living out of hotels for two years, including dozens of Quality Inns (no kidding). I wanted to cuss her out but didn't want to deal with having to book another hotel in the area because I knew she was hoping for a reaction so she could cancel my reservation. Then I'd be SOL because there's only one other hotel within a 60 mile radius that allows dogs. I was not going to give her that satisfaction so I just kept my mouth shut. Sorry about the long review but don't book here. If you don't have pets there are three other nicer hotels in the immediate area (oh yeah the rooms here are crappy, moldy and old af). I will never stay at this hotel again after my experience with this horrible person. I'll drive another two hours even after a 12-hr work day. No thanks

Even with the pillow there, it was a restless uncomfortable night. I got up 5 times before giving up trying to sleep at 6 am. The threshold into the bathroom was raised and I caught my foot on the sharp straight metal. I didn't hit it hard, but if I had been moving faster, it would have cut me like a potato peeler. Breakfast was supposed to be served from 6-9 according to the information folder in our room, but a sign in the breakfast area said 6-8. We got there at 6:45 and the only food offered were small chocolate chip muffins and those miniature chocolate donuts- individually wrapped in plastic wrap, a few granola bars, juice and coffee. That's it. No fruit, no yogurt, no cheese sticks, no toast or bagels, even though there was a toaster. All the meager dried out stale offerings were gone by 7 am with no more offered. I forgot to mention the giant hole in the wall behind the entrance door of our room. Seems like a simple doorstop would have prevented that. I tried to tell the man running the place about the issues, but he just said"okay, thank you, I'll check" before I had even finished describing the problems. Seems like he has insincerely said that a few times- he clearly didn't care. I am all for saving money, but you'd have to have some sort of subconscious self loathing to stay at this place after reading all the reviews. I know I owe myself an apology.

When I inquired of a room location that was nearby to where my bike would park, Peter immediately showed me "the best security camera parking spot", which happened to be where he parks his car ... and without hesitation he moved his car and asked me to park my bike there - AND - confirmed the staff would keep any eye on it all night long. And it was untouched until I loaded up and headed out this morning. Okay, so this is not the Ritz, the Hilton Grand, the Four Seasons, etc. where I actually stay as a regular choice. We have lots of choices in lodging (no pun) and I truly hope Brian and Peters supervisors know the good will being generated. As a retired corporate and private CEO I learned long ago that PEOPLE are the ONLY contributing asset that can make a lasting difference in any enterprise.
