All was fine until we got the check. 3 sizes of pours are listed on the top of the menu; .3L $6.00, .5L $8.00 and 1L $16.00. ​Two of us ordered the .3L pour and one the .5L pour. Our server, Carly, told us they only have one glass so we took that literally and assumed the rest of the small glasses were dirty. The second customer asked to have the .3L pour served in a regular glass. She said that was doable. When we got the check, we were each charged $8.00. We questioned Carly and she again said they only had one glass. Apparently she meant only one size pour but that's not what she said or what is on the menu. Came here for dinner with the family! It happened to be a good central location and the food looked good, so that's why we chose it. The ambiance of the place is great. Exactly how you would assume your local brewery would be. However once we got there they asked if we liked to take the kids (4 under 3 year olds) upstairs into the game room. It ended up being the perfect for the kids to run around and play games! The staff were super helpful and attentive. The only downside of being upstairs is you're a little out of the way so not always serviced as quickly as you would be if downstairs. read more

Great little find! Here for a midweek lunch. Sat just inside the restaurant, it was perfect ambiance. My fish sandwich was delicious! Beers were interesting and had good flavor. My only complaint is the smell of stale beer. It is a working brewery so this can happen but closing off the smells would make this place even better. read more

I didn't try any food but it looks like they have some great options. The downstairs has a large bar and garage doors that open up to the outside. I've been to Sacred Profane on multiple occasions now and I am always blown away by the food here. There isn't one bad option on the menu. The smashburger is definitely my favorite item, it's the perfect burger. I usually go for a glass of wine here and all the options are great but I have tried a cocktail before. It was the Pink Pony Club which is fruity and has tequila. not my favorite but wasn't too bad. I love the space a lot too. Sitting outside on the patio in the summer is perfect on a nice day. The only reason I can't give this review 5 stars is due to the service. Everyone here is so nice and welcoming so that is not the problem. I have just always had a problem with waiting to have my order taken or the slowness of actually receiving the food and drinks. I noticed the last time I went that people who came in about 5-10 minutes after us got helped before anyone came over to our table. Once our order finally got taken the drinks took another 10 minutes to come out and all we got was a bottle of wine for the table. I am not sure why a bottle of wine would take 10 minutes. I will still continue to love this place for outstanding food and atmosphere but would love to see a better dynamic when it comes to service. read more

Truly a hidden gem! Sacred Profane nails the trifecta of great beer, amazing food, and kind staff. It's the only spot in the U.S. doing tank-pour lagers, where the beer is suspended from tanks and flows with gravity directly to the luger tap. They serve two types of lager beer AND have an extensive cocktail, wine and shandy list. The lobster roll with smoked trout roe, pierogis, and grilled cauliflower easily count among the best bar food we've ever had. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my weird allergy. The vibes are awesome and chill. 10/10 recommend. Haven't been here in about a year, but what great improvements already. They now have an extensive food menu, a broader cocktail menu, and most importantly and extremely comfortable covered patio. We explained this was our first time and she went through the history of the brewery, the types of drinks we can order and the day's specials. This was my second time at Sacred Profane as I've just moved to the area about six months ago. The first time I had the Pierogi which were very good and tonight I had the NY strip which was good. The server was nice but completely overwhelmed. She was running the bar and had several tables as it was "trivia" night. I get that it's hard for staff to make money on a Wednesday night but a manager should be there helping. That way they don't have to split the tips. I ordered a glass of water and cranberry juice mixed when I ordered my food. (I wasn't given anything or asked for an order when I came in.) They drink came after my food. They server/ bartender was trying but she was running food, pouring drinks, and doing everything else for like 7 tables. I still tipped her well as this isn't her fault. No one could have handled this situation. Again the food is good if a bit over priced but they are using high quality ingredients. It's not a home run, but solid and I will go back. The first time we had challenges with service as well but it's good enough that I'll try it a few more times. If I could I'd give them a 3.7. read more

On a guys night out my buddy & I decided to check out this location since neither of us had tried it - and I'm glad we did! I had the double smash burger (it was what I expected) & ordered steak tartar as an app - which was great. Ordered the layered lager & then their light lager - I enjoyed them both. My friend ordered the poutine but didn't enjoy the types of fries that came with it (too thin / crunchy - made eating it a fight) - but enjoyed the gravy. Service was great, it wasn't very busy so service was very prompt - our waitress was pleasant & knowledgeable. Chef came out & asked us how our food was - which was just a great personal touch. The establishment itself is pretty neat, big garage type doors facing the road - this place is usually slammed in the summer because they open up to outside seating (which are tables). This time of year it's similar to cafeteria style seating on the first floor, a series of long tables & there's no seats at the bar. There's also an upstairs that I didn't get to see, so I'm not sure what that seating looks like (I wish I had). Although they only have a light and a dark lager -- with a few variations of each, by adding more foam, mixing them, etc -- they really have mastered these two beers. Less is more at Sacred Profane, and you can tell the team behind the magic has focused on quality over quantity. The venue itself is one of my favorites. It's cozy and welcoming, with outdoor seating during the warmer months. The staff is always so amicable and helpful. If you're a beer drinker, you have to visit Sacred Profane. Such a cool brewery in Biddeford. We were at a nearby brewery, Lucky Pigeon and the staff recommended we stop here and try their beer and get a Allen's and milk. We walked over and absolutely loved the great vibe at this welcoming industrial brewery. A few large communal tables inside, seating outside with open garage doors... beautiful day with a warm breeze to complement the cold beer. Shiny copper lukr tabs hanging above the bar for their two beers, pale and a dark larger. I started with their pale larger, full mug with three fingers of foam... so delicious and rich with flavor. Tried their Allen's and milk... dark foam and a shot of ACB... wow a mug of pure joy. These lovely people know exactly what they are doing! Staff was so cool and welcoming, their motto is cold larger and warm hearts and it fits perfectly! Love their values and their beer. Brewer Brienne was so nice and talked with us. Also enjoyed a shot ... great birthday celebration. I am such a fan of this place, that the following day we stopped back for more beer and a few cases to take back to NY. I was in the area for work, and looking for a quick drink between meetings. I actually saw Sacred Profane on Instagram and was really excited to try it out! This little spot packs a big punch. Their beer selection is awesome (they are all seriously good) and I love the signature foam on each one. Don't sleep on their snacks - they are top notch! We tried the pimento cheese dip and fries and loved them both. The service was great, and the windows were open as it was a gorgeous day out. This place is absolutely adorable! It's going to be an awesome addition to the up and coming trendy Biddeford. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and as we were seated we were told, the food outside is not the same as inside. We could only order snacks and nothing more. Very strange since the whole wall is open to the outside so it's basically the outside. Our waitress greeted us and asked our order, not offering any information about the restaurant or brewery or asking if we'd been there before. I asked for a quick rundown since I was from out of town and wanted to make sure we ordered the best locally made items. The beers are delicious. Full stop. The pale lager is the perfect beer. I could drink it forever and ever. I love the aesthetics of the brewery. Very clean look. We ate before we got there, not knowing they have food. We did stay a while and got the Spinach and artichoke dip, it was awesome. The rest of the food menu looked good too. As for beers on draft they only have 2 beers. Pale and dark lagers. But to be honest, that's all they need. They had a few canned beers as well as a few wine options, so it's not just for lager lovers. I'd the brewery was any closer to my house than a 4 hour drive and a ferry ride, I'd probably be going here every weekend. read more

We stopped in after a nice but chilly walk at Ferry beach and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was just about the best I've ever seen at a brewery, super attentive, knowledgeable and patient. At their suggestions I got the smoked dark lager and a sumac shandy, very different but they were both super good! This place only makes 2 beers but they come in all sorts of ways and sizes so you can hardly get bored. My husband got a cocktail he LOVED. We also got a snack which was tasty yet standard, but their brautwurst was so good. The space was cozy and they have a super nice upstairs for events. Both lagers are very good, I suggest trying both. They did not have food which was disappointing because we were very hungry. However the beers held us over! Food was truly delicious. Starting with the cheese sauce that comes with the pretzel, wow it is real cheese with actual flavor! On to the schnitzel, tender and adequately breaded. Maybe more breading than you would see in Vienna but this is a Czech bar and it tracks with similar dishes in Praha. The beer is tasty in the Czech style. We have been coming here since opening weekend and have noticed a huge drop off over the last few months. The last 3 visits have been very average. The entire original staff is gone and the current staff is not at the same level. We waited 20 minutes to place our drink order. Our appetizer took a long time too. They seemed under staffed, the staff was making excuses to other guests about being busy, and the owner left. The food menu seems disjointed. The dark beer is perfect! Just like I had in the Czech Republic. Kolaches were amazing and we had some great apps and burgers.

Sooooo much hype surrounded this brewery opening, and I'm so thrilled that it is super well-deserved!!! They offer 2 beers from their lukr taps (a pale lager and a dark larger, with low ABVs) were absolutely stunning. Truly exceptional- so crisp and clean... my husband is about to make the pale lager his go-to all day beer to replace his normal lower ABV options. They also offer great options for cider, wine, seltzer, as well as NA options. The space is industrial, yet welcoming. I loved the open garage doors and the copper taps hanging above the bar look awesome. Service, even on their second day open, was flawless. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to eat, but were able to grab a beer and drink upstairs until the table was ready. Now the food..... omg. Every single bite was delectable! The cretons is an absolute must-order! Especially for folks looking for the dish reminiscent of the one they grew up eating. The salad (with dorito dust, like what) was exceptional! And the pork schnitzel and potato salad paired perfectly with the beers. Finally, the poutine. This is how you do poutine!!!! It was layered with lots of cheese curds and gravy. Along with double-fried fries...I can't say enough about how good this was. I am so pumped that this spot is finally open- I would HIGHLY recommend stopping in for a visit. read more
