I will NEvER, EVER go back to Banded Brewing or purchase any of their products. I sm a longtime Boddeford resident that has supported the Brewery since it opened. Today I waited in line with my Banded Horn labeled growler. I was told the brewery no longer fills growlers. While thinking this was invredulous and dissapointed, I went to retrieve a four pack of the brew I wished to fill. The cashier I originally ordered from did not think it was fair to those who were waiting behind me to let me purchase the four pack ahead of them. She then let me know what a "pleasant person" I was. Never been to banded. Love the atmosphere in the Biddeford mill complex. Walk right up to the bar and grab your favorite banded brewing brew, some ciders and special drinks. Menu shows GF and V but the menu does state that their GF options are fried in the same fryer as other items, so NoT Celiac friendly. Which is a big bummer. Service was quick and friendly!! I've eaten at Banded a few times now, and I've really enjoyed it! I think the jalapeno popper grilled cheese is one of the best takes on the sandwich I've ever had, and the chicken shawarma wrap special I had tonight was perfect. The company scheduled an event but we were really disappointed with how it was handled. Tickets were not sold in advance, and when the venue reached capacity, no one informed the people waiting in line. We stood outside in the cold expecting to get in, only to eventually find out it was full with over a hundred people still behind us. As a local business that depends on community support, it would be much more respectful and organized to sell tickets ahead of time and clearly communicate when capacity is reached. read more

Today I had the most underwhelming experience here. My friends and I have the Sunday brunch quite often if not more than I'd like to admit. I say such to paint a picture that I'm not maliciously writing this but rather sad that a favored neighborhood spot is lowered in my books. As usual I attended brunch this morning and was served a plate of overdone eggs, clearly reheated bacon, and thick undercooked hash browns. My roommate with me ordered the exact same with over easy eggs that also came overdone. It was to the extent that we guessed someone else had to be in the kitchen. Or it was a really bad day. It just shocked us. I would've let it be if it didn't come with a $12 price point without tax and tip. I also came in this past Thursday and had a not great food experience. I ordered a burger that was unevenly cooked/too pink with juice that is not my preferred meat temp. The cheese had also been burnt to the sides. It sounds pretentious but again as a regular I've never had such quality issues. I hope seeing this review will help the kitchen on what could be improved. I'll very likely still be coming through this establishment but more-so for drinks than food unless it changes. Love banded but I don't love my past couple experiences. read more

We had friends from out of town and had their dog, so gathering with a group of 7 plus a dog and two kids was a a challenge. BB has a great outdoor seating area which accommodated our group. The kids played corn hole and the dog laid in the corner. And of course we found plenty of food options for the group. Plus the local brews and non-alcoholic beverages. It was a great afternoon. Located in the Biddeford Pepperell Mill, very cool area..with walkable bridges over a water way. This is the first brewery in Biddeford... cool. Our group of four got a table inside, there are some outdoor seating but it was way to cold out for that. Because of covid restrictions we had a server come take our orders. I started out with a flight of miltown, ace, trip and daik. All were very tasty, I ordered a pint of ace after finishing my flight. They did Ofer a few food items, we stuck to just drinks. Bathrooms were interesting, they have to in the taproom. One is a dog themed and one is a cat themed. Lots to checkout in both. There's a small merchandise area with all the normal stuff... tshirts, sweatshirts, hats and glasses. More importantly, there is beer to go. read more

Located in a spacious wing of the historic and huge Laconia Mill in the Biddeford (& Saco), Maine. The former Mill now host to a wide array of business and budding entrepreneurs. I'd say Banded Horn Brewing has transformed from Budding to Business. Their space is part industrial museum with a fun and whimsical atmosphere. Featuring arcade pinball and electronic game machines, ping-pong, and a corn hole pit outside off their sipping deck. We played some pinball, but my Tommy Dazes a were far gone. The sipping deck is an interior courtyard of the Mill lined with tall narrow windows for natural light and ventilation during the Mill Days. I ordered a flight of four 5 ounce'rs to best sample their large line-up of ales and lagers AND not stagger out with Uber Ma. Ma & I actually shared a variety of their the IPA'S (Veridian, Daikaiju, and Smokey and the Banded) and "Eldir" a Smoked Malt Rauchbier. All a pleasant variety of flavors and bloom. Even the smokey malt; at first sip heavy flavor that subsided quickly into a smooth Bier. The staff were fun to chat with and learn more about their craft and the process. Cans? A canning line wasn't obvious, so I asked... ...and, Yes, they actively can every week in another wing and there's a cooler at the Tasting/Filler Counter. read more

First time here to share a flight. Industrial ambience with a nice variety of seating including a separate area with several leather couches. My preference is sours. I came here with a friend for a couple drinks before dinner a few weeks back. I had been here several years before, but walking into this space recently, it is completely different than I remembered! Several years ago when I came here, it was very small, the bar was right when you entered, and there was one table to sit at. Fast forward to now, completely different bar, and for the better! The bar is on the far end of the space after you walk in, there are several tall beer kettles on the left as you walk in, several tables in the middle of the space, and board games, arcade games, and a super nintendo hooked up to your right. They had about 7-8 different beer options on tap, and I opted for the Charms & Hexes (sour ale with nectarines and strawberries), and I fell in love. One of the best sours I've had from a local brewery! My friend and I opted to spend some time outside on their outdoor patio. They have cornhole set up outside during the summer and fall months, and several tables set up on the patio for your seating pleasure. I really enjoyed my time here and I will definitely be back to try more of their brews! read more

I stopped by here this past Saturday with my wife for some afternoon drinks. Banded Brewing is located in an old warehouse which is cool unto itself. As I was walking down the hall to get there I could hear table tennis being played and as I walked in I could see the table. Besides that they had a row of pinball machines and some other shooter style video games. As I was walking out I also noticed an area that had SNES on a huge TV and then they had a bunch of merchandise for sale too. There was a bar as well as ample seating and they had giant windows along one whole side so that you could see their brewing equipment. Just in case that wasn't cool enough they also have an outdoor seating area with cornhole, a deck and string lights that is in the courtyard of the old factory. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Banded Brewing a flight consists of 4 beers of your choosing and I went with the Greenwarden (spruce tip ale), Charms & Hexes (sour beer with Maine blueberries), Veridian (IPA) and Daikaiju (DIPA). The first beer I tried was the Greenwarden which had some of that piney flavor near the finish. It's a nice and clean beer although the more I drank of it, the less likely I think I would be to order it again. Up second was Charms & Hexes and you definitely get the punch of sour right from the start and it continues through the finish. I enjoyed it but found myself trying to find the promised Maine blueberries. Third was Veridian which was a juicy ipa with large amounts of citrus in the beginning and then some hops at the finish but not too much. Last but certainly not least was Daikaiju which was a seriously smooth ipa that really hid its 8.7% alcohol well. The only part that really let me know it's a strong IPA was at the end of the finish where I got a huge hoppy flavor. Out of the bunch I would have to say that the Veridian and Daikaiju were my favorite two. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Delicious beer, friendly staff, and board games make me a happy gal... so I had a blast at Banded Brewing Company this past weekend. The inside area is extremely spacious... and I didn't even realize until after they were leaving that they have a gorgeous outdoor space as well (complete with cornhole, string lights, and plenty of seating)! From the inside, you are able to see right into the part of the space where they brew the beers, as everything is pretty much right out in the open. That was a nice change from other craft breweries that I've visited in the Boston area that are more closed-off. As for the beers themselves - wonderful! I enjoyed the Orange Sorbet IPA, and I chose that as my full-sized glass after first doing a paddle with various options. The orange kick to it was fairly subtle, but it was a great IPA. The Graves Gold was a solid choice as well. Oh, and they even have a small kitchen out back and a little food menu! We got the pretzel bites which were priced just right at $5 and were a nice compliment to the beer. Plus, you can BYOFood! Portland Pie Company is situated right next door, so that was a perfect place for us to grab dinner (we got some pizza to go, and then came here to eat it alongside Banded's tasty beer). Both businesses are located in this big old renovated mill building (there's also a gin distillery and ice cream shop inside), and it really was just a very cool vibe overall. The whole complex felt like the perfect place for a night out or for a unique multi-part date night. And did I mention that Banded has games? In addition to board games, they also had a SNES connected to a big screen, pinball machines, and a ping pong table (with lots of balls to spare for when one... or two... get inevitably lost... not that I did that or anything...). Originally hailing from Biddeford, I love that businesses are making use of the Biddeford mills as it makes for a unique experience, and Banded Brewing definitely makes use of the rustic, industrial space. A group of friends and I decided to meet up at Banded Brewing on a Sunday evening before going to dinner. Having never been, I was originally awed by the open space with high ceilings. Banded Brewing utilizes this large space by portioning it to keep their large beer kettles, which adds to the industrial feel of the venue. The other portion is dedicated to long, wooden communal tables and little spaces with stools around the perimeter for those looking to drink their beer in a more intimate setting. Banded Brewing also provides a ping pong table as well as some old school pinball machines and games. Looking to be outside? They also have an expansive outdoor patio space! As you make your way to the back of the venue, they have their bartenders ready to take your order. Each one of the bartenders were really nice and took their time to get to know their customers as customers placed orders. They also provide some snack options which included various dips, cheeses, and some sandwich-like items. I ended up ordering their Daikaiju which was a DIPA, and it was really fruit-forward and good. I tried some of what my friends ordered such as the Kiwi Drinking Kiwi and the Resolution, which were also decent. I really enjoy what Banded Brewing has to offer in the Biddeford scene, and they are producing some good beers. Are they my favorite beers? Not really, but they are good and I would certainly come back with friends when I am in the area. read more

If i'm looking to hang out in Biddeford or go on a date with multiple stops, Banded Horn is almost always on my list of stops. Why you ask? Cheap good beer, new outdoor seating, PING PONG!!, old school nintendo with Mario Kart!! Seriously it is a good time here and it's a laid back setting which I can really get into. You can buy a glass of beer or a flight if you want to sample multiple options. Staff is cool and laid back and they want you to have a great time. Plus its totally nordic theme which is sweet. I can hang out here for hours because it's always a great time. They recently remodeled the place, and I'm loving the new neon signage which showcases all of the beers they have on tap. Very cool! Seriously come on in and check it out. You will not be disappointed. While you are here, check out the gin distillery next door (Round Turn Distilling), and make an afternoon out of it! Banded Horn is such an awesome place to go grab a drink with friends after work, hang out all night on a Friday, or attend a fun event. They have arcade games, an old Super Nintendo hooked up to a flat screen, ping pong, and corn hole. The entire brewery is in one large room in the old mills of Biddeford, so it's all brick and wood flooring. Great aesthetic. You can see all of the brewing area from the big, open tasting room. Plenty of places to sit (mostly high tops and stools) and enjoy a drink with one person or many. Really just an awesome hangout overall, and they do some really cool events like summer parties out on their back deck or bacon and beer flights for Valentine's Day! I highly recommend hanging out at this place, picking up a growler, or even just wearing one of their t-shirts around town. Young, hip, and fun. read more

Banded Horn embraces the industrial space that they're in, and I think that makes for a very unique atmosphere. As such, it's earthy and dark and gritty and raw... but the addition of the board games, cornhole, and table tennis make it a destination stop when checking out the breweries of Maine (and the proof is in the vast demographic they're attracting: there were empty-nesters having the time of their life playing cornhole, twenty-something girls pouring over their beer trail maps, and families with kids just stopping by for a quick taste). The flights to sample four different kinds of beer are $10. A little on the steep side if you ask me. The beers we chose ranged from pedestrian to mind-blowingly delicious. We got... - Pepperell Pilsner: possibly the most generic beer-flavored beer I've had in a long time. It was extremely underwhelming and went unfinished. -/+ Bineary Double IPA: at 98 IBU and 9.1% ABV it was too much for me personally, but my counterpart couldn't get enough. So, if you like hops for days, be absolutely sure you try this! Smell those pine and citrus notes? Yum. -/+ Jolly Woodsman Coffee Stout: sure, it tasted like a stout. But nothing more or less. It's supposed to have wood-roasted espresso in it, but I couldn't taste those notes at all. Maybe the batch we got was old? Really disappointed by this beer. + Eldir: IVENEVERTASTEDANYTHINGLIKETHISBEFORE. It was so delicious and extraordinary that we actually got into a (very quiet so no one could hear us) argument over who was going to finish this. The beechwood smoked malt makes it smell like a summer BBQ... basically, it's an experience I've never quite had with a beer before. Absorb it with every sense! I think the thing that bummed me out the most here was the girl working the counter. She was a total drag. I've been a taproom employee before - people visiting breweries are usually lovers of beer (from how it's made to what's in it to the story behind the names). When you come off as surly and disinterested as this girl did, you feel totally unwelcomed. We didn't get the chance to ask her any questions about the who/why/what/where of the business because she was so obviously not into being there. Sure, it was a sunny Sunday afternoon, but... try to act like you care. We'll DEFINITELY come back: I'd like to see the equipment in use, I'd love to talk to the brewmaster, and I think I'm already going through withdrawals from lack of Eldir in my life! read more

There are always new beers to try, and the experience is amazing. There's also a gin distillery and Portland Pie next door, and plenty of other interesting businesses to explore nearby so come on down! Tip: Parking in downtown Biddeford can be a little tight because the city is becoming a victim of its own recent successes, so if you're not sure if you've found a good legal spot, ask the person pouring beers if your car is where it belongs. read more

Like most breweries in Maine, it's BYOFood and dog. Ample seating at the bar or tables. Conveniently located next to Portland Pie Co. (free delivery) and a craft distillery with gin for your beer averse friends. The owners and workers are very friendly. For beers, Resolution is not to be missed - a NYE Belgian strong collaboration with their brewery friends Barreled Souls. Reclaimer is an awesome strong wild brewed with raspberries and reminiscent of sour fizz candy. The Mountain is hands down one of my favorite russian imperial stouts and if you can find it barrel aged, even better. read more

Staff is very friendly, the space is well-decorated, and prices are quite fair. We tried the nachos last time we were there (they weren't anything too special but scratched the itch) and can't wait to try more of their delicious-looking bar food.
