    Breakfast Flatbread

Ate here three times in three days. All three times, the service was lovely. You can charge the meal to your room or pay then and there. First time: S&S Signature Breakfast with scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage. Disappointing because it wasn't noticeably tastier than a standard continental breakfast buffet that would be complimentary at most business inns. Every part of it was just fine. The exception was the orange juice included with the signature, which was delicious. $21 Second time: Breakfast Flatbread. Now this was gorgeous. Got the eggs over easy so the yolk bled onto the pesto. Really really good. I'd order this again. No drink included. $18 Third time: The dinner menu the server handed me was more expensive, with entries ranging from $26 to $40, or tapas for $12 a plate, or a couple salads I wasn't in the mood for. However, the online menu has a section for handhelds--burgers and sandwiches--that include a side of fries or chips. From that menu, I asked the server for the Chicken Bacon Avocado without bacon. On the plate the sandwich looks small, but it's substantial. The fries were lightly salted with a nice potato flavor. $18 Overall, I think the quality of the entrées varies a lot from really delicious to average of slightly disappointing, and the prices are really pushing what I'm content to spend on a meal. But I like that between S&S and the little Illy grab-and-go right next to it, The Notary Hotel offers food onsite at a range of price points. You'll find more interesting, delicious, cheaper food from local businesses at Reading Terminal Market next door, but if you don't want to go outside, or if you can't be bothered to browse your other options, Sabroso+Sorbo isn't bad. Sometimes it's even really good.

Friendly service, tasty food but a bit overpriced. Pretty spacious restaurant inside the hotel. Sat on the couch and the waitress allowed us to dine there. Charcuterie board was delicious, but small for $35. Good quality which is a big reason why. Drinks were made fast and was a nice sports bar. Id come back here for drinks and an app if I am in the area again!

Excellent food and service! Bar was busy but restaurant was not too busy. We had nice and quiet dinner.

Great and fast service. The food was great and unique. I had the brûlée oatmeal and it was like dessert for breakfast!

Hubby gets a gold star for finding the places the eat. We walked here from our hotel to dine for dinner. We were able to come in and be seated right away. The host gave us menus while we waited for our server. Our server was Erica, the best and sweetest person who will ever meet. We started out with appetizers: Him: Croquettes Me: Grilled Shrimp Plus we had the white sangria punch in a pitcher. Dinner entrées we both had the filet with green beans and potatoes. Now everything was good, but the potatoes were a tad underdone for me. And we even had room for dessert. I wanted to enjoy the ambiance and hubby time so no photos

Hannah was a phenomenal server. Espresso martini, Brussels, and molten chocolate were the winners here. Chicken was also good. I enjoyed the meal here.

So this was a post flower show meal endeavor. I had come here with a friend a few years ago the weekend before covid hit and we really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. It seemed to be closed down for a while and when I saw it was open again I knew we had to recreate the whole experience. I must say though I was underwhelmed on the second trip. Service was okay but the whole place felt a bit disjointed, the food was fine. This was definitely better in my memory then it was on the revisit. Had to enter through the lobby of the hotel despite there being multiple other doors that were just locked so we had to essentially walk all the way around the building to get in, which may be a security feature but should be more clearly displayed then. Overall it was tolerable but not somewhere I will be rushing back to.

This place was fantastic. Very eclectic decor with great lighting and music. The staff were so polite and lovely. Shanice was our server and she was so attentive. Hats off to the Chef. We had the mussels that were in an orange saffron sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection. The cheese cake was perfect. I've been to a lot of high end restaurants but this one is a hidden gem. I would strongly recommend to everyone.

Many of the hotel breakfasts I've had are usually sub-par to average, so I didn't expect much from Sabroso +Sorbo. They completely exceeded my expectations though. Everything my family ordered during our stay was delicious: chia pudding, breakfast parfait, blueberry pancakes, traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, papas bravas etc. The orange and apple juices are fresh and tasty. They plate everything in a beautiful manner as well. The pancakes in particular were perfect: they were an ample portion, but were thin and light, and included fresh berries. (Not the heavy, gloppy monstrosities you usually get.) All of the employees are friendly and welcoming. We were fortunate to get Eileen as our server both days. She is both efficient and very kind. I was surprised Sabroso doesn't have other reviews, because they are excellent!

    Eggs benedict and home fries
    Ashley B.

Setting: 10:30 am on a Saturday, solo, back seating Vibe: the back area is quiet, laid back with comfortable chairs, not as decorated or themed as the front but as I had just finished an interview and wanted to have a laid back breakfast, this was just what the doctor ordered. My waitress was also super nice and helpful Food: I got the eggs benedict (4/5) and the home fries (2/5). The Eggs Benedict is over a Canadian bacon like pork and a crispy/flavorful English muffin and comes with an argula and cherry tomato salad. Heavy on the hollaindaise which is how I prefer it and eggs poached soft which is also how I like it so it was ideal for me. Home fries were not crispy enough at all, I didnt enjoy them, they were flavored well outside being soft so if you like soft home fries these would be good for you Drinks: they leave you the whole carafe of coffee!!! It's great coffee too. Bottom line: I went here because I was staying in the hotel but it's actually good alone as a stand alone restaurant!

Not on the menu, but they make a delicious Old Fashioned, complete with a Notary stamp on the ice cube. Now that's classy!

Making a reservation online was quick and easy, though I've know it gets very busy on weekends and during the summer. Even though we had reserved a table, we grabbed a sit at the bar (our favorite way to do it). Great decision! Our waitress, Alex, was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and went beyond just listing items, she shared her personal favorites and honest perspectives, which really helped us make our decisions. We started with a bottle of Super Tuscan, which was just what we were looking for (and at a great price id say). Their wine list is great, and they have a full bar too. I've heard they're known for their focaccia, but we didn't try it this time... definitely on the list for next visit. For food, we had the Bufala Mozzarella with zucchini/mint on sourdough toast to start. So fresh and flavorful. Then we shared the Crab Pasta and the NY Strip. Both were delicious. The portions aren't huge, but they were perfect for us to share and left us totally satisfied. We were way too full for dessert, but everything we saw coming out looked amazing, next time for sure. They also have a $56 per person family-style option (2 appetizers, a pasta, a secondi, and a contorni), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Definitely something we want to try next time. The space is modern and fits perfectly in Rittenhouse. So happy to finally check this one off my list... and definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm in Philly.

The atmosphere is fun and funky, the diners all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The inside is gorgeous however right at the front door is terribly uneven brick and I almost turned my ankle. We started to order the Chefs Table but realized that would be too much food. I tried the carrots as an appetizer and I just couldn't get enough. I could have eaten two plates. I also ordered the fig ravioli and, sadly, I wasn't as I had hoped. The balance of fig to Gorgonzola cheese wasn't quite there. It need a bit more sweet and less oil. The ravioli looked very oily and overcooked. The taste wasn't great, I bit into large peppercorns many times and it was overpowering and changed the taste of the dish. Service was impeccable however friendliness and being in the weeds doesn't go together. I will say everyone seemed to be working very well together and expediting dishes out of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend Via Locusta to anyone visiting Philly however I would also suggest they try somewhere else first.

I am vegetarian, so here are my thoughts on the new items. Ensalade Verde: is the absolute best salad in the city. in the country even. absolute must get. it's big, however me and my sister still refuse to split it. definitely shareable though if you're not as greedy. Patatas Bravas: slightly different iteration than their past one. I think it's actually better. you get more potato's, more sauce, and the sauce just tastes slightly better but who knows. always ordered when we go Brussels Catalana: technically there is blue cheese in this, however, I am a certified blue cheese hater and I had no idea. so don't be turned off by that. first time having this dish and it was solid. good portion, well coated, right texture. will get again Pimientos De Pardon: shishito peppers were good, decent amount of them. I think everyone had three and we had 4 people. wouldn't get again just because there are other things more worth it but still great. Unknown Cauliflower dish: i'm not seeing it on the menu, so maybe it was just removed, but it was essentially a cauliflower gratin dish. I wouldn't get again. it was good, but lacked salt and was basically just a cauliflower in some heavy cream with a tiny amount of bread crumbs. Valenciana Paella: this has meat in it obviously, but I did eat around the pieces. if you're vegetarian and don't mind your food touching the meat, it's very easy to pick around. all the meat pieces are medium sized. This was very good, the rice was amazing, the watercress was so good. presentation was great. worth the time and money especially if you eat meat Ganache de Chocolate: pretty good. honestly interested in trying the rice pudding next. or just ordering another patatas bravas for dessert. shareable between two people. Passion fruit mocktail: MUST GET for all non drinkers! expensive? yes. worth it? yes. taste is great and it's also a nice thing to have if you're with others who drink and don't want to be left out. it's set up just like an alcoholic drink would be.

The tasting menu had three tiers you could choose from- $35, $45, and $55/person. We chose the $55/person option which included the full menu of tapas as well as dessert. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! The place gets packed on a Saturday night so we would not have gotten in without a reservation.

Ended up here by accident because I was window shopping with my 3 year old and he suddenly shouted…read more"I need to potty"...most establishments do not have restrooms available to the public so I figured our best bet was a restaurant and popped in here. The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

Cozy and romantic and we were seated with a great view of the open kitchen, which compared to some other open kitchens, was humming away and directed by the head chef/owner. We first ordered several dishes from the tapas menu: Eggplant, Albondigas, Bacalao, and Roasted Beets. The eggplant was custardy on the outside and perfectly charred on the inside and its savory yet sweet profile would convert any eggplant hater. The beets were nicely steamed and sprinkled with a flavorful pistachio dukkah, though the coconut kefir swoosh on the bottom wasn't super flavorful. The albondigas were good, the pork/beef mix a bit overworked but the tomato sauce they were in was bright and perfectly spiced and made a perfect sauce to dip the abbbbsolutely DELICIOUS housemade sourdough slices this course came with. Last of these was the bacalao fritters, perfectly fried and topped with a citrus aioli. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Order these. Next was the raciones course, which is basically just tapas but just more meat-centric. We ordered the chicken leg with berbere and saffron couscous (came with housemade pita bread squares) and the Spanish sausage with roasted long hots. The chicken was our least favorite of the night. Overcooked and lacking much flavor, though the couscous made up for it with its saffron essence and sweet and soft dates and apricots. The pita bread, just like the sourdough was DELICIOUS. (Can you tell I like bread?) The sausage was salty and perfectly charred and another favorite of the night. They have a tapas/raciones tasting menu for $55 and the above cost two of us about $100 so we might try the tasting menu the next time though, we left full satisfied. Definitely will be back!
