They don't listen or take instruction well & their service Their service has always been bad, they seem to get mean and rude people to cashier! Or people who alter your order and it's too much trouble for them to fix it- they make you wait a long time, over 40 minutes, to fix their mistakes- also has happened to me here before. Anyway, I should've checked my meal before I left but I thought she understood what I wanted- Their was no language barrier here. And I don't have time to go in and debate that fact, don't want them to 'fix' the problem and find things in my food! You guessed it, this has also happened to me before. Ordered a taco- which was so GREASY I had to toss it And I was OVERCHARGED, I've ordered the same thing before for less! I've been living in SD for the last 4 years and been exposed to some really good Mexican food. This is probably one of the few places around this area in OC that comes the closest to what Mexican Fast Food should taste like (almost but not quite there yet). And yes, expect this stuff to come unhealthy. Pollo asado fries: 3.5. The fries are always crunchy, but they're a larger cut than what I'm used to. I like thin fries. They give you a good amt of chicken but the sour cream can sometimes be a bit overpowering since they put a lot. Fish burrito: used to be a 5 a few years ago, but they downsized their burrito and increased the price so now it's a 3.5. Makes me sad to think about it. But it's definitely worth a try! Fish is tender and melts in your mouth accompanied by a soft tortilla and their special sauce. Also, I like how the eating area is HUGE. Quality went downhill, they are super stingy with the salsa which has no taste, price is ultra expensive now, and the service is horrible. Need I say more? They gave us 3 small containers of salsa for a large order of carne asada chips and 3 rolled tacos. Everything was bland, old, and they charged us an extra dollar for more salsa. Less than mediocre. Never thought I'd meet a place that does Carne Asada wrong....but I did. Met up with my fiancé for lunch and couldn't decide on where to go so found this place near by. It was nice a big and had a pretty nice size line so I figured it had to be good but I was wrong. Carne Asada was super thin and tasted like jerky. I had been evening this joint for quite some time especially since they have vegetarian options but unfortunately it wasn't something I enjoyed. We had a fish taco and two potato tacos with Mexican coke. The thought was to try it out first before placing order for more items. The fish taco would have been great if it had seasoning. It was bland with way too much cabbage. Potato on the other hand was just boiled potatoes with cabbage and salsa. Same complaint about it being too bland. I've come here numerous times. Haven't had a problem until today. I ordered two tacos. When I opened the chicken taco, it had the same amount of onion as chicken and the taco was all wet. When I returned the taco to the cashier she had major attitude and wanted to charge me to replace the item. I hadn't consumed any of it. I just wanted it replaced. Now that I live down the street, I visit this place more often! It used to be Alerto's and then they changed their name to Sabrosada with a large banner saying "new name, same owner." I'm not so sure about that? But, this place does have its days (even when it was Alerto's). On some days, my burrito is slender and the fillings are not even (beans all on one end, meat and fries in my California burrito all saturated in the other end). BUT! On their good days, I'm satisfied! Their portions are generous; if a half order of my fries is a whole square container, I wonder how much a full order is. I know there's one woman working who isn't the greatest with customer service I don't mind.. I'm always nice to whoever is at the window and they'll be nice back when I request for more hot sauce. I paid for my food and then waited around 10+ mins for my order. I look thru the window and my order is clearly visible and the lady is taking her time and hesitates to give me my food. After a couple more mins she finally hands me my food. She apologies for the long wait. I spoke up and said that due to the long wait my food is going to be cold. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and it tasted like it had been cooked with fish. I even looked too to see if maybe they made a mistake and gave me the wrong burrito. Definitely an unpleasant surprise when you want chicken. The chips were inconsistent, some were crispy and some were stale. The guacamole was bland and reminded me of the pre-made kind you find at the market.The salsa was spicy, watery, and lacked any flavor to it. I would not recommend this place. Don't be confused by my 3 stars, the food here is DELICIOUS. The Breakfast burritos are authentic and perfectly spicy. I'm actually a regular customer and I'd love to give them 4 stars but I just can't because of one particular customer service issue. It keeps happening that I've driven up to the drive-through and yelled "hello??" for a good hot few minutes before I drive up to the window to see that no one is at the drive through speaker. Don't have a drive-through if noone is consistently managing it. I hate to complain because, like i said, the food is delicious! It wasn't huge like other burritos I've eaten where it's mostly tortilla. The burrito had guacamole and pico the gallego. The chicken had a great taste to it. The burrito was a perfect size. I asked for a side of grilled chilies and they hooked it up. My kiddo got the quesadilla and my husband got a bean burritos. Everyone was satisfied and happy with what they ordered. The has to be either the worst location late at night or the crew working the late night shift must have been taking shits of patron in between cars to not care about the service nor the detail of what people ordered. This being said... When I order three taquitos with guacamole and pay the extra money for guacamole I expect guacamole to be on top of my taquitos when I take it home. You know once you get home and open the container you expect to see the green smeared stuff all over the rolled meat tortilla... Alas this did not happen. I think they know you will not go all the way back so they don't really care to take time to make ture the order was correct. The lady at the window is there to take the money and hand the food. She doesn't take the extra three seconds to open the containers to see if it was what you ordered. Just hand and drive away. I can't even say the taquitos were good. Always support the business. 09/30/21 @ 10am, window girl taking order was super sweet and customer service was 10/10 even before I had my coffee! But I paid extra to add carne asada, and thought maybe the meat just sank to the bottom cuz that sometimes happens! Or maybe I just hadn't gotten to it yet cuz I only bought 2oz asada instead of 4oz. But I'm officially half way through my chile relleno burrito and still haven't ran into not even one particle or piece of asada. I'm starting to accept the cook today accidentally forgot to add it. They're usually pretty good with orders but about 2/10 times something will fall through the crack. No big deal, it happens. Hopefully more attention will be paid next time and accuracy in orders will improve. The burrito was amazing otherwise, but I did expect the asada so that was kind of a bummer. What can I said about this place, I love everything , I am a big fan of Chile verde, this time I went to the drive through, I was greeted by a friendly cashier, so today I decided to get a Chile verde burrito no beans extra rice and a Large Tamarindo water no ice, this place is so busy during lunchtime, so today I have to wait more of a normal day, when arrived at the window, cashier repeat my order to make sure was correct, I parked to eat my food, the water I ordered was very delicious and refreshing, I don't know how to describe the taste of the Chile verde it's just amazing, just like my mom used to make when I was in Mexico, just bring me a lot of good memories, food was hot and very tasty, I can eat this all day long, so I would definitely keep coming to this place, if you haven't try it, what are you waiting for?
