Sometimes the best stops on a trip are the simple ones, and Sabrosa was exactly that for me. I stopped in for a quick glass of wine while catching up with friends and it turned out to be the perfect place to do it. The location is fantastic, making it an easy spot to meet up and unwind. From the moment you walk up, the decor feels refreshing and welcoming without trying. One of my favorite features was the front patio seating. There's just something about sitting outside with a glass of wine, good conversation, and people watching in Montreal that makes for a memorable afternoon. While the inside was gorgeous, I prefer outside always. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos to share, but I can definitely speak to the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always seemed to appear right when our glasses were getting low, amazing! haha. They helped create a relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to sit, chat, and enjoy each other's conversation. Sabrosa is a cute, comfortable spot that's perfect for catching up with friends over wine and food for sure. I'd happily stop by again on a future visit to Montreal. We had been walking in the old town Montreal area, we actually passed this restaurant, and we didn't think we'd be stopping by here for lunch. But, we were hungry, and actually heading back to where we came from, but nothing looked good to us. We stumbled upon the Restaurant Sabrosa and ate there. This turned out to be an excellent decision! In the midst of French-speaking Montreal, it's funny how Spanish, and Mexican food, can make an American feel 'at home.' The restaurant was on a corner and was comfortable, even cozy. We both ordered tacos - me the al pastor and DH the beef. The tacos were excellent, and so was the service. "Those were good tacos! Wow -what can we say bad??-Nothing. We had two taco plates to share and the food was fresh -tasty - delicious. The beef tacos came with a side of very light tastings beef consume and it was a perfect complement. We sat outside and were able to see the many people walking saint-Paul street. The service was great. We were seated right away without a reservation. The drinks were good but here is the issue. They were out of a bunch of things. No shrimp tacos OK I can manage that. Arguably the best Mexican cuisine I have ever experienced in Canada, along with all the warmth and hospitality you could possibly ask for! The Al pastor tacos could have come straight from Puebla. The accompanying jalapeño and habanero sauces were thicker than what you might find in a taqueria, but sufficiently fiery and flavorful! You have to try this place. We came here on a Saturday night. Just the service itself was amazing, our waitress Carol Ann was great, she checked up on us so many times to see if everything was good and we loved it. They have a nice cocktail menu, I had the como la Flor and it was good, if you like lavender you will like this drink. As a second drink we got an espresso martini and it was so good but when we got the bill we saw that it costed us 22$ for it, because of the price I will never get one when I return, because in my opinion it was highly overpriced. For food we shared, the birria tacos, the salmon tataki, papaya salad and the calamari, they were all good. The birria was really nice and the salmon tataki had so much flavour and I think it was my favorite, the papaya salad was refreshing, the calamari was okay. For dessert we had the choice between orange cake or churros, we wanted to try something different so we tried the orange cake and the cake was really moist which was lovely to end our meal. The restaurant itself is really nice inside, they even a big patio to sit outside. We loved that they were playing Spanish music and loved the vibe all together.
