For my first visit I had: sweet potato and ricotta, hamachi, scallops, chilaquiles, and pork belly taco I actually went to the grocery store the next day and bought sweet potato and ricotta - not that I could ever replicate the dish for real. But I could have had that x4 plates and been so satisfied- that's how good the food is. Adelitas' version is comforting, approachable, and deeply homey. It tastes less like a culinary experiment and more like something your abuela has been making for decades. The carne asada was tender, the rice and beans were exactly what they should be, and every bite reminded me why comfort food never goes out of style. Before leaving, I made the smartest decision of the evening. Tres leches to go. I devoured it later at home while Netflix asked if I was still watching.
