This is such a great hidden gem for an awesome day! Go check out the tasting room and make sure to stop and test out all the amazing spirits! Once you've tested them all to make an educated decision on your favorites (of course), you can buy a bottle to bring home for later - they even sell blueberry lemonade by the bottle! Make sure to go blueberry picking at Victoria farms (they share a lot) and bring home some of the best blueberries with it to make some awesome homemade blueberry concoctions! We love the indoor/outdoor open air vibe and while the bathrooms are port o potties, at least they have restrooms and places to wash hands and they aren't ever super dirty! It can get crowded parking wise but they do have an overflow lot which isn't too far of a walk which is nice. We've made a habit out of coming at least once a year and will continue to! read more

Been wanting to come for a long time. Brought my husband here for his birthday in January (sorry for the delay)Tim and Jasmine greeted us warmly and we immediately were engaged in casual conversation with them.. a very relaxed, comfortable, chill atmosphere. It was the beginning of the everlasting tule fog we've been having and it was chilly Jasmine was so kind to make us a couple of hot totties using their in in house infused honey. I definitely recommend booking a tour and tasting Tim started us out and then Danny one of the owners walked us through their story, their inspiration and the whole process it really was an experience and I'm sure going to bring some whiskey fans. Oh and Best gin I've had in my life! The club seems like a great deal especially if you are a local ;) We took home several bottles of spirits and some honey... time to go back, pick some blueberries and try some blueberry lemonade vodka refreshing drinks! read more

Sabbatical distillery is located off west highway 4 on the south eastern fringe of the Sacramento delta. The turn off to Sabbatical's access road is somewhat reminiscent of a delivery truck entrance but after a quick decline on the entrance road and a sharp left you'll land in the parking lot directly in front of the main entrance. Inside the main entrance sits an impressive display of stacked oak barrels and to their right are several enormous shiny steel distilling tanks. A long butcher block counter is located on the left side of the distillery parallel to the wall. This counter was topped with a row of Sabbatical's award winning whiskeys and spirits for sampling. That said, I meandered over to take a seat in one of the stools. I hadn't planned on tasting as I was mostly interested in sabbatical's bourbon infused honey. But after a convo with Jack Zech, who's family has owned Victoria Farms for generations, I took a step outside my world 'o wine and decided to taste a few of sabbatical's award winning elixirs in the line up. I tasted several of the whiskey samples and finished with a sample of sabbatical's whiskey infused honey. I ended up purchasing a bottle of their Blended American Whiskey and a flask of whiskey infused honey. The honey sample was viscous and soothing. Fantastic!! Our new favorite! We met Tim in Nevada doing some research and he said to stop by. We did and are so happy we did! Great quality of whisky (and gin and vodka). I would highly recommend! Most of their spirits are farm to bottle. Small business, you can tell they take pride in what they do. Reasonable prices and just great product. We left with more than we expected and will be back! I made a reservation for hubby's birthday since he enjoys whisky. We were part of a group of 10 (or so) for the 'Distillery Tour + Guided Tasting' - $20/person. After purchasing online, I messaged them to ask about a non-alcoholic (NA) option and they said yes. I was the designated driver and still charged the $20 even though I didn't participate in the whisky. The distillery was cute, I liked the space and seeing all the barrels. As we checked-in, we were given a welcome cocktail. I passed on it as I was the DD but hubby enjoyed it. I was offered a water or La Croix sparkling water in lieu of the cocktail. Then we began with a tour, all standing, so just be aware. We got to climb and peek into the fermenting tank - that was cool. While we were in the tour, the staff was setting up the area for our tasting and setting out all the glasses. Everything was pre-poured for you and you could go at your own pace as you're walked through the tasting. It all looked so pretty! There was whisky, vodka, gin and lemonade tastings. For my non-alcoholic option, they put another La Croix for me in a different flavor with a cup of ice. I think maybe they could offer a couple mocktail options instead for the NA option which I would've enjoyed more than a 2nd La Croix. Everyone got lemonade (non-alcoholic) as part of the pre-poured layout except me. not sure why? I asked for a tasting of the lemonade and it was good. I think they could turn that into a solid mocktail option. We also had pistachios from their sister farm which were yummy. At the end of the tasting, we also sampled a few of their pistachio flavors and We also tried a sample of their bourbon infused honey. We bought the honey and the jalapeno lime pistachios. We later realized Winco carries these pistachios and we've now bought them twice! They're that good. Overall, hubby enjoyed the experience. read more

What an awesome spot! You have to swing in here. I shared a tasting and it was perfect. I did not expect to be blown away by the lemon vodka but it is really something special. We brought home 3 bottles of whiskey and some jalapeno lime pistachios. The blended American & Straight bourbon aged in port casks were two of our favorites but the OG is solid too. Located in Oakly, California... my cousin introduced us to this place. Sabbatical farm distillery which you can go blueberry picking. Grab a bag and head out to the blueberry trees. When you're done they have a spot to wash your berries. When you're done, weigh your bag and pay. This place also has whiskey tasting. Consist of about 8 or more whiskey to try. They pour about 10mls for tasting. They also sell different flavors of pistachios. The cocoa pistachios and garlic herb flavors are the best. Place is clean. This is without a doubt the BEST place ever. All their offerings are Fabulous. The owners and staff are beyond welcoming and make your tour experience a fun one. They take the time to explain the process, allow you to see the barrels and even peek into the fermentation tank. They offer everything from gin to the best lemon vodka and several types of whiskey. I do wish they would bring back the Blueberry Liqueur! It's worth the trip to Victoria Island to experience and taste the many offerings of Sabbatical. read more

Super fun stop that was worth the visit. This former asparagus farm has surprisingly good whisky and gin -- we picked up a bottle to take home after sampling at the table where we were helped by a friendly young lady. The warehouse is full of whisky aging barrels and it appears there's ample seating for weekend visitors. We look forward to stopping by again when our bottle is empty. read more

My husband spotted this place off Hwy 4 commuting between Brentwood and Stockton. They are only open on the weekends for tasting, so we happened to stop by on Saturday. Super friendly guys inside with free tasting; Jack is one of the owners and his story is inspiring (you'll have to visit to hear it)! We tried the gin, bourbon whiskey, blended whiskey and the very delicious raspberry liqueur. We love to support local businesses, and this one has our vote. Go try them out! The puppy greeting is an added bonus to the smooth spirits you'll get to taste. read more

Surprised my husband with a trip here for a tasting after seeing a review on facebook that not only were the owners kind, but their alcohol was delicious! I'm not a whiskey/bourbon person as they are generally too harsh for me, but I love gin. Gin and tonic has been my drink of choice choice since college. THIS GIN IS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! Smooth, even a bit fruity, but SO gosh darn yummy the I could drink it straight. I also enjoyed the bourbon, whiskey and cognac as did my husband. Great place, great experience! Finally got a chance to try this place out today and it did not disappoint. Tried all of their bourbon, gin and vodka offerings and went home with a few bottles. The two guys who helped us were friendly and helped us with our selections. The only con is that it is an open room with no air conditioning and it was a warm day. read more
