As a Falafel addict I often look for it at every place I visit. And boy, good falafel is hard to find, even decent ones are in short supply. I had a falafel sandwich. It was gross. I would swear, swear that if that was truly tahini, it was made with mayonnaise. It was gross and tasted terrible. It was the worst tahini I've ever had. Also not sure what kind of oil they use for frying, but it sure gave the falafel a funky taste. If you're a true Middle Eastern food aficionado, then this place is not for you. Sabaraba's is a kiosk in the parking lot. You order at the kiosk and they announce when your order is ready. It took awhile, but it is worth the wait for fresh food. Seating is common patio area outside. My pita schwarama was good and tasty. See pics of my order and part of the menu. Came here based on a recommendation, and would recommend if you want to grab some fresh made food. My only complaint was the server made some mistake with my credit card swiping it twice causing it to be rejected/flagged, which was hassle to get corrected. My partner and I ordered a gyro plate, falafel plate, seasoned fries, and baba ganoush - TASTE: 4/5 - highlights were the lamb & beef mix in the gyro, falafel, and seasoned fries; truly could not stop eating the fries. This place is really good! Has outdoor seating only with a few tables with umbrella included. You order at a window and the food took about 10 minutes to be ready. We got a chicken schwarma pita and the schwarma laffa. Both were very large for the price and excellent tasting. We also got a side of fries and they were crispy and seasoned well. Let's put it like this: I'm part Greek AND Jewish and have lived in a lot of major cities where getting very good, very legit and fairly-priced gyros/shawarma is part of the landscape. And let's put it like this: I went to Sabaraba's with my Israeli pal that I often go out to eat gyros/shawarma. So, now that I've established my unquestionable qualifications, lol, I can confidently say Sabaraba's is indeed very good, VERY legit and fairly priced. I can also say that I've NEVER been somewhere that does BOTH gyros and shawarma...usually, it depends on the restaurateur's ethnicity, because although these are similar dishes, there are also some crucial differences. However, Sabaraba's definitely knows what those differences are, so, regardless of how you lean on the gyros/shawarma scale, you'll be quite satisfied. read more

The food was ok. We got two Gyros with fries and a drink. Because of all of the great reviews I was excited and looking forward to the food. I love Mediterranean food but this was not that great. The taziki sauce didn't have any flavor. I was disappointed. We actually didn't finish it. Maybe I should've tried the falafel which the reviews seem to favor. I visited the Sandy Springs location yesterday and ordered the falafel laffa. For a food truck, it took way longer than I thought it should have taken (I waited at least 15 minutes, maybe longer.) When I picked up the order, I had to return to ask to have it cut in half, as it is large and unwieldy to eat any other way. The falafel pieces were mushy. The falafels need to be crunchy on the outside. These were definitely not. The salad and pickles added no texture, or zing, they were just as tired and blah as the rest of it. The sauce was flavorless. It could have benefited from some sort of a hot sauce, maybe offered on the side. Disappointing. read more

SabaRaba's is a true hidden, shipping container-dwelling gem! We've liked everything that we've tried, but standouts have been the fries with harissa mayo, falafel, and the shawarma. The service is always punctual, friendly, and all orders have been accurate while including plastic utensils. The atmosphere is...well it's a shipping container in the middle of a parking lot. However there are a couple of tables you could use. Bonus points for easy parking and easy to get to off Roswell Road. One suggestion I have is to make the online ordering more customizable. It would be nice to be able to select "no pickles, lettuce, etc." or "light tahini" when ordering. I really hope things work out for y'all, this has become our favorite takeout spot. read more

I am embarrassed for the cities of Atlanta Sandy Springs and Chamblee that this food takes up space in these municipalities and masquerades under the name of Middle Eastern. Maybe we could call it Middle Earth food if denizens of that realm had no access to quality ingredients including seasonings. Ordered a Chicken Shawarma plate which is usually a safe choice. Comparing it to the same menu item at any number of Middle Eastern restaurants it falls short. In my mind I am thinking of Middle Eastern Bakery, Ameers, and Mediterranean Grill.... You might know others...and they would all come out well in this comparison. Tasting the chicken, salad, bread, humus, tzatziki and tahini sauces, They were all shockingly inferior. To be fair the chicken was ok but maybe just in comparison to everything else. I felt like I was at a corporate chain restaurant and they were dumbing down the deliciousness that imbues food from Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Egypt and Turkey. It was convenient for me but after one taste I would drive another 8 miles in brutal Atlanta traffic for something (anything?) better. After eating the same thing my wife commented "I've never had tzatziki so bad I'd rather not have it at all". And she loves almost all versions of that yogurt cucumber sauce. read more

Good falafel is hard to find. Sabaraba's definitely is one of those rare good falafel places, where falafel is fresh and the portions are generous. Falafel balls aren't overly spiced, either. We tried the schnitzel and it was delicious, crispy and thin. Fries and Izzy completed this fresh and light lunch. read more

I'veordered in the past, and it definitely seems like the food quality has gone downhill. I ordered a chicken laffa today and despite watching it come fresh off of the grill and taking a bite three minutes later, the inside of the chicken is ice cold. Sabaraba's was a bit of a surprise. On the recommendation of a colleague who goes there to pick up his takeout dinner over the past two months since it opened. The babaganoush was fresh, the grilled chicken was wonderfully marinated and the shwarma was tasty and generous. Everyone who came by while I was there all said they come by to pick up dinner or lunch. My informal review process confirmed I was not alone in liking the food. The prices are very reasonable. Sitting under umbrellas at the brand new patio tables, the Middle Eastern music emanating from the static food truck (kitchen and serving window in a shipping container with a 100 health score) and the lights strung over the patio was a plus for the outing. I need to go back to try the Baklava. BTW--although you are in the actual parking lot, Sabaraba's is located next to a small grass island with park benches. read more
