Enjoyed the Tulip Dumplings and Thai Basil for dinner, both were excellent. Great alternative if your looking for some Asian cuisine.

The roti is great, the red curry is the best I've had in the area, Indonesian noodles are very fresh, I love noodles here. Did not like the crab rangoon, it came with a vinegar fish sauce and we didn't like the filling. Parking is awful but it's lancaster, everywhere you eat here is ridiculous. The prices are good. It's dark and small inside, it's not great for small children. But I like the food better than sukothai read more

Sa La Thai was a very pleasant surprise in a great little neighborhood in Lancaster. We were walking around our hotel and sort of stumbled across it and decided Thai sounded good. The service was terrific, all of the staff were polite and prompt, and the food was great. Highly recommend the papaya salad as a starter and the drunken noodles as a dish. It's not the cheapest place around, but they don't skimp on quality. read more

We were in search of a nice Thai place for dinner in Downtown Lancaster and we came upon Sa La Thai. Only about 5 blocks from our hotel, we walked to the restaurant and were immediatly greeted by our beautiful and friendly host. After being seated and getting settled in, we ordered our meal. A delicious order of Pad Thai and some incredible Indonesian Noodles. The noodles were out of this world, served with beef and a dark sauce and fried tofu. It was so delicious. They havd a great variety on the menu to choose from. Traditional Thai soups, salads, and appetizers. Even Roti, which was a pleasant surprise. Too many great dishes to describe, desserts, drinks, and of course, Bubble Tea. Take time out of your busy day and make a trip to Sa La Thai. A great place for a meal. They can handle groups both large and small. 3 course dinner specials are from 5p-7p if you are so inclined. Also, many gluten-free dishes available. read more

Lemongrass soup was good and spicy. Pad See Ew was tasty, but three times spicy was not too spicy. Only downsides were service was slow, but very polite, even though we were the only table and shrimp was served tail on. Better than expected for Lancaster. read more

This place was referred by a coworker of mine so decided to try it with another coworker. I like the decor if the place. Very quiet and mellow. Had the steamed chicken dumplings and the Tum Yum soup which were excellent however if you know Thai food it is known for its spiciness and it was at the low end of the mark. I had the Rama Chicken for an entree and it was good but I wanted some heat and some burn to my mouth and just wasn't there. I am willing to try this place again in the future so hoping they get it right. For now its 3 stars till I come again. read more

Rather disappointed. I've never ordered thai where I wasn't able to adjust the heat of the dishes. That tells me that this is probably pre-made. The red curry was delicious, but so spicy it was almost inedible. The green curry had a lost no flavor and was a polar opposite of the red. I guess for such pricey dishes, I expected more. I probably won't return. read more

The service was good. No complaints on service. I had only eaten Thai food in CA. I had the Pad Thai and the mango and rice dessert. Both items were alright. I ate it all. So it wasn't awful.. it just didn't taste like Thai food I had in CA. That's all. Idk if what I had in CA was more authentic or what I had here was. I'm not from Thailand, so who knows why the food in CA tasted better. You have to be your own judge and try it out on your own! read more

Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly service, food is good and prices are fair. The bubble tea is good too, not too sweet. Definitely recommend. read more

I am a Lancastrian, though I served out of the Commonwealth for 12 years. 4 years of that time was in Chicago which is known for its Thai Food, my favorite Asian fare. There were no Thai Restaurants when I left Chicago. I first met the SALA THAI when my cousins from other states, reserved the entire Dining Room, following my Aunt's Memorial Service for all those present. The food was served in Buffet Style. The moment I tasted it, I was "home," never realizing until then that the SALA THAI was here. I had eaten in other Thai Restaurants in other cities though I never found any as good as the cuisine in Chicago until the SALA THAI came into my life. I love the SALA THAI! Add too, that the Service is excellent. read more

I've been here twice now, both time for lunch. The lunch special is a good amount of food for the right price. The spring rolls, glass noodle soup, lemon grass soup, and drunken noodles were all delicious. Staff is also very friendly and attentive. read more

Very, very good Thai food. The drunken noodles were excellent, and the pad thai also very good. Heads up: BYOB. Not quite five stars, the service was a bit slow but exceedingly polite, and a request for 'just a little spicy' aka two peppers had us draining water glasses. read more

My hubby had the Thai Basil fried rice and I had the Lunch special- Coconut soup, Thai Cabbage Salad and the Green Curry. Everything was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection! The vegetable were still crisp and full of flavor. We will definitely be coming back!! read more

We got calamari and were a little disappointed, it was chewy (more than most) and the batter tasted a little eggy (sp?), but the sauce was very good. I got drunken noodles with shrimp, it was excellent. I was very happy with the meal all around. We went on a Tuesday evening and were alone by the end of the meal, service was good and not pushy. read more

Not sure how this place warrants four stars. The lemon grass soup had no love in it. Blah at best. First time there so what must one try? Pud Thai. Got beef. Big mistake. Tough, tough, tough. Overall lacking flavor. I am used to an array of condiments on the table. None here. Asked for and got tiny little fish sauce and the sweet Sriracha. Nothing here warrants four stars. read more

Tasty food, very inexpensive and it's got a wonderful menu. I've gone there many times and enjoyed every entree.

Sorry yelpers: FAIL. This is not a real thai place. this dont compare to any thai place in new york city or vancouver. Let me start with the appetizers. We ordered lemon grass mussel. It is 6 dollars and change and came with 6 mussels. Its a shame because we get more im new york for 13 dollars. I dont care about the price but the mussels were so dry. The "lemon grass" tasted like nothing. The rotti was a joke. The curry was weird. The flat bread uhm... they only gave a few small pieces. The shrimp pad thai is decent. You can tell the noodles were soaked too long in water. The basil tilapia is decent as well. I guess im used to bigger proportions when it comes to my asian food. bottom line. Go to another restaurant when you are in lancaster. read more

Excellent Thai food in Lancaster, PA The restaurant is very nicely decorated with original Thai pieces brought to USA by the owners and the decor is appealing, while remaining simple and unpretentious. The restaurant is large enough, yet intimate enough to enjoy your meal. Menu-wise, it has numerous selections that are common with other Thai places, and a few signature dishes. Unlike other places, you can tell the wait staff how spicy you want your food, from 1 (mild) to 5 (rocket fuel). My number 3 spice was just right and, next time, I will try a number 4 spice level, as I am confident that I can take it. Service was prompt and courteous, the owner stopped by to check on us, everything was great. There is no alcohol service, but, honestly, you do not need alcohol to dull your sense of taste. The food is too good to miss out on the flavor. I wish I could say more, but I was so pleased with everything, from food to service, that I am confidently giving it 5 stars and recommend you go there and enjoy the delicious food yourselves. read more

So delicious, clean and attentive. You won't find me eating Thai cuisine anywhere but here.

When we do have the craving for Thai food in Lancaster, this is where we end up. The drunken noodles are really good. Their dishes are not as spicy and tart as the Thai restaurants that I have tried in other cities, but overall this place is pretty darn good! They also have great Thai iced tea. read more

I really love their Spicy Drunken Noodles! They always seem to hit the spot. Another great one is the coconut soup! Love Sa La Thai!

Great Thai food! The flavor was excellent. The delivery was really prompt. Overall, a great meal!

One of our favorite spots in Lancaster. Always fresh and always tasty. The atmosphere is much more low key than suko Thai but the food is a notch higher. The staff is always friendly. Gets busy on first Fridays but otherwise fairly easy to get a table. Best meals are "Thai basil" and "tamarind duck". We have been coming here for nearly 5 years and they have been consistently great food. read more

Great food, prices and staff. My friends and I ordered the food to go and went down the street to the park to eat. No complaints at all

Came here for an early dinner on Saturday with my sister and friend. We asked to sit in the window as the rest of the restaurant didn't have the best atmosphere, but they said it was reserved (no one sat there while we were in the restaurant however). Their dinner special ($10) came with a soup, app, and entree. Great price for all that food! The portions were on the smaller side, however after having all three courses, we were stuffed. The service was very quick - almost too quick though, like we were being pushed through and out the door as quickly as possible. I got coconut soup, spring rolls, and panang curry. The coconut soup was good, however the mushrooms in it were not cooked, just put in raw. The spring roll was delicious and fresh. The panang curry was OK, but I've had better curry (at Sukothai). If you want something quick and cheap, this is the place. They are BYOB which was nice. read more

The place might seem a bit dark upon entering, but the service is great. I ordered the Pad Thai and it is the best version of the dish I've tasted within 100 miles. Prices are somewhat on the high side, but not unreasonable for authentic Asian cuisine. read more

Really great Thai food! It's also nice because it is BYOB and the decor is not for everyone but I love the flowered table clothes and environment. It never gets really crowded (a lot of people get takeout) so it has a nice atmosphere. There lunch specials are also amazing you get all this food for only 10$ (recommend the drunken noodles) read more

Amazing dumplings. Had the tofu and veggies with Panyang curry and coconut milk. Very nice. All 5 of us had a memorable experience. Service was amiable, attentive, and welcoming. We'll be back. read more

I often order from here and pickup, parking can usually be hard to find. Pad Thai here is oh. so. delicious. And I can't find better crispy crab rangoon anywhere else, and they have a plum dipping sauce that is very good too. I suggest eating in, as the atmosphere is really nice and usually quiet. Prices are so so, worth it in my opinion. read more

Dined with my fiancé back in December of 2018, and we ordered the chicken satay as an app, and after we had started eating it we realized we were served raw chicken. Not even slightly raw, but barely browned on the outside and completely raw when you bit into it. They said sorry and grabbed it off of the table and said we would not be charged for it, which is fine. I did not plan to go back after that experience but over this weekend I decided to order take out to give another menu item a shot. I picked up my order and headed home. Half way home I got a call that they charged my card twice but refunded it- minor inconvenience, sure but not a huge deal. I got home and started eating only to find the drunken noodles were full of egg shells. Not okay. I don't think I can give them another try. read more

We happened to stumble upon Sa La Thai for lunch while looking around the Lancaster Arts scene. What a great surprise. They had a terrific lunch special with soup, appetizer and entree for $9. The coconut soup was excellent. The spring rolls and cabbage salad were quite good but the Pad Thai was some of the best I have had. Perfectly seasoned with a sweeter and less bitter tamarind base. I added a bit of hot sauce but it was excellent for most palates. The service was excellent and very reminiscent of when I visited Thailand. The server was extremely polite and efficient. If you happen to visit Lancaster, check out this gem. read more

Best Thai around! If you have not yet been here, don't wait another minute. They have so many veggie and gluten free options as well as excellent meat dishes. This place is around the corner from my house and has become quite addicting. I highly recommend this place. read more

Sa La Thai is my favorite thai restaurant in the city proper. The wait staff is attentive to the point that occasionally I don't want to drink any more water as they'll be back over to refill my glass. Their weekday lunch combination is an excellent deal. I love the vegetarian/vegan options including mock duck. Pretty hard to miss with anything on the menu. Some of my faves include: drunken noodles, garlic eggplant, pho. Reasonably priced and delicious. read more

Do not deny yourself the taro cakes, yum!

Best Thai food in Lancaster City ! Amazing specials and the staff there are super sweet. Lunch specials are THEE best thing on the menu.

I cannot get enough of this place. The lunch special is amazing! I usually always get the drunken noodles as my entree, but today I decided to go with the chicken pad thai (wonderful choice). I switch up the soups and appetizers I get because they're all scrumptious. A must try if you're in the Lancaster area! read more

Food and service excellent, I usually get the drunken noodles and they are great. Good tasting hearty hot and sour soup also

This place is wonderful. I've been several times and have enjoyed excellent meals and service. Not only is the food top notch; but what really distinguishes this place is their never-ending attitude of service. My wife and I usually each order a soup, and then split an appetizer and entree. That seems to be the perfect combination of food and flavors. I have also enjoyed a dinner with a large group of 17 and the restaurant was more than up to the task. If you visit, sa la Thai will not disappoint. read more
