After being in the cold and rain all day, all I wanted was a hot bowl of congee. Not believing I would find any in this part of PA, I opted for the egg drop wonton soup combo. It was just what I needed. Plenty of wontons also in the soup. Food was steaming hot for such a cold day. I also ordered the beef chow fun and the husband got Mongolian beef. The chow fun was great and no deviations from what I would normally get. Husband was surprised by the amount of food he got for the price we paid. Have you ever heard the story of the Little Engine that Could? That's a good place to start with this little restaurant. It isn't very big, but it's selection and service is equal to most large Chinese buffets. The selection of typical Chinese fare is extensive. There is not much in the way of exotic offerings, so it is more of a traditional American style Chinese Restaurant. Food is alway served hot but not to the point of being too hot to enjoy. Serving dishes are never filled to heaped and overflowing to ensure that only the freshest product makes it to the customer. The floors are for the most part clean. This place is always busy indicating many folks share my sentiments. You will even find a small offering of sushi here. While it is not necessarily a "sushi bar", there are a few common offerings that always taste fresh and appetizing. There is ample parking in front of the establishment. No on street parking necessary. The restrooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Takeout is also available per pound. Overall this establishment earns high marks! read more

Food was good, not great. We all ate from the buffet, which had a lot of variety of options, but could have benefited from greater focus on the quality. Rice, both white and fried, is so important as a base in Asian cuisine, but Panda's offering was honestly dry and hard to finish. The shrimp was actually quite good with a flavorful seasoning, and the fried noodles hit the spot. If you're looking for a quick bite at a reasonable price, Panda is worth trying. Just take smaller portions with your first plate to "test things out" and then go back for what tastes good with your second helping. The food here is insane. I picked up the General Tso's Chicken, Boneless Spare Ribs, and Shrimp Fried Rice. I have a high tolerance for spicy food, and I could tell that the General Tso's chicken was the littlest bit spicy, which everywhere else it's generally just super sweet with an umami flavor. The spare ribs were great. The fried rice here is unlike fried rice anywhere. I don't know what they do, and I generally don't eat rice like that, but I absolutely demolished that fried rice before I touched anything else. Absolutely mind blowing. Very small, food is bland, no taste, "chicken" doesn't really taste like chicken, food looks like it's been sitting there all day. And the servers were somewhat decent. Lancaster Counties best-kept secret. Dinner after 4pm at Panda Garden is amazing! Sweetest, best flavor, firm, large, shrimp cocktail. Cleaned, peeled, deveined. Best chicken on a stick anywhere I've ever had. Best coconut shrimp I've ever had too. Great sushi and all of the rest of the Chinese buffet fare, at a great price. Not gigantic like some places but excellent quality. We have been driving from Lancaster, Pa. to New Holland, Pa. for years to eat here. The restaurant was full when we arrived for Sunday lunch, but they seated us quickly. The food at the buffet was very fresh. I was excited that they had my favorite Chinese dessert, sesame balls filled with sweet bean paste. They were even freshly made, still warm and soft. read more

I only came here based on the 4 and 5 star reviews of others here on YELP. Today I have learned a valuable lesson. Do not always rely on reviews you read online. The food is mediocre at best. Very limited selection, mostly fried. The only tasty thing is the peanut chicken. So sad I didn't go to Manor Buffet or even Star Buffet in Lancaster instead. I went out of my way on the basis of Yelp reviews. The staff was large but the selection was very small. The tattooed staff was not friendly at all. The man emerged from the back room with the look like I owed him money. I should have walked out but I gave the place a try. Actually, the staff was kind of strange to me and I felt uncomfortable. I got excited that they served bourbon chicken but it tasted boiled with no flavor. Smallest buffet I've been to. This is the first Chinese I've been to in Lancaster County. Are they all this bad? Staff was polite and got me seated quickly. It was your typical Chinese-American buffet in terms of atmosphere and selection. Personally I thought the general tsos/ sesame chicken was stellar! Even for "American Chinese", I don't think it's that good, man. Someone drags me here once every year or so, and I'm only giving two stars because the coconut shrimp and the jalapeño beef on the buffet are livable. You usually know what you're getting from a place like this, boiler plate and unremarkable. I'm not sure what other buffets who also have a takeout menu do, but I expect that there's a health violation with staff scooping someone's order off the buffet instead of preparing it fresh, which I've seen more than once. I hope I'm not too out of line with my expectations, but I just don't think the chicken should be soft but dry, like it was microwaved. I don't think the veggies should be frozen, ever. I don't think that I should ever eat here again. That's why when I'm hungry and in that part of town I think, "Chinese might do", then I remember and say "ugh". I used to love this place before new ownership took over. Now the food still had a great price for the buffet, but the food sucks. I'm not 100%sure that was real chicken that I ate either. Servers are rude and always seat you right next to the only other people there.
