We ordered the oxtails, Alfredo pasta, lamb chops, fried catfish, rib tips, baked mac & cheese, and candied yams, and every single dish was on point. I think for a small establishment, the music might be a bit too loud because it can be difficult to hear each other talk, but I appreciate the high-energy vibe it brings. We stood in line behind a couple that dined in, so my guess is if you want to dine in, before grabbing a table, you stand in line and inform the cashier/host. They will follow you to the table and bring you the menu. Hubby ordered the rib tip dinner with mashed potatoes and candied yams. I ordered the fried catfish dinner with mac-n-cheese and corn. Both dinners come with garlic bread. Portions are huge. Hubby thought the ribs were okay but loved their BBQ sauce because it has a slight kick to it. I love the catfish! It is seasoned well and fried perfectly. We both ordered the Lemon Italian cream cake and took a small bite of it so I could post my review, and it is just as delicious! Shameful that she was so busy saying why she COULDN'T that she never even TRIED to help. People don't have enough common sense to know how to run business. You lose a customer who tells another customer who tells another all over $19 plus dollars. So you lose return customers and waaaay more money over $19 dollars..... THINK people. Further, how do you KNOW you have buy one get one free but sometimes the app doesn't translate it and you won't honor it? What's the difference whether it translates or not when you know your promos? That isn't my issue. Just sad. When you treat me like I need you when my money contributes to your business existence, that shows a lack of regard for my money and my time and I can just go elsewhere and take my recommendations with me. I was super excited to try this place - I come to Tinley Park/Orland Park for concerts and other random things and it's nice to become familiar with some new restaurants. Came for a lovely weekday lunch and ENJOYED the foooddd immensely. Was were greeted kindly by the cashier who was very helpful in assisting us in our meal choice. I opted to try the grilled chicken plate, which came with 2 sides (chose rice + black beans) and garlic bread and I added a side of some pineapple/coconut cake. Lots of seating, good air conditioning, and everything looked updated. Food came was ready within 10 min of ordering and it was LOVELY. The grilled chicken plate is honestly what I have been looking for and one of my favorite meals I've had in recent months - sometimes, I want a good, simple plate and this WAS IT. The grilled chicken was tender but flavorful, the rice was fluffy and the black beans were not too salty (and the nice thing about this is you can add salt if you want more). And the best part of topping off the meal was CAKE!!! We went with pineapple/coconut - it was decent, possibly a little dry but I also don't eat pineapple/coconut cake often so this might be the way this particular cake comes. They have sooo many other dessert offerings, that I'll try another flavor next time. Also to mention - they randomly have a full bar/wine/beer. I saw a friend post about S2 Express Grill and when I looked it up, I was glad to see a location within 15 minutes of my house. I went on a Sunday morning and although the hours indicated that it opened at 10am, the worker was running a few minutes late, so the restaurant wasn't actually open. I appreciated that she was super apologetic and moved really quickly. She was also very kind and even brought our food to the table we were seated at vs. calling us back to the counter. I ordered French toast, eggs scrambled with onions and cheese and bacon. The food was ready pretty quickly and it tasted great. Prices are reasonable and the available seating was nice and clean. My only recommendation is that if they know you are eating there, to have plastic disposable plates. All the food is prepared as if it's to go, so you're sitting at the table eating out of styrofoam/plastic containers and aluminum foil, which is a bit odd. The food here is GREAT, like capital G great! Their catfish, candied yams, and mac and cheese are just like grandma's house. Their cocktails? Boozy, and I'm not mad about it. Here's a tip: order to-go because the portions are bigger. We ordered in, changed our minds, and when we got our food ($90) we were shocked at the portion sizes (example: we ordered a side of asparagus and received 6 tiny asparagus wrapped in foil for $7!!!). We asked about it and the lady at the register explained that we ended up with smaller portions since they go by plate size for dine-in. Our food was made to order and since we changed our mind, they don't remake the food. It was disappointing to hear, especially compared to the cost - and only after pushing back and expressing our disappointment was she willing to "at least" refund the dine-in service fee from our order. If it weren't for the customer service, I'd give more stars. I was advised by another customer to try a different location next time. Overall comment as a first time customer: the items chosen tonight were tasty! Food presentation rating: great! It was 10:10 PM when we got there and there were four people ahead of us. Two people came in for a pick up order. Even with that, service was excellent! The cashier girl was very patient and was as thorough as she could be (she was in training, yet pretty independent). She even kindly mentioned that the order already came with a bread when one of my family members chose bread as his side option; having two pieces of bread would have been surprised and unwanted (Thank you for your great customer service ). The night manager was also attentive ^_^ she gave me and one of my company both sauce options. She also checked in again at the end to make sure we did not need additional boxes to go. I chose the four chicken tenders with fries. The menu said it comes with bread, which was forgotten, but I am very okay with because I was full after eating all the fries and only two tenders. My other three family members that came with me choose the dinner option with comes with two sides of your choice and bread. Pictured: lamb chop dinner with the sides of black beans and mac and cheese; fried cat fish dinner (can also be baked if you prefer) with the sides of candied yams and a side salad; and the smoked turkey leg with the sides of corn and a side salad. All the meats were perfectly tender!! The lamb chop and turkey leg were juicy. My husband and I decided to have date night here. We try to patronize black owned restaurants as much as possible. We used the order kiosk for our food. The cashier brought our food to the table and announce they didn't have any cake or cheesecake as we ordered. All they had was chocolate mousse. We asked for a refund on our desserts, but she claimed she didn't know how to complete a refund on the kiosk. How is that possible? You were not greeted nicely by the woman at the counter I asked for my order she asked for verification. I thought it was kind of rude the way she asked I came home to eat this try this food out. People are raving about this food so legit, the catfish, the jerk catfish it's smothered with just a sauce of Jerk I thought it was gonna be like a nice sauce, marinated catfish fried catfish was bland. Decided to stop here and pick up some lunch on my way home from getting my car serviced. I am extermely disappointed to have spent $38 on food that was completely trash. I ordered 1 ulta rolls that were too salty, over fried, dry and the cashier told me they were prerolled. I ordered one dirty rice that was just horrible and 1 baked mac and cheese that tasted ok. I left a tip because as a african american female restaurant business owner myself I like to support my own kind.
