The vanilla iced coffee is actually really really good. I actually prefer it over a lot of other places. If you go between 2 and 5 PM, you get a two dollar iced coffee. I tried the vanilla bean glazed donut, and it was very fresh and not dry at all. I will say it tastes very similar to your regular glazed donut. Next time I probably will try something more special. read more

The gluten free donuts were to die for. I had the chocolate and the cinnamon, which were both EXCELLENT. I was in the area for a conference and just stumbled upon Do Rite Donuts. Part of me wishes I lived closer so I could buy them more often, but also I guess it's good it's an infrequent treat. I'll be back when I'm in town for the next conference! I bought a half-dozen to take home to my family read more

My fiance had had donuts from this place before and bought a bunch when guests were coming for breakfast. He got a mix of flavors including raspberry pie, lemon blueberry, double chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate glazed, pistachio Meyer Lemon, original glazed, and cream cheese Danish. The ones I had parts of (we cut them into pieces so everyone could try different flavors) were the raspberry pie, pistachio Meyer Lemon, and chocolate cake. All were delicious, and it was also nice that they weren't too sweet, as these things go. I also appreciate that these weren't the trendy style of donuts with too many toppings. Neither of us has tried their chicken, so maybe next time! read more

Overall this place was pretty good. The chicken sandwich was solid. I had the spicy, it wasn't really spicy imo. And i don't do much hot, so if I say it was mild trust me it was. The fries were OK. Fresh and hot. Nothing special. They also have donuts. They were really tasty, had the apple fritter, was a good apple fritter. Had the vanilla bean glazed donut. Taste like a regular glaze donut. I was hoping for that vanilla bean flavor. Disappointed but who doesn't like glaze donuts. read more

I love getting gluten free donuts from here. They are delicious and moist. They are a little more the texture of cake donuts than yeast donuts, but not dry or crumbly at all and they are very big (compared to other GF donuts I've had)! I personally prefer the frosted donuts, like the chocolate, vanilla or birthday cake, rather than the cinnamon sugar. It's so easy to pull up to the drive through, order the donuts and then pull around and be served them at the window! I've actually never been inside so I'm not sure what the shop looks like. But I highly recommend it regardless! I go here regularly when I'm in town! read more

Great donuts! I tried both the regular as well as the gluten free options and honestly, the gluten free donuts were lighter and very tasty. The only thing I did notice is that Do-Rite donuts do taste pretty greasy. If you're lucky you will get Markeese - he's the best! He's very helpful, makes great suggestions and is super friendly. I woke up late and did not have time to make breakfast for myself! No problem the friendly folks at this location are quick and efficient. They have good coffee, donuts, and a tasty applewood smoked bacon breakfast sandwich. Once you have their donuts you will never go back to Dunkin. I don't even have to get out of my car because I utilize their drive thru. Also, I would like to thank the management here because I have family members with egg and nut allergies and I expressed my concerns via email regarding their vegan donut options. Well, the manager got back to me fairly quickly and laid my concerns to rest about their vegan options. I also, emailed Stan's donuts in Orland Pk and they didn't even bother to get back to me! Therefore, I am now a regular at this location. I do recommend you give them a try! read more

I was in the area on a trip and a couple of people had told me how good this place was. I was initially a bit skeptical as I am not very familiar with the Chicago area and was questioning the idea that amazing donuts and sandwiches could be served at a gas station. I'm glad that I overcame my skepticism and stopped by on the last day of my trip, because I was blown away. Do-Rite is more like a small restaurant that just happens to be located within the gas station. It was extremely inviting and clean. While I did not try the chicken or breakfast sandwiches, the donuts were phenomenal. I had the apple cider donut and it was fresh and generously sized. I liked that coffee is only $1 with the purchase of a donut as well. read more

I usually stop by this Do Rite on a weekly basis. At first I started ordering the buttermilk old fashioned. Then I decided to try the maple and bacon, chocolate long John, and the blueberry donut. I must say Do Rite has never done me wrong. The old fashioned has a nice crust exterior and the inside of the donut is soft. The chicken sandwich is pretty good, but a little dry. The chicken tenders are my favorite. Especially when the tenders are spicy. The fries are fresh and slightly crunchy. I recommend a side of their homemade barbecue sauce. Packed with a lot of unique flavor. Do rite is one of my top five favorite donut spot. Enjoy! read more

We always try to make a stop at Do-Rite when we are in the Chicago area. We found them years ago when our daughter lived up in Chicago and now that we don't have a reason to visit Chicago, when we are traveling in the area we have to make a stop. This time it was a late in the day and they were out of our favorite. To our surprise after we had ordered and sat down, the owners daughters brought us some special made ones and made our day. This location charges a 3% surcharge and there is no signage regarding this fact. Just because its covid a corporation should not charge a surcharge without proper notification. Whenever I ask for the surcharge to be removed the manager seems to have an attitude. I have already notified corporate twice and there has been no action taken! Lousy service to sneak a charge without the customer being. You are a large business who makes tons of money to sneak a fee to not allowing a person to choose! Today my fiancé and I tried the confetti cupcake, and we honestly really did not like it at all. The buttercream tasted like super strong shortening or strictly butter taste. Nothing like any other buttercreams I've tried at other bakeries. It was not good. We also tried the strawberries and cream cupcake, and that was better than the confetti cupcake, but tasted unfortunately very artificial tasting, and neither of us were a fan of that either. The bakery has really nice cakes, everyone is friendly, but we just did not like the cupcakes, unfortunately. Cupcakes are around $3 each.

The hostess staff was quite pleasant as was all the waitstaff. Kat was our server and she did a great job. My wife and I split the Gypsy Skillet. It was real tasty and it was huge. We could barely finish it. Our friend's breakfast was also huge. She took half of it home including half her pancakes. Huck Finn Restaurant

After years of visiting the 24-hour location on Cicero in Oak Lawn, my dad and I finally landed…read moreearly enough to try the Pulaski location. It may be the original location, or that honor may go to the yet unvisited-by-me third location closer to the Loop, but in any case, this Huck Finn definitely feels different from the one I'm used to. The lighting fixtures, booths, and art all have the same tacky early-2000s feel as the other location, but that's where the similarities end. This one is much smaller, although its dessert-case area has its own tables, and the outside of the building advertises ice cream. This Huck Finn feels like a coffee shop, which is probably why my dad says he likes it more than the "original"--original to us, at least. It has a counter, and while the building looks large from outside, it has about half the seating of Oak Lawn. There's a funky mirror near the bathrooms that makes it look like there's a back dining room--or possibly a Den of Iniquities like the original--but it's all an optical illusion. Service is quick and efficient, as it is at Oak Lawn. Our server, though, was a familiar no-nonsense throwback to an earlier time. Oak Lawn has some of those, but most of its servers are younger women with the thickest Chicago/Great Lakes accents you'll ever hear. (Seriously, although they're all under thirty-five, they sound like they're about to start collecting Social Security.) She was short on small talk, but she made up for it with sass and a whole lot of hard work. The food is good, although the menu is more limited than Oak Lawn's. One thing I don't like is that the menus are flimsy printouts. Oak Lawn at least has laminated pages, although I miss the old multi-page booklet-style menus. Oh well. They have Texas and Alaska donuts here, so it's a legit Huck Finn. It's physically possible to make a left turn onto Pulaski from their parking lot, but I think it's illegal, as you'd have to cross a quadruple yellow line. I spotted two cop cars near here, one when we were arriving, and one when we left, so be careful out there.

Thankfully, Maple House Café on Lincoln Highway was open--and it absolutely did not disappoint. I should note that the restaurant is bigger on the inside than it appears from the front. Very spacious, warm and inviting. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived, but we were seated almost immediately in a cozy spot by the window. The atmosphere was very pleasant...dining room was clean, bright, peaceful, and comfortable, with plenty of natural light that made the atmosphere very comfortable without feeling noisy or chaotic. The food was outstanding. My daughter is a picky eater, so when she RAVES about her food I know folk are doing something right. She loved the eggs so much that she cleaned her plate, and she also really enjoyed the house-made sausage patties. She was okay with her pancake but kept reaching over to steal bites of my cream cheese-stuffed French toast topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. It was sweet without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. It struck a perfect balance. I ordered lightly scrambled eggs with feta, and they prepared them exactly the way I like them. I also ordered the sausage links and was surprised when three huge, perfectly seasoned links arrived on the plate. They were delicious. The portions here are incredibly generous. In fact our delightful server brought a fresh fruit waffle to our table by mistake, and told us to keep it on the house. So glad she did cuz that waffle was ...crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent from beginning to end. Everyone we encountered from the hosts to our server to the staff clearing tables were all genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive. Considering they were spending part of their holiday serving others instead of being with family, their positive attitudes made an even bigger impression. My daughter was also happy about the strawberry lollipop she got on the way out, which was, for her, the perfect ending to a great breakfast. Great food, generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend Maple House Café and will definitely be back.
