She is really good at makeup. She did bridal makeup for Pooja. She helped transform Pooja from beautiful to stunningly gorgeous. I would highly recommend Susie to anyone and everyone. Thanks susie read more

I worked with Susie and Pheobe for my wedding and both were great. I came in for the trial a week in advance and was pleased that Susie was willing to adjust, pull, and tuck in order to experiment until we found what worked. I actually requested a mod theme wedding look - which meant lot's of height in the hair and very very dark eyes. The girls did a great job. All bridesmaids looked spectacular. Not conventional at all - but handled beautifully by Susie and Pheobe. I highly recommend false lashes - even for a wedding. Practically speaking - the girls arrived promptly at 9AM, were done 30 min before the estimated time, and that's accommodating one unplanned hair/make-up session. They were polite, fun, flexible and left me with a few extras for touch-ups. It was a pleasure working with them. read more

Susie did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and it was one of the best wedding decisions I made! After reading all of her great reviews, I knew I would be willing to spend the money on her so hair and makeup wouldn't be something for me to worry about at all. Susie was very responsive and professional when we were communicating about all the logistical stuff. On the day of the wedding she and her assistant were prompt and super fun to work with. Susie and I reviewed the notes I had given her after my trial session, and I have to say she did an extremely amazing job on me! I loved absolutely everything about my hair and makeup...not a single complaint. I felt so comfortable with the makeup and it turned out great in pictures. Susie's a delight to be around and is worth hiring to make your special day complete. :) read more

Cheers to Susie! Thank you for accommodated me in 45 minutes to do a quick hair and make up session for my engagement shoot. Though we had very little time, Susie was definitely keen on hearing me out in what I was looking for... which was a bit vague and non nondescript but she was able to make some really great suggestions. As a make up minimalist I was a bit nervous about looking over done but Susie did a nice job of enhancing my features and making me feel more confident. Our pictures turned out great! I got a lot of compliments and no doubt some of that credit definitely goes to Susie. read more

Susie did an amazing job on my wedding day!! I was probably the most indecisive bride, I was even debating about my hair style the night before the wedding. And the day before I even changed my makeup timeline for the wedding day. Susie was so calm, patient and super responsive via email and text. She showed up on time and managed everything so well, I haven't got photos from pros, but even from the photos from the guests, the makeup look great!! I will definitely comes back to her if I need makeup for any photo shoot later. Thanks Susie!! read more

Love the natural makeup and pretty hair style created by Susie! Susie is really professional, organized, innovative, and artistic. She learnt my preference carefully before I came and fully discussed with me about the style. Having a good understanding of her client, good sense of beauty, and good choice of cosmetics, she created the makeup and hair style just what I like, or even better than my imagination! Thanks so much, Susie, for making my day! read more

Just excellent! I did a trial for my wedding with Susie and absolutely loved the result! Susie did my makeup and hair for my wedding and she and her team also did hair and makeup for my sister, mother and mother-in-law. The final result was simply stunning!!! I was incredibly happy - everyone looked absolutely beautiful! I would highly recommend Susie - she is professional, easy to work with and most importantly talented! read more

Susie did my makeup for my 30th birthday party. I came into her studio in SF, which has really convenient weekend street parking. She was totally on time and finished the hair/makeup in exactly 2 hours. I was really impressed, since most stylists always run over since my hair is super thick and takes forever to do! She is super cool and totally got what I wanted. My hair and makeup lasted all night. So excited to finally find a go to hair/makeup person for my special occasion needs! read more

Susie is AWESOME!!! My photographer (Fern Lee) recommended Susie last minute for our city hall elopement and what a good choice. I wasn't planning on getting my hair and make up done but I was able to book her a day or two before (our ceremony was on a Wednesday) and she did an amazing job!!! I was going for a very natural look and she made my hair and make up look perfect. Susie was so sweet and consultative and knew exactly what I was going for (even without a trial). I would highly recommend Susie for your wedding day (or any day) hair and make up!!! I will definitely go back to her if I have another special occasion. Thanks Susie!!! read more

Susie is an AWESOME hair & makeup artist!!! I couldn't be more pleased with her work on my wedding day. She is extremely helpful, personable, and efficient. I'm very picky when it comes to hair and makeup. Susie was knowledgeable and provided her honest opinions to help me decide on a look that would bring out my best features. I went for a natural look for my makeup, and a soft/romantic updo for my hair. I highly recommend Susie - you can't go wrong with her! :) read more

Susie is amazing. She makes sure you are completely satisfied with your makeup before letting you walk out the door. She is genuinely concerned with what is best for you and your skin. She's not the kind of person who would push extra services on you just for profit. She talked me out of airbrushing ($25 extra) because it wasn't right for my skin type. That kind of honesty is really special and I think rare these days. I had an event that I wanted very natural makeup for, and she carried out my requests exactly. She also works quickly and efficiently, but with obvious care and attention. Susie is a very talented makeup artist, and your makeup with reflect that. read more

I would recommend Susie and her team to any other brides looking for a make-up artist in a heart beat! They are very good at what they do. They didn't just do the bare minimum, but went the extra mile to make sure everybody was happy with their hair and make-up. And offered to make any changes if it wasn't to our satisfaction. Although they had to get to our place super, super early--they were still very cheery and so pleasant to be around. :) future brides--you won't be disappointed with Susie and her team! read more

Susie was awesome. She helped me and my friend get ready for the Grammy's award show in LA this year. She was on time and very professional. Hair and makeup turned out great plus she was super fast! Double lash extensions really brought out my eyes. Loved it! Too bad she is not based in NYC :-\ Thanks so much for all your help! read more

I am so happy to found Susie. I've try so many make-up and hair artiest in the Bay Area, but all end with disappointment. If you want to look your best on your big day, Susie is the right choice. She is very detailed and make every thing look flawless. She is very sweet and easy to work with. Susie is great at communicating her idea and make sure I was conformable and understand what she is going to do and the look before she proceed. The hair and make up lasted the whole day, she even did my hair in a way that I can have a second look for the reception with simply removing couple bobby pins or put my hair to one side. Thanks to Susie, I look amazing on my wedding day! read more

In November I went to a wedding as a guest and since Ann did a beautiful job at my wedding, , I decided to use Susie Chhuor's services again. This time Susie did my hair and makeup. My hair is straight and I have never dyed it or done anything harsh to it, so it doesn't hold curls very well, but I really wanted to have wavy hair. Susie somehow managed to do a wavy half up/half down hairstyle that lasted all night, and my makeup was flawless. I would trust Susie, Ann or any of the master stylists at Susie Chhuor to do my hair and makeup for any occasion. read more

Nikki did my, MOB and MOG hair and makeup for my wedding and she did an AMAZING job! She was extremely punctual, even showing up at my venue earlier than me to ensure she was absolutely prepared to meet time deadlines, etc. She was also very responsive to any questions/feedback/suggestions, knowing when to provide her expert opinion and when to be flexible based on our thoughts. I'd highly recommend her to anyone who's interested in getting the professionalism and quality of Susie at a more affordable price. read more

Susie's service was AMAZING!! I booked her for myself and my maid of honor for an engagement/wedding photo session in San Francisco. She understood our needs quickly and did a great job on our makeup and hair. Susie was super friendly and skillful. She made clear explanation on every step and answered our questions patiently. Highly highly recommended! read more

Finding the perfect wedding makeup and hair artist usually takes a lot of time but I lucked out after finding Susie, who is extremely talented at both. She is very easy going and a joy to work with. I received so many compliments after the trial and during the wedding. The makeup lasted the whole day and I didn't need to touch up, even after 10 hours! She also did makeup and hair for my mom, mother in law, and best friend and they were all stunned at how gorgeous they looked. If you want a fresh, natural, beautiful look, Susie has the master skills to make it happen! read more

Susie's makeup artistry rivals any of the top makeup artists you can find! I compared her to some top bridal and runway MUAs in NYC that I trialed with and she was the best! I am a huge makeup junkie and finding the right makeup artist was a top priority for me. I knew right away I made the right decision---all the other MUAs I trialed with were just ok (I have exacting standards). Susie has a way of knowing what will look best with your features and exactly how to enhance your natural beauty. In fact, many of my bridesmaids remarked that this was the best makeup they have ever had done on them. Also, up until now, I didn't think MUAs would be good at hairstyling and vice versa but Susie proved me wrong! She's an inspiration and I've already learned so much from her regarding makeup application. For someone who appears so young, she's super experienced and ultra-professional. If I have one piece of advice for brides, it's to select vendors not only for their talents but also for their professionalism, enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile for their clients. Susie is the full package. She's responsive, helpful, and always inquiring how her clients feel. Trust me when I say, run, not walk to book her! read more

Although my favorite Disney princess is Ariel, what girl doesn't dream about being transformed like Cinderella for their wedding day?! I searched high and low online for a reputable hair and makeup artist before settling between 3 choices. The other 2 choices did not make the cut (one lagged through response and the other didn't sound confident in her work even through email). Susie's responses were quick and thorough just like her work; I was very impressed with my trial and felt completely at ease with her from the very beginning. We did my trial at her home so she is very accommodating. I showed her just 2 pictures and she knew exactly what I wanted. In under 2 hours, I was transformed into a better looking me!! I would call her my "fairy god mother" except the title sounds like she would be an old lady; she is totally not!!! Makeup application was quick and didn't feel cakey, eye makeup wasn't too dramatic but just enough, hair was amazing! On the morning of my wedding, she arrived right on time and was very accommodating of my family since my living room wasn't completely clear for her to setup. We still finished on time (actually early) and my makeup and hair stayed the whole entire day! Susie is very clean, prompt, and her skills are excellent. I have already booked Susie again for my dinner banquet I will be having in November because she is just that good!!! read more

Susie did my makeup for my anniversary photos and I was so happy with the results! Makeup was natural and lashes were full! Susie is fun to work with and very professional and listened to my concerns and what I wanted. She was able to fit me in on somewhat of short notice and she responds to her emails very quickly and her prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend her! read more

I was dreading a huge event that I had to attend because when it comes to hair and make-up I am completely clueless. I e-mailed Susie and got a response right away - and she was able to fit me in just 2 days before the event! I went to see her at her studio on Fillmore in San Francisco. The whole experience was great. She asked me about what I wanted and talked me through everything she was doing (probably because I was flinching so much). She made a custom airbrush color and lip color for me, and she even gave me the lip color so I could touch it up later. She had her own ideas about what to do with my hair, and even though it never curls, it stayed curly for the next 9 hours! When she finished, she made sure I was satisfied and was willing to change whatever I wanted. It was a really great experience and I felt totally comfortable chatting with Susie the entire time. If you're on the fence about booking Susie - just do it! You won't regret it! read more

i'm SOOOOO happy that Susie has set up shop in the Bay Area!!! she did my MU+hair for our engagement pix in SoCal a few years ago and i went back to Susie this past Saturday for our maternity photo shoot and, once again, Susie came thru w/ flying colors!!! i gave her a couple of pix before as my inspiration and she did exactly what i asked but even better! she's a great listener and grants all of your MU+hair wishes. =) she's extremely talented, creative, attentive, and accommodating. i've recommended her to quite a few friends who were/are getting married b/c i totally trust that Susie will take great care of them. you cannot go wrong with at least doing a trial w/ Susie for your special occasion(s)!! and even if you don't, you still can't go wrong w/ just booking her! grab her before she books up and let's keep this talented gem in the bay!!! =) read more

I worked with Susie for my engagement shoot. She was extremely sweet right from the beginning. My appointment was at 6.30 a.m and I was running a few mins late and she was so accommodating. We went through the details of the look and in just a matter of over an hour, she managed to work her magic! The makeup and hair was just beautiful and it stayed intact an entire day! I will definitely come back to Susie for any future events, she is a real find! read more

I recently had Susie tattoo my eyebrows. I have never had a tattoo before so I have to say I was very hesitant. Susie was extremely through in explaining every step of the process and putting my mind at ease. Her attention to detail was amazing. When I was younger everyone would compliment me on my Brooke Shields type eyebrows. I am very happy to say Susie gave them back to me. read more

Susie did my hair and makeup for my wedding as well as the hair and make up for my mom and 3 bridesmaids on the day of the wedding! She is truly like Super Woman! Not only did she do it all herself, she also made the trek down to San Diego to do it! Everyone LOVED their look! Working with Susie was truly a pleasure from start to finish. Nicole was super helpful and responsive in booking the trial runs and the day of wedding schedule. My trial with Susie went great but the best part was for the day of wedding, she had really studied the photos from the trial session and made some subtle changes that made me look even better! I love how she is confident with what she does and not afraid to make suggestions but also makes sure that you like the look. I don't normally wear much make up day to day and Susie did an excellent job making me look natural but accentuated my features! Especially for Asian brides out there, it's so hard to find a makeup artist that can work with asian skin tones/features and hair textures. Susie (and Sunny who did my engagement hair/makeup) are truly skilled at this and that is what makes them stand out! Best of all, Susie has such a great personality and really cares that her clients are happy with the results! I will no doubt always go to Susie and her girls for my hair and makeup needs! read more

Susie was amazing! Few people do both makeup and hair well - she hits it out of the park! She was able to travel to our wedding destination and we did our trial run on the day of our rehearsal dinner. We didn't meet before then, but because of all the positive Yelp reviews I felt very secure in my decision and I was right! On the day of the wedding I felt beautiful and the makeup and hair lasted all day! It ended up raining the entire day of the wedding and our photographer was worried we might not have enough shots so we set up a 2nd photo shoot during our honeymoon in Napa. Susie got up before dawn to make it there and did the hair and makeup in our hotel room - now that is definitely going above and beyond! All three experiences were wonderful - she really understands customer service and you can tell she truly cares about her job and her clients. A couple days ago our wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty and everyone said the makeup and hair were beautiful. Thank you again, Susie! read more

I was nervous when I first contacted Susie because I never had my hair or makeup done professionally before and did not know what to expect. Susie was very considerate of my limited experience with makeup and tailored the makeup so that I was comfortable through a long night of awards, conversation, and dancing. During the session, she constantly made sure that the makeup felt okay, informed me of what she was doing next, and asked what my thoughts were. Susie never rushed me or dismissed any of my many concerns. I had so many compliments at the banquet that I returned to Susie again two days later to do my hair and makeup for my graduation speech and engagement proposal in front of cameras and 2000+ people. I felt beautiful for the biggest day of my life which helped me confidently deliver my speech and pull off the engagement proposal (he said yes!). She considered my outfit for each event, gave me a rundown in the mirror to see the most flattering event-appropriate hairstyles, and most importantly listened to and addressed my concerns. Text her any issues and she'll respond within seconds/minutes. Fast forward 4 weeks later, my groomzilla wanted to get married at SF city hall before I left for Navy bootcamp. Susie did an up-do and makeup for my wedding and showed me the best way to wear my veil and floral crown. My photographer documented the day from 7am-7pm and the makeup and hair stayed perfect for the 7 hours of photographs post-makeup session. She anticipated any possible hiccups and always gave me plenty of extra bobby pins for my thick hair and plenty of lipstick to touch up throughout the day. I honestly never felt so beautiful in my life and I am so glad I found Susie to help me look and feel great for all the big events in my life. I highly recommend Susie for all your big life events. And if you're on the fence like I was initially, definitely get your hair and makeup done professionally and a good photographer so that you have amazing photos to share and when you look back on your achievements! read more

Susie was excellent!! She accommodated us at the last minute after the bride's makeup trial didn't go well, and thank goodness she did! Not only is her work incredible (the bride looked STUNNING!), she was open to every one of the bride's concerns and needs. She addressed each point, gave her candid and honest feedback, and then reiterated each of the bride's points in an e-mail after the trial! It made the bride feel like she was being heard but was also getting honest professional opinions as well. On wedding day, everything went exceptionally smoothly and was like clockwork; we finished early and she was even able to fix the bride's mother's makeup!! Book Susie! read more

I couldn't have been more impressed with Susie's work and professionalism when I hired her to do my September wedding hair and makeup. When we scheduled the trial, she made sure to outline how to prepare before we met. During the trial she was able to create a very similar look to some of the examples I showed her. Each step of the way, she explained very thoroughly what she was doing and why, checking on comfort level along the way (a plus for me since I don't normally wear make-up, let alone fake lashes). When it came to the hair, Susie showed me a few different looks, again, explaining how each worked with the face. At one point she suggested we try a half up/half down hair style when I had an up-do in mind. I ended up liking her suggestion best and used that for the wedding. At the end of the trial session Susie instructed me to keep an eye on how well everything held up for the rest of the day. She requested I report back to her any changes so that she knew how to adjust the makeup application on the wedding day. On the morning of, Susie arrived at 5:30 am on the dot at my home in the Bay Area Peninsula to make sure that she finished her work by 7:00 am. While we had a good chat during the trial session, she worked quickly and quietly that morning so not to wake those who were still asleep. Susie is very confident of her work and she should be. Other than a powdering and lipstick touch up, everything held up for the entire day (my hair held up well into a second day too). I felt so very well taken care of being in such good hands. I would highly recommend Susie to family and friends for their big day! read more

Susie is an excellent hair and makeup artist! I highly recommend her. I felt comfortable with her and she was very professional. An update to my review, I had my wedding and Susie did an AMAZING job! She really listens to what you want and worked with me on keeping a natural look that was still bridal and looked like me! I LOVED it and everyone complimented me on my hair and make up. I barely had to touch up the make-up and the hair stayed all day and night (11+ hours). I highly recommend Susie. She did my bridesmaid's hair and makeup and they looked wonderful. Her assistant did my other bridesmaids and we had one minor hiccup where Susie stepped in and fixed my maid of honor's hair, but it all worked out. I can't recommend Susie enough! read more

Susie is excellent with makeup!! I haven't used her for hair, but I'm assuming she is fantastic based on other reviews. She is highly organized, her emails were very thorough, so everything was explained up front. She is very efficient, comes on time, or early, and does perfect makeup very quickly. I've had other makeup artists that show up with broken equipment and they are so slow, taking twice the time that Susie takes, they've even made me late for events. Not Susie! She made me look completely natural and beautiful. Any one who gets their makeup done by Susie will feel super lucky! read more

Susie did my make up for a morning photo shoot a couple of months ago. She was very pleasant, kind, and thoughtful. She did a wonderful job on my make up and was a real joy to be around. Susie is awesome! She did my best friend's wedding day makeup and hair. Susie made her look so amazing! I would defiantly book her again~

Susie C is da bomb!! She not only made me look gorgeous in my "Trash the Dress" shoot but also was kind enough to wait a whole extra hour until my husband could come pick me up at the studio. I mean, who would go out of their way on a Sunday afternoon? My pics turned out wonderfully and you couldn't even tell that I was mosquito bite ridden after our vacation camping in the woods. I can't wait to send out my Xmas cards now. :) Thanks a ton Susie!! read more

Susie did an amazing job for our wedding. She was professional, listened and understood exactly what we wanted. The results she achieved were amazing and her prices were very fair. She was so dedicated - being there before the ceremony, just before we walked out and afterwards to make sure we were touched up for pictures. She also did an amazing job on my hair and got exactly what I wanted done in a very short period of time. You cannot go wrong by hiring Susie for any event. read more
