I was staying at sun outdoor and I was looking for something healthy and I found this place nearby. It's a cozy place. When I walked to him, there's a machine where you can order yourself or there's also somebody who can take your order. I love how they have the sauces out for you to grab of your choice. I've never really had sauces but seeing them out made me try the tzatziki. I got the California wrap, but without the fries, it includes guac in it. I thought it was delicious and if I'm in the area again, I would come back. Too bad I didn't get a picture. I was just hungry lol

We ordered this to go and ate at home and it was exceptionally delicious! The steak was insanely tender and the pita...out of this world soft! My husband said the wrap was loaded with flavor and the garlic sauce was 10/10. Friendly staff, quick service and clean and bright ambiance.

perfectly seasoned chicken kabob , served over well-cooked rice with warm pita on the side.

Really enjoyed my visit to Kabob Shack - Broadway. The chicken kabob was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, served over fresh rice with warm pita. The Greek salad was crisp with generous feta and a great dressing. Good portions, fair prices, and quick, friendly service. Cozy Place , Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Slept on this spot... steak and tandoori so flavorful! All the sauces self serve & u don't gotta pay extra. Prefer this over kebab shop now. Hummus was delicious too! Cant wait to try the Shah burger, moussa's chicken and falafel.

I hadn't been inside this building since it was a Mexican Restaurant. I stopped in because I was wanting something near me . I checked the Yelp reviews and saw this . I tried the Value meal which comes with a gyro sandwich, fries and a drink I added a couple of roasted peppers and tomatoes which with Tax brought my total to just over 20 a Jackson, making it double what I'm comfortable paying for dinner . I enjoyed my delishous meal, but it looks like bidenomics will prevent me from coming here as often as I'd like. The employees were friendly. The dinning room was clean.

It's in a strip and there's a decent amount of parking, but there is limited seating inside! I ordered the chicken kabob plate and it had huge chunks of chicken that are well seasoned, without sauces, it's already delicious. I asked to replace the rice with salad and got a salad side, making it double salad. It also comes with four pieces of pita which I don't have pictured. It was very delicious and I do recommend the place! I'll be trying out their other items another time. The food came out very fast and when dining in they bring it to your table.

Ordered via UberEats. Pros: Flavorful and affordable. Cons: Serving of chicken was quite small, ratio was mostly rice.

Excellent place for that Gyro and Greek Salad fix. Very easy to get to. Staff is very informative and friendly. Limited seating.

Nothing better than finding a locally owned hole in the wall serving up super flavorful delicious Afghan cuisine. There are so few of them in the San Diego area! Business model is fast, casual in design which is kind of nice because it's shocking to be honest how much food you get for the price you pay. The decor is sparse, but the restaurant is incredibly clean. When the girl working the counter wasn't taking orders, she was sweeping and wiping down tables. My only gripe with the interior of the restaurant is that it was a chilly day and the door was propped wide open. I absolutely loved the famous chicken skewer plate. It was a nice touch to serve that amazing Saffron rice with a couple grilled vegetables. They also had a sauce bar with really tasty sauces for dipping. I went for hummus on the side of my plate and the hummus was satisfactory but nothing to rave about. My fiancé got the gyro plate and I didn't think he was that hungry when we got there, but he ate every single bite. This restaurant is a little out-of-the-way for me, but if I'm in the area, it's certainly a place I would return to.

    Chicken Curry rice plate

Me and my wife door dashed and as I was preparing the plate for her she realized that there was no chicken curry. It's very frustrating to say an order is complete through a third party system without double checking the order.

This was way more food than I expected when ordering but it is ALL delicious

I think I just found my favorite mediterranean food spot. It's so close to me and everything I ate was so bomb: Chicken, rice, salad, hummus, and the FRESH HOT pita bread. My only regret is not coming here sooner. I came in the last hour before closing and the staff were still super nice and answered all my questions as a first timer. I will definitely be back!

The food here is very expensive. It is not worth it. I ordered their Steak Kabob rice plate for $20. And I added a chicken skewer stick for $7. My son ordered a steak kabob rice plate with fries. The photos show very minimal serving. The rice was not even half way the height of the plate. The plate was small. Rip off place.

I don't know where to begin! I don't usually write many reviews, but this one stood out so much I couldn't help it! My wife & I were looking for some Mediterranean food in the area during our vacation road trip from Orange County and were pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor from this place in an unassuming strip mall area. I ordered the Moussa's Famous Chicken Kabob rice plate while my wife went w/the Gyro Pita which were both juicy, but what really hit a home run was the Chicken Korma (Curry)! That one reminded me of a better and more re-fined version of Yang's Braised Chicken Rice, full of deep, rich flavors -- works w/either rice or pita! We definitely hope they expand into Orange County, but even if they don't, if we ever go to San Diego again, this place will definitely be one of our regular spots to go to!

Since we were going to be in Hillcrest, we chose Khyber Pass - and wow, what an incredible decision. This was easily some of the best food I've had in a very long time. We started with the Bolani. Absolute perfection. It had a beautiful crunch, perfectly seasoned filling, and none of that sogginess I often run into with Bolani elsewhere. We could've ordered another plate and been thrilled. Next came the Aushak with ground beef: one of my all-time favorite Afghan dishes. Think of it like delicate leek-filled ravioli topped with savory meat and tangy yogurt. It hit all the right notes. We also shared the Kofta Kabob, served with grilled vegetables and fluffy basmati rice. The seasoning was spot on, and the meat was juicy and tender, similar to Persian koobideh, but truly memorable in its own way. Our server recommended the Afghan Yaghoot Chalao (Cherry Curry) with chicken. Yes, cherries! Sweet, sour, rich, bright. I had to resist the urge to literally lick my plate clean. And then: the Qabuli Palao with lamb. I do not like lamb. My friend loves it, so I agreed...and I'm so glad I did. I genuinely loved this dish. The saffron-coriander rice with carrots and raisins was aromatic and comforting, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. If you're hesitant about lamb, trust me, this dish might convert you. Portions were generous, we came hungry, and still left with leftovers. I also ordered the house-made Doogh, a mint yogurt drink. It's not for everyone, but it's pure comfort to me. We finished with hot tea infused with cardamom, black for me, green for my friend, and it was the perfect close to a perfect meal. I told our server that this food was even more delicious than what my mother makes. I'm Afghan born and raised in San Diego. That is not a compliment I give lightly. I believe the restaurant is under newer management since around 2020/2021. I last ate here in 2015, and even back when it was on Convoy in the late '90s, and this is the best it has ever been. I highly, highly recommend Khyber Pass to anyone: adventurous eaters, first-timers, comfort-food seekers, well everyone. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm saving room for dessert.

It felt very fancy and was one of the most exotic things I have eaten in a long time. We also got the dolmas (grapes leaves) and the Bolani (turnover stuffed with leek and potatoes) as an appetizer. The dolmas were ok, but the bolani was exceptional, like a leek and potato quesadilla but lighter. It was hard to put into words. Just order it and enjoy! Lastly, for drinks we got a Cherry Blossom Tea (Sheer Chai). Again, it tasted like nothing I have ever ordered before, which is hard to do because we are adventurous eaters. It tasted like cream straight from the cow mixed with a cherry blossom-y and strawberry-ish Chai flavor+ black tea flavor. One of the best drinks that I have experienced in 2025 by far.
