The circuit class had six stations so after every change, I forgot what the exercise was but she was there to quickly run through it with me. She was also very encouraging. At the end of the class she mentioned of a competition day that was open to everyone. The space has nothing but a water fountain, lockers, bathroom, sanitizer and cleaning wipes for the machine, no towels, shower or amenities. I enjoy Metcon (5min exercise - 1min rest) and the variety of it all. The class went quickly and id definitely do the class again. It was my first time working out in a while and i could keep up. Would give it 5 stars but lack of amenities is a big bummer.

The feeling of belonging, especially in NYC, when you see the same people in class, and the front desk staff and instructors know you by name, is invaluable. CrossFit Virtuosity is hands down the cleanest and most amenity-rich box I've ever experienced. As far as the workout, instructions were detailed and clear but not exhausting and redundant. The gym is also conveniently located adjacent to McCarren park, so we ran our two miles around the track, which was awesome. I enjoyed my experience so much that I may actually consider starting CrossFit again. Thanks again CrossFit Virtuosity for a wonderful Murph workout.

Stopped by to inquire about personal training only to stand around waiting to speak to someone…read more When I finally spoke to a staff member, I experienced ageism (he suggested that I work with trainer who works with older women) and was informed that he was too busy working with a client to provide further details (asked me to follow up with an email). This place is clearly not as inclusive as they purport to be. Got the message that they don't want my money and are not interested in working with anyone over 30, regardless of fitness level. They seem short staffed and not much interested in expanding their existing clientele. If you don't mind waiting and being judged without even discussing your actual fitness level, then check them out. Otherwise, caveat emptor/buyer beware.

Daniel is a great PT! After going through a handful of…read morepersonal trainers , I had pretty much sworn off PT life at Crunch Crown Heights. Back in July, while I was doing landmines with poor form. Daniel stepped in. He didn't sell me; he simply corrected me, encouraged me, and said, "try a free session with me' I did and I am thankful! Daniel is always on time and in great spirits. After years of waiting around for trainers who seemed allergic to punctuality, that alone earned him five stars in my book. Our sessions? I affectionately call them "complain or bust-my-butt" sessions. Daniel somehow manages to push me past my limits while letting me get a few good grumbles in. We get a lot done in a short time -- and now that I'm training with him three times a week, the results speak for themselves. I'm stronger, leaner, and fitter... and even other people have started noticing. If you want a trainer who's professional, efficient, and delivers results (without the sales pitch or the waiting game), Daniel's your guy. Just a warning -- he's an early bird, so set your alarm and get ready to work.

At the moment I am only doing 30 min sessions and although they are quick, they are fast-paced and effective (i.e. I now have a butt!) Like a few other commenters, I supplement my training with other activities like walking/running, etc. I could probably benefit from class pass or something else, but at the moment my schedule is only really suited for a twice a week thing. That being said, if you're like me and can only do this training as your means of working out, you WILL still see great improvements. I also do love the solo sessions verse being around other people who are watching you sweat and grunt in weird positions...unless you're into that.

I feel lucky to have found Greys Gym for a few reasons: 1) It's small and the one-on-one training…read moreis personable, effective and avoids the chaos of a big chain gym like Crunch. 2) As an over-50 guy, I need a training program that will challenge me, but not risk injury and the trainer I work with, Serge, is very sensitive to that. 3) It's in Clinton Hill, really close to my house in Fort Greene, and being able to walk down leafy residential streets a couple blocks to get to the gym and then stop in for a neighborhood coffee on the way home beats dealing with subways or traffic-clogged streets.

Dropped in during Bring a Friend week and unfortunately wouldn't return. The coach(Owner?) running…read morethe class gave off a really strange vibe from the beginning. He wasn't particularly friendly, came across as dismissive, and somehow managed to make normal conversation feel awkward. I couldn't tell if I was bothering him just by being there. The bigger disappointment was the atmosphere. One of the reasons I enjoy dropping into CrossFit gyms when I travel is usually the community aspect, but I never really felt welcomed here. People mostly kept to themselves and there wasn't much effort to introduce a new person or make me feel included. The workout itself was fine, but coaching and community are a huge part of why I choose to come and try it out, instead of just joining a regular gym. I left feeling like I had intruded on somebody else's workout rather than dropped into a community. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on my experience, I wouldn't come back.

And trust me, this phase of my life was not the "young, motivated, can't-wait-to-work-out" era. When I first walked into Len's studio, I was tired, unmotivated, and feeling a little too comfortable in my fluff. Somehow, he met me exactly where I was and still got results. Before we even talk training, let's talk about the studio. It is sleek, spotless, and beautifully equipped with everything you actually need. No chaos, no crowds, no side-eyes. Just a clean, private space that instantly puts you at ease. It smells amazing, it's immaculately maintained, and most importantly, it feels safe. Len is a true professional. No weird vibes, no pressure, no ego. Just focused, respectful, all-business energy that lets you relax and do the work. What started as "let me try this for a month or two" turned into consistent training twice a week for nearly nine months. That alone says everything. Len helped me rebuild strength, energy, and confidence without running me into the ground or forcing workouts I dreaded. My clothes fit better, my stamina is up, and I feel like myself again. I still have goals ahead, but thanks to Len, I'm back in the game and moving forward the right way. If you're looking for a trainer who prioritizes safety, delivers real results, and works out of a clean, private studio where you can truly focus on yourself, Len is it. Period.

I told and warned him I was in a very unwell physical condition and that's why I was seeking professional guidance, but he pushed me to the point where I was too fatigued to continue my workout and threw up. Still, I wanted to give it a shot because I was desperate to become healthier. But very shortly after I had to go to LA for work, and ended up staying here indefinitely. I am not sure when I will be coming back to New York. I asked Len if he would be willing to provide a refund given the circumstances, but he didn't even respond. I followed up asking for any response, even if it was going to be a no. I also called and emailed him, but he has completely ignored all my attempts to contact him. By the way, he never said that refunds are not allowed and that private training lessons expire after X months. I also never signed anything. I simply sent him money through Venmo because I trusted him and assumed business would be conducted in good faith. Even in the texts he agreed to a pause. You can call me naive or whatever, but I've never had issues with verbal agreements (which are legally binding) with past trainers. Lesson learned. I am posting this so no one else has to go through this and lose well over a thousand dollars. There is another review like this. After seeing this type of behavior from a business, I wouldn't even want to engage anymore. Screenshots posted for transparency.

Scam alert! I wish I…read moreread these reviews prior to signing up for the 6 week challenge. I was motivated and hopeful, especially due to prior positive crossfit experiences at other gyms and learned a big lesson about reading reviews first. To be clear: The 6 week challenge which is falsely advertised as free costs $632. If you lose 25 pounds they say you get your money back. Doing the math, this type of program endorses disordered exercise and eating. It's not healthy to lose that amount of weight in 6 weeks They exploit those that have unrealistic goals, financially. Personally, I am writing because I was supposed to start the 6 week challenge right before COVID and they continued to bill be throughout the gym closures. I explained that I would be willing to transfer the money I already paid into a regular membership following COVID and they refused. I called my credit card company since it is illegal to charge for a gym that is closed due to COVID. The credit card company advised to file a claim. They responded by calling collections. I am confident that the credit card company will handle this for me, but am sickened by these practices overall. Mostly, I am genuinely worried about the mental health of potential consumers in the future. The actual classes are extremely variable since the staff are not well trained. The staff themselves told me that they are not treated properly and that there are is little, inconsistent communication with management. It shows in the classes, and the workouts are not as effective as other crossfit programs I have done as a result.
