Really enjoyed my time at S&S Grill. My family went for lunch. We were seated immediately and parking was easy. The waitress was quite friendly. I ordered the small shrimp plate with mashed potatoes and cantaloupe. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese. My shrimp was delicious and well made. My wife enjoyed her sandwich as well. The restaurant was clean and uniquely decorated.

Cheeseburger Lettuce Tomato and mayo. Nice Hotdog with mustard chili and onions. Not a bad chili. Red Winnie.

For up teen years I have driven by S&S Grill. Just so it happen I was in the area about 11:30 and they didn't seem to be swamped. Everyone sits at the counter. The waitress was busy taking a group of guys that came in before I did. Another lady came from in the kitchen area and got my drink. She took my order before heading back in the kitchen. I ordered a Cheeseburger with Lettuce tomato and mayo. Along with a hotdog all the way. Service is quick. I noticed that numerous folks came in and most seemed to be on a first name basis. Their Cheeseburger was not slacking on the lettuce tomato. Sorta reminds you of a burger you'd make at home. Burger had a good taste. Kinda what you would expect from a mom and pop type place. Hotdog was nice. No scrimping on the ingredients at all. Some how the waitress convinced me to try their freshly made Persimmon pudding. ( doesn't take much). She laughed when I told her my wife and I just mashed out enough persimmons to make 6 Persimmon pudding the day before. Theirs was bad. She did tell me it was still warm from coming out of the oven. Service was great, food great. My bill including the pudding was $19.00. So it wasn't a cheap lunch. But I would definitely try them again. I would like to sample breakfast. Take CASH. I saw 3 different people walk next door and get cash from an ATM.

A mom & pop grill in the strictest sense of the words - serves breakfast, lunch sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and very little else - no dinner hours. This is a tiny, well used place with all seating at the elongated counter inside, and a couple of small iron tables outside. There is a rambling gravel parking area that runs along both sides and the back of the restaurant. We ordered a Cheeseburger ($3.60), a couple of Hot Dogs ($1.99 each), and an order of FFs ($1.85). The Cheesburger was very nice, tasty and had good size to it. The Hot Dogs were also good, actually very good. The wiener was decent, the bun nicely toasted, and the chili just missed being great - a touch too much tomato, and not enough zip - a little Texas Pete & a dash of salt moved it up several notches. The FFs were surprisingly good. They are the rectangular, ridged ones, but these were fried very well so that there was a nice crispness to the outside, but soft and tasty inside - few places serve this type of FF this well. The folks here are friendly, laid back but efficient. While I wouldn't label this a destination spot for burgers or dogs, I certainly would not hesitate to stop in, if in the area.
