I like that they are open on Sundays until 3 which really worked out and they are super affordable on their batteries. We called they got us in and out super quick and charged $60. Battery problems on a Saturday, ugh!…read more A1 battery on Union was AWESOME! I called them 5 minutes before they opened and talked to J.R. He assured me he had a battery that would fit my car and could change out the corroded cable. I pulled up, and a technician named Eedwin walked out and greeted me with a smile, and started diagnosing the issue right away. J.R. and Eedwin went straight to work, pulling out the old battery and replacing it with the new. The AAA representative had mentioned that I needed a specific type of battery, which was only available at the dealership, but J.R. (and later my mechanic) assured me that wasn't the case. J.R. made sure I had the correct battery for my car and even cleaned the battery housing as well. I was there for less than 10 minutes, and everything was under $200, when AutoZone was going to charge me $250 just for the battery! (no install). Time will tell how well the battery does (they gave me a 5-year warranty - 1 year full replacement, the remainder is prorated price for a new battery) but so far, I'm happy with my service. I'd recommend this place to my people.

I hadn't driven my 3 year old GMC pickup for 4 days, and when I went out to hook up the horse…read moretrailer the battery was dead. I called Motor City Service department and twice no one picked up the phone. I jumped the truck and drove over only to be told they could not install a battery on Saturday. I'd love to tell you how bad their service department is, but this is a review for A-1. I drove over to the S. Union location (there are 3 A-1 locations). They checked the alternator, then the battery. He said the battery was registering good on his meter. But, because we haul horses, I didn't want to take a chance. While Sean and I took care of the paperwork, the other tech (damn, I am blanking on his name) installed the new battery. In 15 minutes I was on my way. I've been buying batteries at A-1for 50 years and this is the service I ALWAYS get. There's no other place you need to consider. Thanks A-1!

I had a frustrating experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts…read more I came in for a simple purchase, a car fuse, and found myself about 15 people deep in line. Several customers ahead were engaged in longer part consultations at the counter, which slowed everything down. I asked a team member if there was a separate line for quick, over the counter purchases. I was directed to the same line, with no alternative option. Key issues: No separation between quick purchases and detailed consultations Long wait times for simple transactions Inefficient use of staff during peak demand There were at least 4 to 5 customers ahead of me making quick purchases, yet all were stuck waiting behind lengthy consultations. This created unnecessary delays. If the goal is to improve in store sales and customer experience, consider: Assigning one staff member to handle quick purchases Creating a separate line for simple transactions Managing consultation flow more efficiently This process needs improvement. Walked out and left the fuse behind. I made my purchase on Amazon for a lot less with overnight delivery.
