I spoke to was very nice younger Mexican, the older white guy which I'm assuming is the owner because he said he was doing this for 40 years was very rude and did not want to help with the situation at all when I asked them to put the motor back together cause he said no matter what he wasn't gonna warranty it, he refuse until I made him do it wouldn't recommend plenty of other places in Bakersfield to go off and have your stuff repaired or buying a new motor

Do not go here! I went here to have my remote starter installed on my car, and they totally messed…read moreit up. Not only can I not use my remote starter to start my car because the horn honks and cuts the engine off every time, but I discovered that when I hit the lock button on the remote, it doesn't lock my doors or even arm the alarm! And when I do hit the pointless lock button, it makes my horn honk and the guy was very rude in telling me that there was no way to make it a sound like other cars (which is bull). The only way to lock my doors and arm it is to use the automatic lock button inside my car, and if I do that, the alarm goes off no matter what when I get in. I will not even go back to have him fix it because I'm terrified he will completely ruin my brand new car. Trust me when I say that this is the worst place to EVER take your car.

They offered me one for $150 with a 5 year warranty. I couldn't beat it!! They were wonderful, courteous & kind. I will definitely be retuning here & referring everyone I know.

The guy in the office was very helpful and knowledgeable, they pay $3 each battery to recycle but hey I didn't need the money just didn't want to toss them in the garbage. He sent out a guy to grab the batteries from my car. The guy was also very nice and helpful. I didn't really have to do much they handled everything. Good thing because those batteries are very heavy. Overall great experience.

Battery problems on a Saturday, ugh!…read more A1 battery on Union was AWESOME! I called them 5 minutes before they opened and talked to J.R. He assured me he had a battery that would fit my car and could change out the corroded cable. I pulled up, and a technician named Eedwin walked out and greeted me with a smile, and started diagnosing the issue right away. J.R. and Eedwin went straight to work, pulling out the old battery and replacing it with the new. The AAA representative had mentioned that I needed a specific type of battery, which was only available at the dealership, but J.R. (and later my mechanic) assured me that wasn't the case. J.R. made sure I had the correct battery for my car and even cleaned the battery housing as well. I was there for less than 10 minutes, and everything was under $200, when AutoZone was going to charge me $250 just for the battery! (no install). Time will tell how well the battery does (they gave me a 5-year warranty - 1 year full replacement, the remainder is prorated price for a new battery) but so far, I'm happy with my service. I'd recommend this place to my people.

They checked the alternator, then the battery. He said the battery was registering good on his meter. But, because we haul horses, I didn't want to take a chance. While Sean and I took care of the paperwork, the other tech (damn, I am blanking on his name) installed the new battery. In 15 minutes I was on my way. I've been buying batteries at A-1for 50 years and this is the service I ALWAYS get. There's no other place you need to consider. Thanks A-1!
