All homes are no more than a blank canvas, and how we made that happen is possibly the greatest joy our family has known. Frankly, this knowledge didn't exist in our minds, not in the beginning, and certainly not in the early years. We spent a lot of time and money working on "smaller" projects that transformed our home, but in "small" ways; not always to our own liking. The result was "well", maybe we can try again next year. We are not a try "next year" kind of people, so we set out on a mission to find a "big" solution that would give us what we had always wanted and "make it happen". The first step was to seek a professional company with experience and expertise that we could never have dreamed of. We are proud to share with you, Coast Design and Build - MILA Showroom, which brought life into our home and hearts. Coast Design and Build - MILA Showroom is a large company that provides serious services, capable of transforming your home into your dreams. We experienced the process and enjoyed every twist and turn as they created a living dream. Expertise in both management and construction, the store will provide more than enough in the showroom to allow you to choose how your home will be transformed. I live in a very nice area of Bakersfield, and I would never ever ever use or recommend DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen. I reached out to them a while ago for a bid and explained how I wanted to remodel my kitchen. They do a "free" estimate and then on the spot have you sign a contract then pay a percentage of your project. At that estimate, I explained to them that I had a certain monetary figure in mind and did not want to go over that figure. I also explained my desires for my kitchen and was reassured that they would be able to keep it within that monetary figure. I should have backed out when estimator verbalized that he was a "little nervous" about staying within that number but went ahead and took my check. Then ... I was quoted 80,000 dollars for cabinets! Yes. You can LOL at that. In their defense, I think the prices actually shocked them as well. I don't even think that price included installation. That figure was already over the budget I had in mind for their work in my kitchen. I was clearly SHOCKED, and when I stated, "but you knew that I had a certain figure in mind when we started this project," the lady that I was speaking to began to get upset and defensive. Everything became MY fault. After that, I immediately stopped contacting them because I realized that they were going to charge an exorbitant amount on my kitchen, and it was just not worth any more of my time. Additionally, my husband asked if they were going to provide us an itemized list so that we could analyze the cost and they stated, "Oh, we don't do that sir." Just as an FYI, you won't be fully aware of where your dollars are really going. I pulled up the original bid and noticed that I had signed a document that did not match the conversation that I had with the estimator. Basically, the document stated that they would be doing half of my kitchen (not including appliances). We had brought up that as a possibility, but I had not confirmed that is what I wanted. I clearly should have read every line because that one slipped past me in my unsuspecting excitement that day. Another criticism that I have is that I showed the main lady who was helping me pictures of the wood and the style of kitchen I desired and she just did NOT get what I wanted at all. I did not have that issue other places. I ended up with a BEAUTIFUL kitchen NOT from DreamMaker Kitchen and Bath within a fair price range with custom quarter sawn oak cabinets, beautiful granite with chiseled edges, travertine flooring, and top of the line KitchenAid appliances. I speak to everyone who is remodeling or hoping to remodel about my experience there, and many seemed to be well aware of DreamMaker Kitchen and Bath prices. Most memorable, my granite person stated, "I used to do work for them, but they would increase my bid every time so I stopped because it felt really wrong." Anyway, the company is still open so they must have satisfied customers somewhere in Bakersfield just not here.

It just opened, and the grand opening was this weekend, but I stopped by the Best Buy it is located in for something else earlier this week and wandered through. The sales staff was so nice to me and took extra time to see if there was anything I needed without making me feel like I was hovered over, it was really conversational and nice. If I were in the market for a new kitchen I would definitley stop here, it makes the other appliance places look unorganized and like they dabble in appliances. This place looks so professional I just want to transport one of the whole kitchens to my house! (The green countertop one!)

This was our second time in so we knew where to go and what we had been looking at. We were helped almost right away and the adviser never left us until the deals were made! We purchased a washer, dryer and a fridge. The items are priced so you can see what the deals are and how much percentage can be taken off. (10% in most cases) We got 15% off based on buying 3 high end items. The workers are not on commission, they must produce and share bonuses. The prices are not bargain basement but very competitive to other appliance stores and we did have great, patient, friendly service. Our guy was very knowledgeable with 35 years experience so it made our trip in all that much better. We have confidence in what we bought. If you want to settle for a floor model, (scratch and dent), there is a lot of choice at this store. Look for the yellow tags. The appliances range from lower end to high end but no junk. Something for everyone with all budgetary needs. Free delivery in town. Free connections with free standing appliances. (NOT dishwashers, built in ovens, microwaves) A bit of a bummer there. It is about $100 for hook ups where they hire someone and send them out (sub contracted workers) Collect Buy Buy reward points. Also, apparently come on Black Friday for the BEST deals. Keep an eye out for rebates, certain appliances will give you money off your utility bill. (mail in with PG&E) Also, if the item goes on sale within 15 days, you can get a refund back to your credit card. YOU have to keep an eye on this though. Visit the store after your purchases, it could be worth the drive. All in all, a good experience and we will return for the other 4 items we need. Would recommend to all to go in and have a look. Not everything is stainless steel, you can get white, black, red. I love the mock kitchens to give you an idea of how things would look. They did a great job setting this up!
