The interior and overall atmosphere are really well done and there's a lot to look at. I came in to pick up a handgun, and the process was pretty thorough. You can set up an appointment online or use the kiosk when you get there. If you're picking up or purchasing a firearm, I'd definitely set aside about an hour to an hour and a half because it can take some time. The gun counter line closes at 8 PM on weekdays, so keep that in mind. The employees I dealt with were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the process. Overall, a really good experience.

With rows and rows of tackle, I am able to find most lake specific lures, weights, bait, hooks, etc. Sometimes I have to go to the store at the lake itself and get even more specific items, but BPS usually has what I need. Whenever I enter the store, the personnel always ask if I need help or direct me to the area where more specific help can be found. Moreover, the store is dog friendly and has dog treats at the ready. Occasionally, BPS will host a Monday club night whereby if you are a BPS club member, you can stand in line to get a light meal and enter a raffle to win items, but I recommend you go early and stand in line or else there will be no more food left.

The Gun Exchange is staffed by people who know what they are doing and are willing to share their depth of experience to those who want to build a relationship......just like anywhere else. I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised that people in the Bay Area might not know the difference between someone going out and shooting and those who join the community of hunters and shooters.
