I was very excited because it's been a struggle to find the exact item but I was willing to go with a near substitute. Well, I get there and he's not nearly as certain that what he has will work... Me, neither. I got it, went home, then got on the phone with several other suppliers, one (Gen-Tile) that was REALLY sure he had what I needed. At least Westchester Masonry Depot didn't give me a hard time when I returned their product. There is a ton of masonry and pond-building supplies here and it looks really cool, but my visit was ultimately a waste of time...

Foley's had BETTER PRICE than the Supermarket!…read more I decided to buy a Fix-A-Flat tire repair product for my son (who had a flat the week before) I went to my local supermarket, found Fix-A-Flat priced at $14, but figured Foley's might have it...and I like to patronize local businesses when possible. Turned out it was $12, two dollars cheaper, at Foley's, but I realized something else: Auto care, tools, and garden supplies are bread-and-butter to a hardware store, while they're just convenience items for a supermarket: stores like Foley's have to be well-stocked, and have knowledgeable staff who can answer questions. So now I will make Foley's my first choice for tools, because they know them best. But don't worry, supermarkets in Larchmont and Mamaroneck: If Foley's starts selling carrots and cauliflowers, I'll still buy them from you.

When the color we originally selected was not available they tried to locate it among different warehouses and provided quotes for several similar colors. Terrible work, no interest in customer satisfaction. I'm just noticing that recent reviews are all…read moreterrible - I wish I had looked sooner. Also - there is very little transparency in the organization. One phone number, have never been able to speak to a supervisor, etc. I had a reclaimed and sentimental piece of marble that was local to the business and I paid top dollar for Marbleworks to pick it up and cut it into two pieces, finish the surfaces and edges and deliver the pieces to me in NYC. They warned me that there were oil stains and I understood. The price included "installation" and mine weren't being installed, but when I questioned it (neither was a countertop) they said that delivery counted as "installation" ... I agreed to the price. BUT they delivered the pieces rubbing up against each other with nothing in between the raw pieces and the largest piece was delivered with a huge -- though not super deep -- scratch -- and the smaller piece was significantly less "shiny" than the larger and with smaller scratched and like it hadn't been cleaned or as polished as the larger. I withheld the balance (about 39% of the total) until the scratches were removed -- it seemed if they WERE installing a countertop they would've done a better job of leaving me with better surfaces. They insisted on a certified check for the balance. I spend $$$ on cancelling a check, getting the certified check and to buy tarps since they'd now be doing the work in my apartment. The first appointment they gave me to fix the scratch they called the day before to reschedule. Okay. The second appointment I waited all day for them to come and at the end of the day they told me they got held up and could not come. I was upset and I told them I needed a first appointment and waited weeks until that appointment could happen. Unfortunately, when they showed up the workmen were told by my building that I needed a COI - Marbleworks did not inform me of this possibility (it seems they should if they know their business) and I was unaware myself. I sent them the sample COI within minutes but was told it would take time for the COI (which, if they had a relationship with their insurance company, should be fast, no?) that the workmen wouldn't wait AND that if I wanted them to come back I would have to pay them an additional $750 on top of what I owe them. I was sorry about the COI issue an will own my ignorance BUT it seemed to me we were even, since I was stood up once and accommodated weeks of rescheduling, and delays - not to mention bad work in the first place. I told them I'd be willing to wait until it was convenient for Marbleworks to get back to the city (vs. insisting on first appointment, etc.) but they said they have no plans to deliver back into the city unless I pay them $750. So they will not accommodate me in any way to fix their shoddy work no matter what my concessions are - without charging me more $$$. They have no interest whatsoever in making this very polite, very patient customer happy - by fixing their shoddy work to begin with. Since I have had no customer satisfaction, I am not going to pay the balance but am instead looking into local marble repair companies. While my sales contact was unfailingly polite, he is so great at stonewalling that I'm guessing he is being incentivized on making me go away and/or pay more $$$ than actually creating a happy customer. I'm looking at beginning a renovation in the next year and I would not deal with them again.

We're pretty picky about interior design, and the entire team was super patient with us throughout the entire process and very helpful. The owner himself came to our house multiple times (initial measurements, double checking, partial installation, complete installation, follow-up, etc.) to make sure everything was going well. One time, when a third-party cabinet supplier forgot to include a side panel in the initial shipment, the owner handpicked a virtually perfect match from some unrelated stock and just gifted it to us so that we could cut it and apply it to our island in time for a huge party we were having at our house that weekend, and we got the actual panel shortly after that. They've got a great selection of cabinetry, hardware, and countertop material, in addition to some other stuff. It's been 13 months now since installation was complete, and we're still in a state of shock about how beautiful the whole thing is every time we walk into the kitchen. Based on my recent personal experience, I unfortunately have to agree with all the negative…read morereviews. 1. Pressure to put down a deposit -- do NOT do it unless your design is final. They will push you hard to pay a deposit to "lock in" a price. In reality, any change to your initial design--no matter how small--results in a higher quote, and they will not provide any breakdown to justify the increases. You're left with two choices: accept the added cost on faith, or walk away and lose your deposit. There is no actual price lock. 2. Promises that aren't reflected in writing. The owner, Fatih, may verbally assure you that you can recover half of your deposit if you decide not to move forward during the design phase. Insist on getting everything in writing before paying anything. Once you receive the written terms (which only show up after you've sent the deposit if you let them rush you), you'll find that you are not entitled to any refund if you ever request your design--whether for review, record-keeping, or any legitimate purpose. Unsurprisingly, none of this is mentioned before they take your money. 3. Poor communication once they have your deposit. After paying, be prepared to chase them. I repeatedly had to send multiple emails and make follow-up calls just to receive a one-line response. And after these delays, they will inform you that your "locked-in" price is about to expire unless you finalize your order within a couple of days--again with no refund of your deposit if you don't. 4. Vague and non-specific documentation. The price they claim you've "locked in" only applies to an undefined "as-per-design" reference--without details. If you don't have a copy of the design, I'm not sure how you could ever prove what you supposedly locked in. They avoid putting anything concrete in writing, making it nearly impossible to hold them accountable. That alone should be a major red flag. I made the mistake of trusting this business based on a recommendation from someone I know. I hope that sharing my experience helps others avoid the same situation.
