Earl Grey Matcha Duo (~$9)
Aya E.

Ordered: Lavender Matcha Duo (~$9): lavender syrup, uji matcha, uji matcha cream, milk Aya's take: It didn't take long for me to come back to Rok Matcha. They're still doing an amazing job controlling the lines without compromising the quality of their drinks. I got the Lavender Matcha Duo this time and it was just as good. Rich, creamy, and this time with a perfectly balanced floral element from the lavender. The uji matcha cream is insane and still one of the best I've tried. I think I would tone down the sweetness slightly (if this is an option) to 50-75% but otherwise, truly no complaints. Highly recommend!

Black sesame and double matcha

These are some of the best cafe drinks I think I've ever had! We got the double matcha and black sesame coffee, and the flavors of both were so delicious. The matcha was the perfect matcha flavor without being too grassy or bitter or too sweet. It was also just the right texture! I also LOVED the black sesame coffee, which was creamy and full of black sesame and espresso flavor. If I lived near here I'd be here like every day. They have cute seating inside too, but not too much of it.

I was very excited to try this highly review matcha spot that was only located in LA prior. Luckily, Rok has graced NYC with its presence. I stopped by & got to try their matcha duo drink. I was advised to try the foam first. The matcha foam was super rich & delicious to taste. I think most matcha fans would approve of this drink because the matcha is high quality, it's rich & sweet enough to appease most people. However, the only reason I would rate it a 4/5 is the fact that the cup is small & a good portion of the cup is filled with cubed ice. It's also rounds out to about $7-8 per cup. I was a tad disappointed that my drink finished so fast. You can literally finish this drink in 10 min if you don't take your time. There's honestly not too much liquid content inside leaving you wanting more...

I came here the other day (on a weekday afternoon) as I happened to be in the area, and there was a short line, so I figured I would take advantage of that. The drink menu is quite extensive with both duo drinks (cream tops) and more traditional matcha and coffee drinks. I got the earl gray matcha and it was absolutely delicious with the matcha flavor coming through. The service was excellent and friendly, but I'm docking a star because the space itself is pretty small with only a handful of tables. I could see this place getting beyond crowded which would make me claustrophobic if I was sitting at one of the tables with someone hovering over me. I would definitely come back to try more of their matcha drinks though.

I had the LA one with no adjustments and thought it was way too sweet. I got 0 sugar this time. prob just the latte was no sugar but cream top & blueberry puree had sugar. And it was a lot more enjoyable this time, but the bar was in the grounds from previous experience. However, after 10 sips I still think it's way too sweet, even if I treat it like a dessert and not a drink. Also I felt like something is missing and I think it's that it's too watery for my preference. The staffs were really sweet, so that's a plus! I don't see myself returning but I do think the variety and flavors they have are cool!

Rōk was a solid matcha stop with one caveat. Setting: Casual and cozy, but no AC indoors and very limited seating. Service: The line took about 20 mins on a Friday afternoon and the wait for the drink was roughly 15, but the service was kind! Drinks: The matcha itself was perfect, but all three of us found the fruit bottoms to be way too syrupy and sweet. We tried the mango, strawberry, and blueberry matcha duos ($8.50 ea + tax/tip), and I'd definitely prefer a regular matcha next time.

This place gets a hard pass from me. $10+ for a small cup filled more than halfway with gigantic ice cubes is absolutely ridiculous. I counted ~10 sips so doing the math, that comes out to ~$1 per sip. You decide if that's worth it or not. Taste wise, I found it way too sweet. Don't think there's an option to customize sweetness level either. I felt so gypped I literally waited for the ice cubes to melt so I can get an extra sip or two and finish off every last drop of matcha in the cup. Service was ok. The space is nicely decorated but very stuffy. Won't be back!

It was a half an hour wait, but it was worth it. The coconut matcha really hit the spot I love their matcha foam would come back!

Matcha latte is smooth, somewhat sweet but not overly or off putting at all. Good strong flavor and color. I will definitely come back. The staff was nice but it was definitely very busy. There is some seating but it's not a lot so I wouldn't bank on sitting inside for a while. Will definitely like to go back to try other matcha drinks as they have so many options to choose! Personally loved the signature duo

Blueberry Matcha and Cafe Duo

New matcha spot that serves both matcha and coffee. There was luckily no line right at opening but I'm sure that will change in the near future. Staff were sweet and drinks came out quick. Since drinks were on the sweeter side, I'd recommend them more as dessert drinks than every day drinks. Blueberry Matcha came with lots of fresh blueberries and the matcha was thick and velvety. The Cafe Duo was strongish and sweet and also on the thicker side. True to New York, tables were limited. Some outdoor tables would benefit given the amount of traffic that will come.

Highly recommend, so many flavors to choose from and their matcha is pretty top notch!!

LA's famous matcha came to nyc! it's definitely one of the best matchas in the states, and I say this partly because I came at 9pm and there was no line at all... I've seen the lines in the daytime and would not recommend! anyway, the matcha cream is heavenly! we got the lavender matcha and the lavender kind of masked the matcha, so I'd love to come back to try a plain matcha

We only wanted coffee & tea yet after reading about their cookies, we bought 2! First, my English Breakfast tea was outstanding. The brand, serendipiTea. So good I didn't need to add sugar. They gave me the option of adding maple syrup. I added some Oat milk, it was delicious. Then after my 5th sip of tea I had the most delicious peanut butter gluten free cookie. So good! My hubby loved his coffee and chocolate chip cookies, he was speechless. Love this place.

The space is cozy with some seating, and apparently they have award-winning cookies... which I unfortunately cannot personally confirm because I had already eaten enough breakfast to feed a small village. I stuck with a vanilla latte. The coffee was good, the service was nice, and the space was welcoming. But the CHANDeliers?! Absolutely gorgeous and definitely one of the first things I noticed. I'd love to come back when I'm actually hungry enough to investigate these allegedly award-winning cookies because clearly I have unfinished business here. Cute spot, good coffee, gorgeous chandeliers--and apparently cookies that have trophies. I need answers.
