Not at all what I asked for. Also they charged me extra (without asking or calling me) for conditioner (which I didn't ask for) and trimmers because the tech"needed them to get around his legs". Never coming back here again. Common courtesy is calling an owner to let them know you are going to use a new product and be charged extra for it. I didn't ask for it now want it but I had no choice.

This store seems to employ the worst of the worst - especially Jerry, the "Aquatic Manager". My…read morehusband and I asked about a specific fish that was silver, in a tank full of orange fish, who looked like he was being bullied -- and asked to buy him -- and Jerry said, "he did not acclimate" and pulled the living, swimming fish out of the water with his hand, squished him, and put him in a black disposal bag, all while I kept saying "Please do not kill that fish, I want to buy him. What are you doing?!" He kept the fish alive and gasping for air in his hand for at least a minute or so before squishing and disposing of him while I begged him to please sell us the fish so we could give him a fighting chance at life and said "we have a tank at home and everything, PLEASE" and when he killed the fish in front of me and I started to cry, as I am sensitive, I threw down at least $60 worth of things I was buying for our cat and walked out. It was *sadistic* -- he knew we wanted the fish and he seemed to enjoy killing the fish in front of me. After we left the store, my husband went back in, looking for a manager who was not present. Someone at the register said "Oh, man, that's the first complaint we got about him this month, but he was being nice to the kids over there." (Is that a good thing? That's for you to decide, since he seems to take joy in killing living animals -- and yes, even small fish are living animals) in front of people begging him not to). Further, my husband was told there have been many complaints about Jerry, but "that is just how he is and you have to deal with it." The thing is, no, we don't. The store lost a large sale when I walked out and bought the same items at a different store that was *not* PetCo -- but furthermore, Jerry is not an annoying family member at Thanksgiving who I have to deal with -- he is an employee at a store that I, and my husband, can choose to not return to -- as well as any friends of ours who I told the story to, who were horrified by what happened, as everyone knows I love all animals and I treat our fish as well as I treat our cat, as well as I treat birds I say hello to when I am walking somewhere. It seems like Jerry, the employees, and the management, are all problems, but hey, "just deal" with watching someone suffocate, squish, and dispose of a fish you asked to purchase and tell me that is not somehow sadistic and wrong? I will never return to this store, and I will tell anyone I know to go anywhere else.

She gave us a ton of information, told us where she would be the next day with phone number of the other store so we could reach out to her with any additional questions. She actually just texted me with pictures of the parents of the goldendoodle we purchased (it's after 7pm). I did call the store one day when Allison was out and Pete answered the phone, he wanted to know how the dog was doing, said he has been with the store for decades and if we need anything to just call him. GREAT STAFF. We were talking to some breeders directly and the communication was horrible. Gary has some great employees. Even the woman who bathed and did our dog's claws after purchase clearly LOVED dogs. Very positive store experience. The Neutral: My dog, as others have mentioned was timid and easily startled when first home, but I think that's normal. He's only 10 weeks old, arrived from Missouri only a week before. That's a lot of changes for a little guy. So we have been making sure to keep the house a little quieter and trying to not make noise when he is eating. Basically like the instructions from Gary (Owner) say, no playing or excitement for 3 days. It's day 3 now and the dog (Reilly) is really much more active, running around the house, eating better, and seems to be adapting well to us and the house. The unexpected: Day 3, the little guy seems to have developed a cough. Could be from the stress of the move, he didn't seem to have this when we brought him home. I spoke to Allison about this and was told we would be reimbursed if we were unable to get back up to CT to see their Vet. (We are an hour away). Update: He seems a little better today, he has his check-in/check-up anyway so we just moved up the date at the vet to make sure he's on the right track. I am sure he will be fine. The less positive: When we originally called on the phone, we were told one general price from the Owner for the dogs were were interested in. At checkout the dog price increased more than 50%. We were able to negotiate, but we felt it could have been handled better. The only reason we feel we didn't overpay is because the service and aftercare have been wonderful. And when you get a 10-11 week old baby, believe me you will have questions. This is my third dog, but I quickly realized pups this young are infants, more vulnerable, do more dumb things, eating well and not getting sick is really important.

My 8 year old loves cats but we simply cannot have one because I am allergic. I took her to read and play with kittens, and we went into a room with 4 caged cats that were "not allowed to come out" and 1 kitten that was 10 weeks and hid for most of the 30 minute session. The woman who took us on the "tour" of the facility and oversaw our visit was extremely bossy and asked for my donation to the center the second we walked in the door. Very disappointing.

I am a lifetime pet owner who has been devastated because I had to put my 16 year old cancerous cat to sleep last month. Myself, my husband and kids (now adults) have enjoyed, loved, and adored our pets. We usually have more cats and one dog, but last year adopted another doggie. My family misses the cat to dog ratio we've had for years, so I went to their site and was excited about loving another cat even with my heavy grief for my cat, Miss Wolly, who died last month. Imagine my disappointment when they sent me an email recently saying my application was REJECTED! Considering all the pets that need rescuing, this is just wrong and a travesty. Thumbs down to this judgmental ridiculous "rescue org!" Shame.
