The Great: The Norwalk store is super clean. The staff are very accommodating and kind and very knowledgeable. We worked mostly with Allison. She gave us a ton of information, told us where she would be the next day with phone number of the other store so we could reach out to her with any additional questions. She actually just texted me with pictures of the parents of the goldendoodle we purchased (it's after 7pm). I did call the store one day when Allison was out and Pete answered the phone, he wanted to know how the dog was doing, said he has been with the store for decades and if we need anything to just call him. GREAT STAFF. We were talking to some breeders directly and the communication was horrible. Gary has some great employees. Even the woman who bathed and did our dog's claws after purchase clearly LOVED dogs. Very positive store experience. The Neutral: My dog, as others have mentioned was timid and easily startled when first home, but I think that's normal. He's only 10 weeks old, arrived from Missouri only a week before. That's a lot of changes for a little guy. So we have been making sure to keep the house a little quieter and trying to not make noise when he is eating. Basically like the instructions from Gary (Owner) say, no playing or excitement for 3 days. It's day 3 now and the dog (Reilly) is really much more active, running around the house, eating better, and seems to be adapting well to us and the house. The unexpected: Day 3, the little guy seems to have developed a cough. Could be from the stress of the move, he didn't seem to have this when we brought him home. I spoke to Allison about this and was told we would be reimbursed if we were unable to get back up to CT to see their Vet. (We are an hour away). Update: He seems a little better today, he has his check-in/check-up anyway so we just moved up the date at the vet to make sure he's on the right track. I am sure he will be fine. The less positive: When we originally called on the phone, we were told one general price from the Owner for the dogs were were interested in. At checkout the dog price increased more than 50%. We were able to negotiate, but we felt it could have been handled better. The only reason we feel we didn't overpay is because the service and aftercare have been wonderful. And when you get a 10-11 week old baby, believe me you will have questions. This is my third dog, but I quickly realized pups this young are infants, more vulnerable, do more dumb things, eating well and not getting sick is really important. read more

I want to start off by saying the man in the front was amazing and so helpful. Me and my sister went in hoping to purchase a dog. we kindly asked to spend some time with one of the puppies we were interested in. we were taken to a little room with hard wood floors and no toys. everything was going good until i'm assuming the bald owner. Came over and gave us a nasty look. we then walked out to go look at other puppies and he started off by saying "the other employee did you a favor for even letting you see the dog", and told us if we were not buying to not waste time they were not to play with and he wouldn't want us contaminating the dogs bc we were from the "street." after that it was such a awkward and uncomfortable situation. Not to add the dogs looked extremely poorly maintained with matting and barely even had blankets in their small cages. if things went different we were seriously going to buy from them but after that interaction we had no interest in supporting their busines. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN'S HEARTS BROKEN!!!. We visited this store yesterday, found a dog that we all liked. Today we visited their NY store to see what else was out there. Ended up spending quite a bit of time talking with the owner who seemed very nice. We eventually decided we would go back to the Norwalk Store and get the original pup. The owner called the store, he confirmed that it was still available and told us he placed a hold for us. 35 minutes later we pulled in after talking about names and plans with our 8 and 10 yr old boys. We approach the desk, the sign says Sold, the lady we dealt with the night before confirmed that this "sold" was indeed for us and started the financing process. Then another girl comes over and tells us sorry there is another couple looking at the dog and they might buy it. We were extremely confused as the sign says sold, we were with the owner how could this be. Basically we got a sorry do you want a different dog. The lady we dealt with was very nice but the rest of the staff and especially the owner are Dirty Rotten Liars and Crooks. He should be ashamed of himself and I do not recommend EVER doing business with them. I'd give negative stars if I could. My children cried for hours afterwards. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! DO YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY AN EXTREME FAVOR AND WORK WITH REPUTABLE BREEDERS. Update: Gary, I can assure you that money was not the issue. We were simply looking around at different pups. It wasn't until we did our due diligence that we decided that was the pup we wanted. I can understand if we just walked back in the following day and it was sold, that would be on is. However when the Manager/Owner calls the store on our behalf, tells us it's available and on hold for us. We get there the sign says sold, the lady is processing our paperwork and payment and then another lady says that there is a couple looking at it that might want her. Why does the sign say SOLD??? They hadn't made a decision yet. Why were they processing the financing? Your store or rather YOU messed up! Nice of you to blame the customer, classy management. Ultimately, you did my family an enormous favor. We are picking up our two pups on Saturday for $4,500, compared to your single pup at $4,350. The lady processing the payment for me was so flustered because of your actions. And you should speak to the other girl who sold the dog as she told my wife that it's probably because you wanted to finance and she is paying cash. Again, it was meant to be as the pups we are getting are coming from a wonderful home and never had to sit behind the glass of a pet store. You can blame the customer if it helps you sleep better. However, we both know you screwed up. Buyer beware folks, since I have been sharing my story with friends, I have heard absolute nightmares about this place and the sick dogs they sell at an insane mark-up. Just do yourselves a favor and do your homework. Ask the name of the "Breeder" they are working with and goggle them, if they tell you, I'll bet what you find will be eye opening. read more

I purchased a yorkie-poo from CT Breeder on 8/22/23. At first I was a little skeptical regarding the price, but he was so cute I purchased him anyways. The business is very clean, and the entire time I was there about 3 1/2 hours the cleaning staff was moping and wiping down cages. I was very pleased about the clean environment. Both the assistant manager and the manager were very helpful, in explaining all details to me regarding my new puppy. Called this pet store prior to going to confirm they have what I was looking for. Spoke to the staff members and was told to come in because they had several dogs that are "teacup" sized and fit my criteria. However, when I went there, there were no dogs that fit that size. I was then told by the manager, Alison, that they have an Imperial Shih Tzu that won't grow bigger then 5 pounds and that instead of having that dog go to their other location, she can have it come to Norwalk. I was told to give a deposit to ensure that it won't be sold to the public. I gave the deposit based on the information that I was given in the dogs expected growth. Reached out to my veterinarian office who told me that they are giving me wrong information and that there is no such thing as a ShihTzu that is 5 pounds or under. They grow up to 15 pounds or more. I also spoke with other pet stores who confirmed this information. The manager was just telling me any lie to get a sale. I canceled my order but they are refusing to give my deposit back. I then asked Allison to apply my deposit toward another dog that fits my "teacup" size but she just ignored my request. I've asked to speak with the owner several times, just to be told to reach out to their corporate email (even though they are a local Business with no corporate office ). Reached out multiple times to get through to someone above the manager but was told by the manager that it won't happen because she's "done". Do yourself a favor and go to a breeder that you can find through the AKC website that will give you accurate information from the beginning. You'll end up overpaying here and get nothing but lies so that they can just make money off of you. read more

Please know I highly recommend CT Breeders! I worked with Georgina who was absolutely amazing throughout this whole process. I placed a special order for a female mini poodle with red hair. Within a few days Georgina sent me a beautiful picture and that was it. I named her 'Faith' and I'm so happy! Faith is beautiful, friendly and loving. Georgina spent time with me on my pickup date. She gave me time to bond with Faith. Georgina then explained all the paperwork and helped me choose other accessory items I needed. The dog didn't have a minor cough, he had a parasite with kennel cough and had to be taken to the emergency vet 48 hours after the purchase which cost $1000. We stopped by CT Breeder because we wanted to see if there was a new family member there for us. We said goodbye to our longtime pet Sammy in the fall. They were fantastic. They spent nearly two hours allowing us to play with (Rosie) and explained all the differences with her breed etc. They did not pressure us and were incredibly helpful!!! Rosie was the perfect fit for us and is doing very well already acclimating into our family. I can't thank them enough for their patience, professionalism, caring and understanding attitudes and for their commitment in finding the right fit for each family. There was another couple there with us who also found their newest family member. They don't care who their pups go to, they just want to get them sold fast to make money. Ever since my pup was about 8 months old, he's had an abundance of GENETIC health conditions, (genetic meaning this all could of been prevented if he were bred by a responsible breeder and not from a puppy mill), costing me thousands of dollars. Not only that, he has severe aggression. Ive taken him to countless trainers, all of which say his aggression is not normal, part of it is from not feeling good from his numerous medical issues, but the other part, once again, GENETIC! His brain isn't wired right, he's attacked my family countless times. We're about to make the hardest decision of our lives, and get him put down. We love him sometimes, but due to his medical and aggression issues, we have no other option. We're broke from spending thousands and thousands of dollars on vet bills and trainers, he could KILL one of us! If we had children around our home, he would of likely killed one already!
