I brought my 5 month old puppy here. Explained on the phone it was his first groom and the women on the phone went through the process Of getting a dog familiar with the process. When I got to the appointment they immediately took him in and just said "it will be an hour and we'll text you". Barely greeted me or welcomed me to their facility. I sat in my car (during a work day in the rain and an hour goes by and nothing... I go in and they say it's going to be longer. Come to find out the groomer had no idea it was his first groom, he wasn't doing well, and they never bothered to come out and tell me this would take 2 hours. They put him in the kennel with the dryer without asking me and my dog wouldn't sleep in his crate the next two nights he was so traumatized. When I expressed my frustration to the 25 year old manager she apologized and didn't offer anything for my trouble (I asked to use a bathroom and they said they didn't have one). When I asked to speak to the groomer she came out and basically laughed when she found out it was his first groom. I went to another groomer today and she was shocked he was ever groomed. His feet were matted and he had to great groomed. I don't even think neon dog bothered to look at his feet. What a terrible place. Like a factory in there with no senior level professional management. Never again. read more

Julianna did an amazing job with my huge dog, Grizzly. She bathed and brushed him in only an hour. He smells great and his nails are much shorter now. They gave him a cute free whale handkerchief. He's also surprisingly happy after the groomer's! Thank you! read more

They did a great job with my cavalier. He looked great after highly recommend. Did exactly as I asked, after coming out and asking to be walked through how I'd like him groomed. Also gave opportunity at the end for corrections but he looked great. read more

I've been taking Mia to be groomed by Jody at Neon Dog for about 8 months and they are consistently great. They do exactly what I ask and they handle her really well. I'm very grateful. Mia is usually a ball of anxious energy when we arrive and they handle it like it's no big deal. Thank you, Neon Dog! read more

They typically do a fantastic job on trimming my dogs nails and "grinch" feet! I don't usually pick an individual, just allow whomever is available, so there have been a few times his paw trim is more choppy than usual, but I've never had a bad experience. They also listen to you and really try and make your pets comfortable while they are in Neon Dog's care. Highly recommend (: read more

Excellent my 3 pups love it there. I'm So happy I found them. I like to keep my golden-doodle scotch on the longer side and they are so good about that. My two Frenchies goose and Tito's love their bath. They are excellent with. Thank you from Tito's goose and scotch. read more

This was my first time at Neon Dog. A friend, who also has a west highland terrier, recommended it. Someone met me in the waiting room, as soon as I arrived, and asked very specific questions about the cut I wanted. After I dropped her off I received a phone call asking if they could cut her shorter in some areas because her matted fur made it difficult to brush. I picked her up a little more than an hour and a half later and the woman who cut her was kind and explained everything that she did. The attention to detail was not necessary nor was it expected, but I was thrilled with the entire experience. The front of the business is also a shop with collars, treats, outfits, toys and more. I am beyond impressed with the service. This will be our groomer moving forward. Thank you Neon Dog! read more

I have standard poodles and they are groomed beautifully! Everyone is lovely and easy to talk to!

New management. Now there's a "special handling fee" if your dog is too wiggly and requires another person to hold him/her still. Was not told about this when I was first charged for it. It is now on a written display, but still seems a little ridiculous esp bc this place is not cheap to begin with. Terrible customer service from front desk receptionist, Naijja. Came late to an appointment once and was turned away after calling and communicating that I was running late and was on my way. They would've been better off telling me to reschedule rather than have me come and turn me away based on a 3 minute discrepancy. read more

An excellent place! My 10lb mutt looked GREAT when I picked her up. Also: they texted me 15mins prior to pickup which was helpful. And my dog is shy when meeting new people but she liked them. Will come back. read more

They always do a great job with our golden doodle! They keep notes from each appointment so they remember what we like. Recommend!

Groomers have incredible patience with my two older (but feisty) pups. Thus far, they've done a great job - doggies look beautiful and seem happy when they come out after their sessions. Perhaps a bit pricey compared to other places, but they're reliable, on time, professional and always courteous ... plus which The Neon Dog has the cutest little shop: collar/leash sets, "organic" treats, home-baked doggie cookies (decorated & fun), nice sweaters & shirts, etc. There is a place to wait if you choose to (though there are plenty of restaurants and snack places nearby), and a dedicated parking section just for Neon Dog clients. All in all, a great little place. read more

Main thing: easy to make an appointment with less than week to wait. All the full groom services were perfectly done. I asked for no perfume and he smells only like clean dog, not a French Fufu House. The groomer took her time, worked out knots, got all his places, ears, nails, bottom, and kept his face, head, and tail longer. Very artistic. She took two hours. I hope my tip reflected my full appreciation for her skills and time. read more

UPDATE: the vet said we need to bring her in ASAP. What this place has done to my poor dog is unacceptable. Brought my dog there today for a bath/brush, de-shedding, and a foot trim. For some reason my dogs butt and entire groin are completely shaved, even though nobody asked me, told me, or explained anything about it. She has these awful bloody angry looking blisters all over her groin now. read more

My dog always smells great when she leaves there! They are easy to book/communicate with and reasonably priced.

This is our second visit to Neon Dog and we are so pleased with the customer service, the pricing and the great care for our doggie. Our first visit, Kyla understood exactly what we were looking for with a mini Aussie labradoodle grooming and she did it again with this visit. We are very pleased and highly recommend Kyla and Neon Dog! read more

Took my puppy here to be groomer for the first time and was very pleased with how they cleaned up. She was super soft, smelled fresh with soap, and they even got out the pine pitch from her fur. It was easy to book and took a reasonable amount of time to be done (just over 1 hour). She came home with a cute bandana too! I would have liked more feedback of how she did since she is a puppy and this was her first time. When I asked I got the "no news is good news" answer. read more

I recently took my 8 yr old Golden Retriver for a full clip They preformed this exact service last year with no problems. They could not get the job done this time, saying the dog was not cooperating. Eight year old, golden retriever, not very active. They still charge me for a bath and a clip. I cannot tell the difference from when I dropped him off other than the bath. $100 charged! Not going back it's too bad because I like this business . FYI, I just got Duke home and noticed that there was no grooming whatsoever. He still has mats behind his ears ! read more

We went to CT for a weekend getaway.. I found this super cute place on yelp before the trip and made a point to go! The staff are very unprofessional... they did not greet us, were annoyed and huffy. When I asked a question about a harness they were unfriendly and wouldn't even get up from the desk to help me. I walked out in disbelief and frustration. I wish I could give zero stars. It was a very disappointing visit. I will never be back .. I hope the business owner takes notice to how their staff are treating customers. read more

A big thank you to Max and the entire Neon Dog team for an excellent first experience! After a bad experience at another groomer I had to take Riley in for the second time in 1 month. I live in NYC and have family in CT but will definitely be scheduling our visits around Riley's grooming schedule! read more
