I cannot recommend Ryan Lawn and Tree enough. My husband and I struggled for several years to keep our grass green and to fertilize correctly. The first year we used Ryan Lawn, there was a huge improvement. Ben, who takes care of our lawn, is a wealth of information and can answer any questions about your lawn or any trees and shrubs. I have 5 arborvitae that were struggling after a rough winter. I asked Ben about it and he fertilized them. They've each grown a full foot since the fertilization. My lawn, trees and shrubs are absolutely thriving. If I ever have a problem or question, I can get ahold of Ben between treatments and he's happy to help. Additionally, after talking with Ben about a tree in my backyard that is dying, he set up a consultation with Ryan Lawn's consulting arborist. I ended up the top half of the tree removed. This tree was approximately 40 feet high. I had to leave my home before the job was completed and when I came home, I could not find a single leaf left over from the job. They removed every piece of debris from my backyard, from the side yard where they were carting the debris away, and from my driveway. Seeing how much debris was around and then seeing it after the fact, I was impressed. Ryan Lawn is a team of true professionals that really care about customer service. read more

For years I have done my own fertilizations, weed control, aerrating, etc, but as a single father with lots going on, a little time saving would be beneficial. I started using Ryan's Lawn Care four months ago and have cancelled further services today. I was paying for lawn fertilization and weed control in the rock beds and driveway. The following is what worked well for me, as well as what did not work so great. The Good:- My first application was free, thanks to a promotional campaign. - Quick response if you need them to come back out. - Detailed information is provided by email after each service, but I wonder how much of it is "canned." The Ugly: * When the rock beds were treated for weeds, some of the overspray killed the grass. This was not in an isolated spot, but seemed to be the 'norm'. Some of my plants were also affected by this. * I just had a new patio poured and new grass seed put down. On the first application, the technician went right on ahead and walked through the newly sprouting grasslings and seed. * It seems that i was not due for another service until the Fall. Weeds were overrunning my rock beds. The driveway had weeds in the cracks. My yard had weeds all over the place, including Nutsedge. I called to see if they could take care of that since I was in between applications. They came out right away to treat the areas and then sent me a bill for $73.00. The charge was what upset me because it was completely unexpected. If when I called the office, they had said, "Sure, we will come out, but there would be a charge for the 'xx program," I would have understood. I don't like unexpected, sneaky charges. I called the local office to see what happened. Because the extra charge was not communicated, I decided to terminate the service. The woman snippily said, "So you don't want your lawn care manager to contact you about this, then?" Another miscommunication... Gosh, that was an option? "No, thank you."When I do my own lawn, it's a lot of work loading up a tractor with a spreader, aerrator, sprayer, etc., which takes time. IMO, my results are better and there are no surprise charges... no wondering when the next service will be... no snippy people to deal with. In the long run, it costs me less but takes away the convenience of having a service provider. That's how it's going to have to be for now. A simple thing, like letting a customer know upfront about charges, shows transparency. That did not work here. read more

Have used Ryan for several years and my yard has never looked better. I have had people stop and ask me who does our lawn as it one of the best in our area. Occasionally I have a question so catch the technician when they arrive and discuss what I have a question about. If I have a more urgent question I will call to talk to a manager or send the tech an email. So far I have been very satisfied with what they do. They are not perfect but I think they really care about the job they do and if there is any problem they have been good about addressing it. read more

we have used Ryan Lawn and Tree for years and are very happy. Recently, a new neighbor hired a "landscaping company" to limb trees and remove a huge stump from their recently purchased home. Safety was NOT a high priority for that company. No employees wore any protective gear, at all! Watching the progress throughout the day without any protection, made me appreciate Ryan Lawn and Tree's safety measures even more. Ryan is safety conscience , (and so much better at clean up!). Ryanlawn company does our house pests control and lawns weeds control and fertilizes. on May 15th Ryanlawn company came did the weeds control Or something else. I didn't ask my husband. He is the one deal with this company. this time Ryanlawn company charge on my debit card twice a day . One is $93.75 and other one charge is $51. They came out to our house did the weed control. But after one week, our front and back yard weeds grew more stronger. I even wondering this guys did weeds control or did fertilizer . the weeds just grew fast and stronger. My husband called and ask the company manager the weeds didn't die at all. This manager told my husband gave time. This is what look like after we wait for a week. I am asking my money back and cancel all of the business with Ryanlawn company. also. Please do not charge any money on our debit card. I dont understand my husband foolish enough to give someone debit card number even don't know they qualify to do the job or not. Ijust trust them charged whatever they want. I called Ryan Lawn & Tree for some assistance with some areas of dead grass in our yard caused by our dog. I was told I would have a visit from a turf specialist within 3 business days and be given their recommendation and quote. Four business days go by with no visit and no call. I called them again and was told the turf specialist would call me. Well, this prompted a call from Craig with an apology and a promise to be out the next day. It's now 3 days since that call and still no visit or any further communication from Craig or anyone else in the business. I've since contacted 2 other lawn care companies and had visits and quotes within 2 days. My experience with this company was nothing but a big disappointment. I found Ryan Lawn & Tree on Yelp. I checked their reviews on Angie's list as well. Many people had great things to say about them and deservingly so. I did shop around and got quotes from three other companies that offer tree services and everyone quoted about the same price for the tree pruning we needed. So I knew the price was a fair price. Never having had to take care of a tree before, I didn't know what to expect and thought when I got the pricing first that it was high. But it was a big branch of a neighbor's tree that was growing towards our new construction home and we knew it was only a matter of couple of summers before the tree would touch our home. I wanted to cut off the branch proactively. I sent a Yelp message and got an instant reply. Scheduling was easy and I was able to correspond with one of the owners via text msg. The ease of correspondence is what made me choose them plus all the good reviews, of course. The service team arrived towards the end of the 1 hour window they gave us. We were informed they arrived and they finished their task in a few hours. We have 3 week old sod under the tree and they made sure to do no damage to it. The cleanup was excellent as well. This tree was not a city owned tree but they offered to work with the city to get a permit if needed at no extra cost. I recommend them to anyone looking to maintain trees in the St. Louis area. read more

We can't say enough good things about Ryan Lawn & Tree. They've been to our house twice now, removing and trimming trees. They're pretty meticulous about cleaning up, and respond well when I asked for a few more limb ends to be removed (fire blight in a Cleveland Select). It was ok I suppose. They didn't really clean up when done. They left a rake in the yard, limb and a slice of a big branch and didn't clear stump to grade like they said they would. They just spread it all way out. They didn't leave invoice for last job and then tried to charge interest later. read more
