The net of it is that there was never any pressure to buy - i had several interactions with the Soundings team over a period of about 18 months and both times they started with conversations about what I wanted to achieve from all perspectives - equipment, usage (music, film), and aesthetics. And at the outset of both interactions, they wanted simply to visit my home so they could understand the environment in which i was working. After the first interaction, i did nothing other than completely change my plans as i was in the midst of re-modeling my basement where i was planning to put the A/V equipment - most of which i already possessed. Once i completed that, i returned to Soundings and started over with Mark, who happened to be at the store when I arrived. Again, never any pressure to buy, but simply a conversation about what i wanted to do. At that point, most of it was related to A/V furniture and installation of a TV. We decided to add a subwoofer and replace some of the builder furnished in ceiling speakers. Once it was delivered and installed, then the fun really began. The Soundings master set process is truly amazing. I refer to the Soundings team now as the Sounder Whisperers. My stereo has never sounded so good. Mark arrived with several known source materials (audio and film) and we proceeded to spend several hours listening and using an organized process, making what are seemingly infinitesimally small movements in the placement of front, center, and sub speakers. This process truly fit the equipment to the room and sounded superb. Even though I was satisfied - i could still tell a difference in my 20+ year old equipment compared to some of the equipment i had listened to in the store. Moreover, my speakers were a little large for the space. Thus, i returned to the store, was encouraged to bring some source material, and then simply spent some time in one of the rooms and listened. To make a long story short, I decided to upgrade both my speakers and A/V receiver. It was a two step process as i didn't quite believe that the electronics could make such a huge difference in sound, but it was truly amazing. After a few months to let the equipment settle in, we repeated the master set process and I now have a sound system that matches the full sound i heard at the store. Whether it's listening to audio or watching a movie - the experience is wonderful. As i said, there was never any pressure to buy anything, just conversations around what i wanted to achieve. Certainly there are different price points to consider, but they have really done all of the research for you and what you'll find at Soundings is remarkable sound at each of their budget levels and a great staff that is truly interested in helping you achieve your A/V goals. Adam helped me build my first true hi-fi system with turntable, amp, speakers and subwoofer on a relatively modest budget. I worked in electronic retail sales on commission in the late 90's and early 2000's with extensive customer service training so I do not say this lightly. I was originally planning to buy just a turntable from Soundscape and buy everything else online but Adam let me bring some speakers I could only find online to their beautiful showroom and compare them side-by-side with some Sonus Faber Lumina's. I ended up returning the ones I got online in favor of the much better looking and better sounding Sonus Fabers. It didn't hurt that Adam gave me a great deal on the like new demo/floor models and a demo amplifier that paired with them perfectly. Moreover, Adam helped me set up my turntable, lent me an expensive microphone for subwoofer room correction (which made a big difference), and gave me lots of technical support and education for getting everything set up properly. Throughout this whole experience I never felt rushed or persuaded to spend beyond my original very modest budget. I also got better deals than I could find anywhere else. I would not recommend bringing DJ equipment here for repair…read more I brought my Pioneer DJ Opus Quad in because both of the top USB ports stopped working. Before bringing it in, I had found multiple Pioneer DJ forum posts describing what appeared to be the same issue, and the repair seemed fairly straightforward. I emailed with Ian for about a week, explained the issue, and shared the forum posts I found. He told me he was confident he could fix it and just needed to open the unit to confirm which parts needed to be ordered. After I dropped it off, they had the unit for 4 full weeks before the issue was even confirmed. At that point, Ian confirmed it was the same issue described in the forums and told me I could pick it up while we waited for parts. I happened to be out of town that week, so I left it there in case the parts came in while I was gone. Two more weeks went by with no update. I emailed asking if there was any status on the parts because I didn't want to pick it up if they were going to arrive soon. I received no response, so after two days I went in and picked it up. When I got the unit home, I immediately noticed something rattling around inside. I also found a bag of screws inside the case, so it clearly had not been fully reassembled. The entire top of the unit was loose. When I carefully lifted it to see what was rattling, I found that all the plastic screw posts along the bottom of the unit had been broken off of the top plate. One of the broken pieces was loose inside the unit, and the others still had screws in them. So after having my deck for 7 weeks, with very little communication, I got it back in worse physical condition than when I dropped it off. Even if the USB ports are eventually repaired, the top plate can no longer be properly secured without replacing the damaged plastic top plate. At this point, I do not trust them to work on the unit again. If they could not open it without breaking it, I have no confidence they can repair the original problem or the damage that occurred while it was in their possession. This was a 1-star experience. I brought my deck in for repair, waited 7 weeks, received almost no communication, and got it back damaged.

After I paid for installation I was directed to a website to make the appointment for installation. I was happy that I ordered it while the house was in escrow because the first available appointment was not for a couple of days after we moved in. One day before the installer was supposed to come, I received a call stating that he would not be able to make it. So, the next available installation date was 12 working days from the day I was supposed to have installation. Today, at 6:51 pm MT, one day before installation, I received a phone call stating that the installer would not be able to come out tomorrow and the next appointment is 11 working days away. I'm really not sure how I like Starlink because it is not up and running like I was told it should be, but I sure DO NOT LIKE their customer service if they are going to continue to use Ontech. I am now waiting for a call from the Starlink office because AI told me that the office is closed and someone would call me tomorrow and we could find a local installer. WHY WAS I NOT TOLD THAT BY ONTECH when the first time they changed my appointment. Does everyone have to be turned down my Ontech two times before Starlink will get involved and help? I will need to wait and see what happens tomorrow, but I pray that Starlink has other local resources that can come right away. Paying for something I am not able to use it really frustrating. I have it out in the yard and sporatic internet but I am using a lot of my phone data as a hotspot and that would be very costly if I didn't have unlimited data. It is very slow because I only have 5G for a short time and then it goes down. I have not seen any other reviews and I can't imagine I am the first one this has happened to. Anyway, my suggestion is... if you get Starlink ask them for a minimum two resources for installation so you don't get left in the dust.
