Gave em two stars because the installer of my starlink was a pretty nice guy. But he also came I'll prepared with not enough cable to properly place the dish. Of course they won't come back out and fix it because I signed the paper. So beware, don't sign papers unless you know it was done right. In fact, I would advise against using them, period. read more

OnTech - Yeah...this is Ontech's handiwork. Am being told by them too bad. - Home Network Installation Near Me

I just moved to Polson, Montana and was told that Starlink is the best Internet service for the area I moved to. So, I started service and paid for it to be installed. After I paid for installation I was directed to a website to make the appointment for installation. I was happy that I ordered it while the house was in escrow because the first available appointment was not for a couple of days after we moved in. One day before the installer was supposed to come, I received a call stating that he would not be able to make it. So, the next available installation date was 12 working days from the day I was supposed to have installation. Today, at 6:51 pm MT, one day before installation, I received a phone call stating that the installer would not be able to come out tomorrow and the next appointment is 11 working days away. I'm really not sure how I like Starlink because it is not up and running like I was told it should be, but I sure DO NOT LIKE their customer service if they are going to continue to use Ontech. I am now waiting for a call from the Starlink office because AI told me that the office is closed and someone would call me tomorrow and we could find a local installer. WHY WAS I NOT TOLD THAT BY ONTECH when the first time they changed my appointment. Does everyone have to be turned down my Ontech two times before Starlink will get involved and help? I will need to wait and see what happens tomorrow, but I pray that Starlink has other local resources that can come right away. Paying for something I am not able to use it really frustrating. I have it out in the yard and sporatic internet but I am using a lot of my phone data as a hotspot and that would be very costly if I didn't have unlimited data. It is very slow because I only have 5G for a short time and then it goes down. I have not seen any other reviews and I can't imagine I am the first one this has happened to. Anyway, my suggestion is... if you get Starlink ask them for a minimum two resources for installation so you don't get left in the dust. read more

I would absolutely not recommend OnTech Smart Services. I waited an entire month for an appointment to have my Starlink installed, stayed home all day waiting for the technician, and no one ever showed up. What makes this even more unacceptable is that the technician documented that they came to my house, knocked on my door, and called me. None of that happened. I work from a home office at the front of my house and was there the entire day. I also have five dogs who immediately bark when anyone approaches or knocks on the door. I received no knock, no phone call, and no indication that anyone ever came to my home. To document otherwise is simply not truthful. After already waiting a month, I was then told the next available appointment is another two weeks away. I rely on internet service to do my job, so this isn't a minor inconvenience. Their failure to show up has now put my employment at risk. The complete lack of accountability, communication, and reliability is unacceptable. Missing an appointment is one thing. Claiming you showed up and attempted to contact a customer when you did not is another. Based on my experience, I do not consider this a trustworthy company and would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

This may be the worst experience i have ever had with a company. Starlink needs to reconsider teaming with these people. I have been waiting for over 20 days, had two no shows, and once i tried to reschedule was told it would be another 2 weeks. If you are considering Starlink, remember they can't control install and the people they are using are not reliable and don't communicate. I live in Bentonville Arkansas. read more

Starlink sent me to them to install and the are not with the times. I called for an appt and got thru the entire process when they found out I lived in a metal building they said they wouldn't install it cause I live in a metal building. Then an hour later they sent me an email with a confirmed appt. When I called to question it they again said oh, ya we won't do that! So THEN they cancelled the appt. Stupidest rule around. Starlink is installed on metal building all over the place. They need to get with the times! read more

Been waiting all for for them to arrive. Was scheduled to be here between 8am and 12pm, never showed, then got an update they assigned a new installer that was supposed to be here at 4:42pm.... it's 5pm and no one has contacted me or updated the arrival time. I called and they told me the new arrival time is 5:42pm. Really bad service, not recommended. Update: they called me at 5:55pm and canceled the install, tried to rebook me on the 10th.... today is the 3rd. Horrible service, tempted to send my StarLink back and keep my current provider. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would for OnTech. We were scheduled to have a technician come out and install our StarLink. Tech shows up to our house and stayed around 15 minutes. He said that he needed to go back and get a taller ladder. He said he would go get the ladder and be back. The issue is the tech leaves and does not come back. After waiting 3 hours, we called in and the dispatcher (who was nice) said the tech had put in a request to reschedule once he left our house. We were never notified. Also we attempted to call the tech a few times prior to calling the customer service number, but he would not respond. We had his direct number from where he had called confirming he was on his way. We understand things happen but due to no communication we ended up missing 2 important appointments that afternoon. The lack of communication was horrible. Would not recommend. read more

These people are liars. They lied to us and we have it on camera, including audio. They sold and installed products that weren't what was promised and tried to take the empty boxes so we wouldn't find out. They had also marked up the products well above what can be found at Best Buy or Amazon. The return process was horrendous and took over a month to get refunded and we weren't refunded 100%. Nick Bradrick (installer) and his manager Carlos are crooks. They pray on old people and people without technical knowledge. Beware of this company! read more

Never work with this company. They overcharge, perform the job poorly, and there is no service to get them back to do it properly. When you call their service line, they do the talking without delivery. It is a waste of time and money. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They charged me for two hours of service, when they were only here for 58 minutes. Bruce, the technician was totally a ConMan. You can get no help from customer service, you are not able to speak with a manager, and they will tell you what city or state they're located in. They said they investigated My complaint, and they found the technician to be in the right, and the case is closed. So they charged my credit card an additional $174.06. I have made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and hopefully they will be able to help me with this. Stay clear of this company. read more

OnTech servicing CA- We had a very disappointing experience with OnTech. We prepaid $300 to have a TV mount installed, and no one ever showed up on our scheduled installation day. Throughout the day, we called multiple times for updates. First, we were told the technicians were delayed but would still arrive later. Then we were informed that our specific mount would cost an additional $180 and require a second installer -- something that was never mentioned when we booked and prepaid. Despite this surprise upcharge, we were assured they were still coming. By 5:30pm, no one had arrived. When we called again to find out what was going on, we were told they would not be coming at all and would need to reschedule. The representative attempted to transfer us to someone else, but the call went to an automated message saying the company was closed. We then contacted customer service, but they were unable to help, claiming their scheduling system was down. There was very little empathy for the inconvenience, and we were simply told we would receive a refund in 7-10 business days. We rearranged our entire day to be home for this appointment, only to be met with poor communication, surprise charges, and no service. Extremely frustrating experience. Ended up reporting to the BBB! read more

I nstallation tech was great and did a great job explaining. The issue is he arrived and told me I ordered the wrong installation package and I needed to agree to the additional charge or he would leave and I would have to reschedule. It turns out I was overbilled by over $100 and Ontech would do nothing to help me even though they acknowleded the installation should have been a different price. Working with my credit card to dispute. I will never use Ontech again read more

The technician was insisted on leaving my Starlink dish lay in the yard. When I told him it needed to be mounted he gave every excuse that there wasnt enough open sky. He started to mount the dish on the telephone pole and then said he couldn't. He showed my 20 year old daughter how to mount the dish. Very unhappy. He wasnt even worried about installing anything else. read more

Showed up within said time, decent installation. The reason they are receiving one star is because they did not remove the old security system in my house. You would think that when you spend over $300 on just installation, they would remove the old one as well. This is not the case. Reached out to them and they said I would need to hire another contractor to remove the old system...meaning pay MORE money for a simple job they should have been able to do themselves. Absolutely unacceptable. Terrible business practices. 1 Star. read more

SimpliSafe said OnTech would do the install of our security system. Booking online gave me no option for an available date. So I called them. They said "nothing is available in the next 14 days. Try calling back next week." I asked if they could confirm that I'm in their service area, and they said, "Probably. We're national." So I pressed, "Can you tell me when the next available date will be? Or if I'm going to keep getting told the same thing every time I call back?" They couldn't answer that. Based on the other reviews here, I'm saving myself a future headache by moving on. read more

Absolutely terrible company. I was charged $150.00 to have someone come out to "diagnose" the issue. At this time I was told I needed additional equipment and that would fix the problem. It cost me another $432.17. After installation and $592.17, the system did not work any better than it had worked. I called On Tech to speak to someone to get help. I also never received an invoice for the second charge. The customer service person told me a supervisor would call me in an hour. No one did. I called daily, only to get nowhere. A week has gone by and I finally received a call from a supervisor, after I said I would dispute the charge on my visa. Kevin called and argued with me about what had transpired. I have filed with my visa company and hope they find on my behalf. I was only asking for a partial credit for work that was done and not needed and equipment that was not needed. All I got was nasty customer service people and a nastier supervisor. I have no idea how this company is in business when they treat their customers like this. STAY AWAY read more

Kind of a scam. I purchased a security system from Simplisafe (also a scam) and the sales rep arranged installation through OnTech. When they showed up to do a "14 item" installation, the tech told me it did not include installation of cameras and that would be an additional $179 per camera. Why would I have someone come out just to stick sensors to my windows, which I could easily do myself. Obviously if I am asking for help with installation, it is the outdoor cameras that I need help with. Really shady and misleading. Stay away from OnTech and Simplisafe. read more

Updated Review / June 3, 2025 My SimpliSafe alarm system needed some adjustments and equipment changes since it was first installed in early December of last year by Waldo, who did a great installation. I highly recommend Waldo. May 15, 2025 Technician Manny came out and tweaked the system to work better. Two outdoor cameras were not recording motion. They needed to be replaced. Manny was on time and quite professional and knew my equipment very well. I highly recommend him. May 24, 2025 Technician Jośe came out to install the replacement cameras. Like the other two technicians Jośe showed up on schedule and was extremely knowledgeable in installing the new cameras. I know the Yelp ratings on OnTech are quite low but it seems the Los Angeles area technicians are different. They show up on time, they wore "booties" on their shoes when inside my house and were experts in doing the installations. I highly recommend this company. read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with! I was charged $423 for Simplisafe installation That never happened. We were told the arrival time of 10am-12pm On March 17. No one showed up! I made several calls and found out that OnTech subcontracts with dish for installation and there are only TWO certified dish technicians that can install security systems in the Twin City and out lying areas. I asked if the other dish tech could come and was told that he was 2 hours away. The tech who was supposed to do our installation tech was still at the first job in Hudson WI (I live in St Paul). Even though the install was never done the charge is still on my credit card. Therefore I called On Tech again and was told they would credit my account within 7 days. Horrible business! I notice now that not only did the OnTech agent lie to me and steal, he failed to complete the job. He failed to put up two solar panels.

The technicians themselves were great, but they had to come out twice. During the first visit, they weren't able to complete the power relocation and told us to hire an electrician instead. I had already purchased the power relocation kit, the cord concealment, and the Thin TV Gap Spacer. I'm not even sure the gap spacer was installed because I don't see it on the back of the TV. They also still haven't refunded me for the power relocation service that wasn't completed, even though they've known for two weeks that it wouldn't be done. read more

Absolutely delighted with OnTech installation service from Jose (LA/Orange County area) - exactly the service we requested! Jose installed several outdoor security cameras with the Simplisafe ActiveGuard protection, along with an array of interior sensors and keypads. A bit of a learning curve for us -- but, again, Jose from OnTech was fantastic! Not only did he expertly install what we requested (with great suggestions on placement), but he carefully walked me through how to use the services, etc (very important!). Very happy with the price and value of the system - and now very happy with the peace of mind the Simplisafe system brings once it is professionally installed. read more

Dec 2, 2025 Ontech installed Simplisafe security system for $314 fee. After technican left, the doorbell was not recording and 5 sensors showed very low wifi connection. VERY MISLEADING. Paid $159 for installation of "up to 10 devices". We had 3 cameras to install, but apparently cameras are not included. I'm guess this was in the fine print somewhere. Just spoke with Brian in customer service about discrepancy in installation pricing. After purchasing Simplisafe's equipment package, I received an email itemizing installation costs with a button to link me to schedule. Pricing increased by $64.99 between the sites. Brian made sure to condescendingly point out they are not SimpliSafe although Simplisafe's logo is branded all over their page. I requested to speak to a supervisor and Brian told me he was not in. I asked for a call back and Brian said it will be 72 hours. So I said "I should her from someone by Tuesday?" and Brian's response - "MAYBE"! There's a reason for the low ratings. After waiting for an extended amount time on the tech to arrive, the tech finally called me and said they couldn't make it. I was told it would be the next day before I could reschedule and 3 days later before they had a time slot for me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the agent refused.
