Came here to see Moulin Rouge. I won the tickets through opportunity to enter to win and got to go! I heard this was a must see show. Picked up my ticket at will call, which was easy. The venue is very nice. Spacious seats. Had plenty of leg room at 5'9. I don't know that there would be a bad seat. My tickets were in the top back right but I could see and hear very well. They do sell food and drinks. Parking was free and easy. Even exiting at the end was easy with staff helping guide everyone out of the parking lot. read more

This is a beautiful venue! This was our first time here and we were not disappointed! The entire staff we interacted with (the ticket scanner, the ushers and food service workers) were pleasant and helpful. The ingress and egress was well managed, with plenty of free parking. We don't think there is a bad seat in the house, albeit we were dead center and about 15 rows back for the show were there for. The acoustics were great, as were the mixers on audio and lights. We purchased a few food items and the prices were not hateful, compared to other venues we have been to. I will gladly return here for a show, notwithstanding the terrible drive (traffic-wise) that we endured. We learned a valuable lesson, to leave extra early to avoid rush hour traffic and plan a leisurely dinner nearby. read more

I went to Ruth Eckerd Hall with my girlfriend to see a Christmas Show. ****I have to mention the staff!! They are the loveliest people I have ever come in contact with! EVERY single staff member greeted us and wished us a Merry Christmas!! And....they all did this on the way in and on the way out!! It was very impressive! This Performing Arts Center is located in Clearwater. This was my second time to this theatre. It's a lovely theatre and there really isn't a bad seat. They have a lovely patio with chairs and tables. When we arrived there was someone playing a guitar and singing Christmas songs in the patio. There was also a bar to order drinks. It was a beautiful evening and everyone sat in the patio area waiting for the show to start. Ruth Eckherd Hall is laid out so wherever you sit you can see. They have a snack bar as well as a bar to order drinks. They have a large parking lot with complimentary parking. My only complaint would be that it was absolutely freezing In this theatre. My girlfriend and I were frozen to the bone. The air was blowing on us non-stop. I actually mentioned it to one of the lovely ushers. I was told that since Covid they re-did the air-conditioning system and now it's freezing! read more

I came here for the Dancing with the Stars show and I would recommend to get some traffic control since it took forever just to get dropped off at the venue. Once I got inside it was easy to find my seat as the staff was very helpful. Plus I appreciated the staff directing the bathroom traffic during intermission. It made it much more efficient. Overall I liked the venue but the traffic control would've made the difference to getting there without stress. read more

This is just the most recent of many wonderful experiences at this venue. My wife arranged this particular event with two friends of ours, to get into the Christmas spirit. The layout of the auditorium is acoustically perfect for every seat as well as having an amazing view of the stage and the artist performing. Recently want to see the Dave Koz Christmas show at Ruth Eckerd. This is my favorite venue to see a show. Just the right size, I think it holds about 2300 people, and every seat is comfortable. The people who volunteer their time helping us find our seats are all just delightful. They have some snack items available as well as a bar. Parking is never a problem because they have a large lot and they offer of valet parking for a fee. I've been going to this venue for 20 years and it remains a great venue. As for the Dave Koz show, it was fantastic as always. He comes twice a year to this venue and I never miss. read more

My last review is from 11 years ago, but I am here 3 to 4 times a year seeing concerts or attending events. Still love than you, it is intimate, but brings in national ax. Parking is always included ticket price so it makes it super simple. There's a lot of great restaurants around the area, but they have also started offering dinner packages before the shows. I've never encountered anyone on the staff or volunteers that isn't friendly. read more

I have been to various theatres and each one provides a level of experience to it. One of the best parts about Ruth Eckerd Hall is their live music and food outside before any event. I attended a traveling broadway show, Pretty Woman, and we were sure to come early just for the delicious food, drinks, and pre entertainment. Now the venue itself isn't the biggest or the smallest I have been in, so shows that you would want to see come there, but you do not feel like you are miles away inside the venue. I truly believe there is not a bad seat in the house. If I was to choose between coming here and another larger location such as the Straz or Dr.Phillips, I am choosing here. Every worker was personalable and attentive, parking was quick and easy (coming and going), and all services provided were excellent. I can't wait to come back and see my next show here! read more

Nice medium sized hall for concerts with very nice ushers. We went to the holiday party at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The hall is located in Clearwater. It's not a new facility, and it looks dated. But the size is very comfortable, and there really aren't bad seats in the place. There's ample parking on the sprawling property, but you might have quite the walk to the hall. Definitely plan to eat before or after your visit. We went to a 6PM show, so we decided to grab a bite at intermission. They have "movie theatre" food - popcorn, hot dogs, cheese pizza, giant pretzels. I can say that the cheese pizza was the worst pizza I've ever had. The hot dogs were mediocre. The popcorn was very salty and dry. I didn't try the pretzel, but my kids said that it wasn't good. The drinks were nice and cold, though, and they do have Mango Cart in a can. That being said, I found that the employees at Ruth Eckerd Hall are the friendliest bunch of people I've ever met. They doted on my kids and were quick to offer assistance. They were good at moving things along at the concession stands. read more

Attended the BlackBerry Smoke concert, 11.08.2024. Bought end of the row seats in section HH and was pleasantly surprised with the room offered and ease of which to navigate to bathroom and refreshments and also the convenient way to exit right out to the parking lot. BlackBerry Smoke killed it as usual. Everyone was very helpful that we encountered which made for a wonderful evening! read more

From Diana Ross to Michael McDonald--Olivia Newton-John to Earth, Wind & Fire--Don Rickles to Ken Jeong--I've seen them all at Ruth Eckerd Hall over the years--and George Benson just this week (April 2023). It's a great venue to see (and hear) any genre of performers. Nestled in a somewhat residential area off McMullen Booth Road, it's sort of separate from everything else-and I like that. You're close to the Phillies Spring Training facility... not far off SR 60/ Courtney Campbell Causeway. You could grab something to eat in nearby downtown Safety Harbor beforehand or opt for the pre-show dinner package at the hall. I believe it's $29 and includes a small entree, appetizers, salad and drinks-but check me on that. There are several bar carts through the building and concessions like popcorn and pretzels available, too. Go ahead get the double pour on the drink-you can take it in with you and there are cup holders at every seat. Now, on with the show! The show-room features plush green velvet seats, on a slope. They're all good-no view-obstructed spots. Just be aware that the only entrances to each row-are at the two ends. If you're in the middle-you'll have to climb over a lot of people if nature calls. But truly, I've sat all over the room and never been disappointed. It's big enough to feel lush but intimate, somehow. That makes it the perfect place to see comedians/singers/dancers-you name it. And yes, what you've heard is true-the acoustics are really good in there-it's an auditory delight! Parking is free-but less stressful if you get there early. You can grab a drink in the newly-remodeled lobby or catch a pre-show live performance in the garden out back, complete with twinkle lights. After the show, it can take awhile to get out, so sit in the car and post/text about your visit first-then you can slide right out. Enjoy the show-and it's co-star, Ruth Eckerd Hall. It really makes for a fun night. Oh! And check the schedule-they attract some awesome acts. read more

I've been here many times, it's been probably 4-5 years since my last visit (covid and all) and I haven't seen Riverdance since maybe 16 years ago at another, larger venue. The show was great, the venue is the same. It might do well to have some updating on the place... Of course I'll return for some shows. It's not my favorite venue, one reason is the rows do not have aisles, so if you're in the middle, you have to step on an entire half a row to get in or out. I have been to Ruth Eckerd Hall three times. Twice for the Florida Orchestra and once to see Sarah Brightman. The staff is always welcome and polite and share our excitement. The check in desk is always so attentive and helpful and patient. You can tell everyone here loves their job or likes to volunteer. The security and the parking helpers are also pleasant and helpful. This venue is a small but lovely theater and is easy to navigate. Each seat is great, from front to back row! There is a full service bar. I ordered wine and my friends have ordered margaritas in the past. There are snacks like popcorn offered at the bar. read more

We loved the Randy Rainbow concert. We HATED the sound. It was over modulated, and some of Randy Rainbow's words were distorted. This venue has incredible acoustics, so why was this event so loud it set off warnings on my Apple watch? It was so loud that it was uncomfortable. This is not the first time we've experienced bad sound. When we attended the ABBA tribute concert, their band was so loud we could not hear them singing or understand the lyrics. We don't remember the other other rock shows, but it seems to always be bad sound for those concerts. This is why we have only been here once in 3 years (and because of CoVid concerns). We would love to see some of the upcoming acts, but not knowing if the sound will ruin the show, we will not return until we are sure the acoustics are back to their original brilliance. We were members of this venue for almost five years, when it first opened, and the sound was amazing!! But over the years, it has been good for some shows (Neverland & Dancing With The Stars were wonderful.) and we have left because we could not tolerate the noise (I wish I could remember the bands, but they were rock'n'roll, which does NOT have to be deafening.). read more

A friend of mine set it up for a group of us to have a night out watching one of our favorite musicals, Rent! I did not know how much I needed this. The whole night of music, singing, and friends just made my heart happy. Parking was easy. We entered near the back. The only complaint there is there was only one person with a medal detector wand. It made the line move at a slow pace. We arrived early enough that it didn't effect us missing any of the show, just maybe a suggestion to have a second out there to help speed it all along. There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. We had a great view and it all was a fabulous show that was put on. We all enjoyed the show. read more

Just a local who wanted to become a member and was disappointed on the very first visit. Got front row tickets to Wheel of Fortune Live with pre show dinner package that came with a drink. Everything was set up nicely and staffed but the only thing I could safely ( I think) eat were skewered grape tomatoes and cucumber with unknown stuff on em. Yuck. I was assured the coffee should be ok The example menu has gf stuff on it, but this was nothing like the example provided. Dinner was a waste. Even the salad had breaded stuff in it leaving the staff to just stare at me confused about what the food was and what was in it. Eventually they did put a description up. Tried to get gf Tito's but they didn't have any, so stuck with Amsterdam the rest of the night. I was starving the entire show but hours in I found out there was a Gigglewaters in there! They are usually really good with gf offerings there, but hours in and after spending over $200 just to be there for dinner I wasn't feeling it and spent an extra $100 elsewhere after leaving at an accommodating spot on my long drive home that was in the process of closing around me. Expensive, disappointing night that I'll never be able to get back, so I'll be sure never to go back there again! Lesson learned the hard way! Don't get the pre dinner package! read more

Older venue which is intimate and manageable and actually perfect in terms of parking, access, seating size, etc. Generous comfortable seating with snack/drink bar. The biggest drawback is there are no vertical (front to back of auditorium) mid-aisles which means you would have to pass 40 seats to get to it if you are seated in the middle. And bathrooms are undersized to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. Other than that it's great & I will go again but seated in 1-5 or 75-80! read more

Every time I attended an event I got very frustrated with the way they have their parks lots situated. It's an awful way to start off the evening with lot attendants yelling at you, and the security people are so RUDE and obnoxious! I'll never go back read more

I have been coming here for years, and been on both sides of the stage, and always look forward to coming here, whether working a show or as an attendee! The backstage facilities are great, and the working conditions are wonderful. As far as watching a show, there is not really a bad seat in the house, but due to the way the seating is in this configuration, if you end up in a center seat, you have to work your way to the outsides in order to get out. The sound is also great in the hall, and I always enjoy sitting in the lobby having a cold cocktail before the show! read more

Wow, I've been here a few times back in the early 90s but times sure have changed. I was trying to get tickets to a performance of Chicago. The links on the Facebook post didn't work. I was forced to create an account they don't allow guest Checkout which is ridiculous and then when I tried to " purchase" the seats " something went wrong". Three times in a row. That wax after it took literally 20 minutes and clicking on hundreds (literally) of fire hydrants to prove I was human. So they use a substandard capcha system. I've never seen anything like it In my life. In addition they have stated mystery covid policies that say we have them and you have to abide. They don't tell you what they are or anything more and you can't legally have people check a bid regarding compliance without context. So it's not enforceable. I don't care about the covid nonsense it simply shows this facility seems to be run by amateurs. What makes it worse when I try to bring these issues up on Facebook messenger I helot one response then Ignored. Great customer service. Susan Crockett needs to go. She clearly has no clue what she is doing and I'm certainly going to start reaching out to the board of directors as well. Utterly horrible what this place has turned into. Truly. read more

Venue is set in a great location, easy parking, easy access, modern design, and architecture. Great acoustics every seat is a great seat, the tearing / elevation is excellent so no one blocks of your view. I'm 6'3" and had plenty of legroom never felt cramped. read more

I love going to concerts at Ruth Eckerd Hall! Especially the outdoor garden patio area where, if you have a ticket to the concert, you have full acess to an hour or so before the show. Once in, you can sit, grab a drink and listen to live music under a large, mossy oak tree. They've upgraded the patio with some great seating options, but you need to get there early. The only negative about the concert hall itself is there's no middle aisle allowing easier access to concert seats...just the aisle on either end. Otherwise, everything about the place is convenient and enjoyable. read more

Fantastic music venue. Went for the jazz festival. Love going to smaller more intimate settings for concerts and Ruth Eckerd Hall nailed it for us. My only complaint is not having an aisle down the middle. If you want to enter or exit, you have to squeeze past every single person to get to the end of the row. Understand it would take away from seats available. They also setup bars inside and outside prior to and during intermission. Wonderful evening of music. read more

What a horrible, horrible experience! It begins with the parking. One way in so unless you leave early, expect to be in line for an hour to get out. Once inside, the ushers (if you can even call them that) are rude and belligerent. They treat you as if you are bothering them. Finally, the security is worse than the airport. Given that it's not in a good area, have a CCW would be a good idea. There are much better venues in Tampa Bay than Ruth Eckerd. It is an old, dated hall and the experience is less than acceptable.
