We were thoroughly entertained by the 5 performers, laughing, and crying tears of joy through the on stage acts, which also gravitated to the audience, and the on stage costume & trivia contests. Staff is personable and efficient. Concessions are reasonably priced, and volunteers are friendly and fast. The tickets to the shows are also reasonably priced, and staff at will call are quick and cheerful!!! If you're in town for a day or a lifetime. Be sure to catch a show here.

Today was my last day of the Adult Intro to ballet. I was extremely nervous about doing it but this…read moreyear is all about doing things that I've always wanted to do. The class sessions were roughly 2 hours and once weekly. My teacher was Anne, who is also the owner. She's so passionate about teaching and i love it! I want to say every single class she's stayed to help someone with their questions. We've all had a teacher explain something and not get it but with Anne that does not happen she gives very detailed descriptions and corrections and so gracefully at that. For example one of the phrases for tucking our pelvis was " scoop your marbles". How cute!? I've completely changed my posture and picked up a new hobby so i will be continuing my ballet journey. The class cost 150 for 6 weeks so very affordable. There was a very diverse age range in my class, so please go , if you are thinking about it, it is never too late. Additionally, the ladies on the phone and front desk were always so pleasant. I took ballet , but i know Jazz and pointe are also available. Great place, beautiful environment, great community, social events, opportunities for adult performances ... what more can you ask for?! Thank you for a wonderful 6 weeks Anne! You're doing a really great thing here.

The building is absolutely beautiful and has almost 100 years of history. You can feel it the second you walk inside. Every room has a presence to it. The atmosphere is unlike anything else. You're never really by yourself...;) The concessions are great, the staff is always friendly, and I love that they haven't tried to modernize away all the character. The little noises, the old floors, the way the building seems to settle around you during the movie just reminds you this place has seen generations of people come and go. I definitely will be back. I have a feeling something there is looking forward to seeing me again.

A Cinematic Masterpiece Before the Movie Even Begins…read more If you are looking for an unforgettable night out, the historic Tampa Theatre is an absolute must-visit. Calling it just a "movie theater" feels like a massive understatement - it is a breathtaking time capsule and a true architectural marvel that elevates the simple act of watching a film into a grand event. From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a spectacular, 1920s Mediterranean courtyard. The attention to detail inside the auditorium is stunning, offering an experience that modern multiplexes simply cannot replicate. Here is what makes it so incredibly special: * The Atmospheric Ceiling: You sit under a remarkably realistic night sky, complete with 99 twinkling stars and gently drifting clouds, making you feel like you are outdoors on a perfect evening. * The Architecture: The eclectic, opulent blend of Moorish, Spanish, and Byzantine details - surrounded by gargoyles, statues, and ornate balconies - gives the space a magical, almost surreal charm. * The Mighty Wurlitzer: Arriving early is a requirement! Hearing the historic theatre organ played live before the screenings perfectly captures the golden age of cinema. The programming is just as thoughtfully curated as the decor. Whether you are catching a brilliant independent film, a beloved cult classic, a documentary, or a live event, the venue makes every single screening feel momentous. Grab some popcorn, take in the gorgeous scenery, and enjoy the show. The Tampa Theatre is a meticulously preserved local treasure and truly one of the greatest places to spend an evening!

We've been to the Straz a few times for touring Broadway productions, but this was our first time at Patel (which is part of the same building). We saw SpongeBob the Musical. Now I will admit, England Brothers Park is not the most scenic of areas given its near a highway and a neighborhood, but it is reachable, and the parking situation is much more tolerable. Since this one happens during Spring unlike most I've known of, I will warn you it gets hot so make sure to hydrate. The lack of natural shading definitely makes it a tad bit more dangerous. The festival overall is nice! There's a-lot of stalls with many homemade fantasy-themed goods, and many, many mock weapon vendors. I'll admit some of it is just RPG material you could find elsewhere, but hey, Renaissance and Fantasy go hand-in-hand so I cannot complain. The shows are also really fun to watch (especially the fencing demonstrations; beware the crest of the flaming peach, for you are "pit" against the best!) and they definitely put alot of thought and effort in the writing behind them and/or the energy and enthusiasm put into the performances/demonstrations. Familiar faces from the Bay Area also are amongst the performers at the backstage area and as usual, there's lots of jousting to be had. A-lot of good food too! You got your standard turkey legs (Thoust cans't calleth a Ren faire such without the leg of fowl), baked potatoes, tasty boba tea stalls (Belladonna's brew is thy finest), homemade sodas, and other finely cooked foods fit for royals and commoners alike. They put a-lot of effort in their food without it feeling out of place for a Renaissance faire, which I greatly respect. Only real criticism I have in terms of food is the Scotch eggs; They tend to burn them and gotta use ostrich eggs for em, regular eggs won't cut it (too much meat, not enough egg) unless you decease the ratio of beef used to surround it...But aside from that, everything's great! I genuinely look forward to coming back, and hopefully in a costume! It felt wonderful to come to a Renaissance Faire after 4 years of being unable to find one close to home.
