A treasure of a theater and always wonderful productions! It is amazing what is created with actors who put so much love into what they do.

The Capitol Theatre is a treasure - more so since extensive upgrades in 1981 and 2013. I've lived…read morein Florida since 1959, and this theater was originally for movies. Now it hosts musical acts, podcasters, movies and more! We recently attended THE HIDDEN BRAIN's podcast live taping, hosted by WUSF 89.7FM. It was a fabulous experience. We parked down the street, and it was free. The ushers and security personnel were friendly & efficient. The seats were comfortable, it was easy to see the stage from the back of the house, & the temperature was perfect inside (blazing hot outside). The ladies room had 6 or 7 stalls, and it seemed as if all of us women were able to use the facilities and return to our seats in the time allotted for the intermission. We did not purchase food or drinks, but a wide selection of each was available in the lobby areas, and adequately staffed. Prices seemed reasonable. This theatre is affiliated with Ruth Eckerd Hall. When purchasing tickets, you can save money on fees by buying tickets at their box office instead of online or by phone.

I have to say and not to be political by no form but to see all kinds of people just jamming to the same music made my heart sing because isn't this how it's suppose to be. The event is very safe family fun. Date fun or group of friends fun. and you can bring a chair or blanket the price of food and drink is typical. One thing to know they only serve beer and wine. You can buy by the glass or a bottle. If you buy bottle it's a flat $20 and they put it in a one of those sip bottles with a spout I fondly call sippy cups haha. Take a chair or blanket. I also take a small table and my own plastic wine glass because I'm a Diva can not bring any outside food or drink. They will check your bag. Get in early better yet take free shuttle from certain locations save money on parking and have a wonderful evening of live music
