I can say with confidence: "you are always exactly where you are supposed to be." Stay curious! Over 10 years we have been a part of, learned from and grown with 7 dance studios and conservatories.... ( This is specially focused on the commercial dance studios. Ballet conservatories are a completely different world...a parallel universe of sorts$ Each studio is special in it's own way and perspectives. I believe they all great learning situations and provided what our daughter and I needed at the time..... and are fun! My perspective is that WFDC is the culmination of all that is the best of each studio....and the painful experiences make WFDC even more sweet.... I appreciate Tara (the principle ) her outlook on life, art, her GREAT team. They are helping young souls find both joy in expressing themselves thru dance and building confidence for life's road ahead. You come at any level, are treated with respect and support....you grow at your own pace.. young and young at heart (there are adult classes) Get serious and join the competition team or not. It's all good at all levels. Also a special note....bring your sons!! Dance is the foundation of movement... for any other sport dance will improve performance and reduce potential injuries resulting from regular stretching of muscles and joints and a greater awareness of self & space in a group. Dance for me is the elevated merging of art and athleticism. If you do not believe, go to a ballet barre and conditioning class... it is humbling....then try to go to center floor afterwards and make a simple turn or go into releve and hold... the kids make it look easy...it is not Editorial comment: That these kids can get up on a stage, at any age, bear their heart & soul to a group of strangers and 90% of the time walk away with the experience &.... it is incredible!! Dance is so much more than the superficial performance... it is an art, a discipline and athletic endeavor that creates the kind of people I hope become more and more prolific in our future.

This studio focuses on learning things the right way the first time no matter their level of dance and always stressing on their technique. Being a former athlete myself, I'm very impressed with the solid core fundamentals and foundations of dance taught by Kelley. I also like that the classes are limited in size. There is also a variety of programs available to all dancers. My daughter is now part of their competition team and I like that Dance Central offers classes all year round so that she can continue the momentum in her dance education. It's been a great experience for my daughter.

Kelley King is an amazing teacher and does a great job of getting her dancers to push outside their comfort zone and try new things. My daughters have so much more confidence as dancers after eight weeks of camp. My girls love it at Dance Central, they came home from their first day of camp saying that they wanted continue their dance instruction at DC when they start back in the fall. I am a firm believer that we are put in the right place at the right time, I have found a wonderful new studio for my daughters to continue their dance education. My excitement faded to disappointment when after months of going for private lessons I was mostly sitting while the more popular ladies, (the ones who compete and pay them the most money) got asked to dance over and over again. They had two dances where the ladies lined up and the men danced them around and then went to dance with the next in line. My own dance teacher was asking other ladies to dance, and passing me by most of the evening. I always left early and feeling rejected. I haven't danced in a year and a half and dearly miss the joy of learning and making new friends. Obviously, there is no MAGIC for me here.

Edit after sleeping on this, but leaving my upset: For 3.5…read morehours at dress rehearsal, my son was not accounted for by the people in charge. When he didn't show up on stage (due to their neglect at communicating), not an eye was batted. He didn't have anyone come to ensure he was safe. He was left in a room with a volunteer, presumably another parent at the school. Just because you have another parent volunteering does not mean they are a safe person. When someone is missing from a place they are supposed to be, the person in charge should feel quite compelled to locate the missing person. Original review: My son worked for 6 months on a dance he will not be performing tomorrow after severe neglect from the school to have tabs on their dancers. He was the only boy in the number, and one of a handful of boys at the school. He was only performing in ONE dance. No one thought to stop and find him for rehearsal when he was missing. He sat in a dressing room for 3.5 hours for literally nothing. They never called his name to come to the stage. When I confronted (admittedly, very heated after hearing of this) the woman in charge, she offered to have him practice then. At 8:30 at night. After my son had already sat for 3.5 hours waiting for them to call him up. After they were already 30 minutes behind schedule. Picture day was just as much of a mess. This is not his first rodeo with a dance company (he is last one stopped dance programs or we would have gladly stayed with them), and it isn't mine either- after having taken classes and performing for 15 years, myself. I would drive to Tampa over going to this dance school again. You would think if this is something you do over and over again, you would have it down by now. Not happy that they robbed my son of this experience, and have set him up for complete failure.

The have the patience to work with even the most awkward dancers...me. The studio is clean, open, and inviting. They have a multitude of classes for all skill levels.
