I recently attended the Michael Connelly book signing hosted by Tombolo Books at Nova 535, and it was a wonderful experience. The outdoor space is gorgeous, with string lights overhead and bamboo lining the area - super cozy and inviting. The inside is just as impressive: high ceilings, great lighting and a sleek bar. The space feels open, stylish and perfect for events. Staff was friendly and welcoming the whole time. Can't wait to come back for another event here! read more

If you are want to meet at a lovely and ideal location in Downtown St Pete, be sure to use Nova 535. I love attending St Pete Girl Boss events at Nova 535. Their space is so accommodating and aesthetically beautiful. I love the bamboo at the entrance when walking into the space . It feels like it has the elements of Feng Shui that makes it so appealing. It has provided a unique space for presentations, small groups and larger groups. Meeting space is outside in the courtyard and indoors. There are lovely staircases and upstairs seating. Where you can meet and greet and have small groups with speakers in designated areas. It is a great place for larger group for weddings, film festivals Gala and your special occasion. I always look forward to attending events and meeting there. It is easy to get too. Be sure to check it out for any place you need for meeting family, friends and associates. I always look forward to spending a wonderful time here and the owners who manager this place are so nice and that makes each visit something I look forward to each and every visit . This spot was wonderful! I attended a convention that took place there as a vendor and it went so smooth! The staff was very nice. They saw that vendors didn't get a chance to leave their tables to go grab water and food and made sure to walk around and offer vendors water bottles and ask them about whether they have eaten. Me and vendors around me had zero issues and setting up went great! The spot had great AC which in the summer is a must. The bathrooms were clean and neat. Great venue! read more

Pretty wedding venue. But the "Please Tip" earrings that one of the bartenders was wearing is not the vibe. Is this about you or the bride and groom? UPDATE: Hello, I corrected my star rating for the venue as that bartender was indeed the only negative experience. But yes, I do remember her also verbally reminding me that "By the way, this is a tipping bar" (which bar isn't ?? And yes I can see the huge jar with cash in it) even after I had placed a tip in the jar, but she just hadn't seen me. It felt abrasive almost. Her comment made me instantly regret leaving a large tip. I'm happy to tip, but it's SO rude to ask for tips and to wear "please tip" earrings isn't fun it's one of the most off putting and distasteful things I've seen in the service industry. Especially at a wedding reception, are you kidding? read more

I was invited to a birthday party at Nova the other night and had previously only visited at a Yelp event. The courtyard was festive, filled with art and a photo booth. Inside my friends party was in full swing. He'd gotten a local barbecue to cater and had a cash bar as well. The place was fantastic. Their servers.were fast and friendly. The premier event space in St. Petersburg. Even Tampa people should know about this! The space is gorgeous. The staff is super professional. From the time you walk in the door, to the time you leave, everything is taken care of. They have a ton of restrooms, so when there is a busy event, you don't have to wait in line. There are bars inside and out, upstairs and down. The sound system is super clear and bumping for great parties. I have been to funerals, weddings, dance parties, corporate events, and networking events here and each time the venue delivers. The wow factor is 11/10. Yes a thousand times over I would recommend Nova 535 to any couple looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding in St. Pete. AJ and her team made the day of the wedding the most stress free experience for us. They took care of everything from decorations, set up, clean up, and everything in between. Excellent venue, great service and equipment to run a great event. We were even able to run a hybrid in-person and virtual meeting with their 360 camera. We went here for the Creative Loafing event, Whiskey Business, and we were surprised we'd never heard of it before. It felt private and exclusive, modern but also historical with the brick-covered walls. Upon entering, there's a beautifully lit path of towering bamboo that feels so enchanting! The indoor space featured a main floor, upstairs loft with a DJ's overlook and exterior balcony access. Multiple bars, too. I'd highly recommend it for any event. read more

My husband and I recently held our wedding and NOVA 535 and I would not change a thing about the day! Not only is the staff impeccable (shout out to Ruby & DJ Jaey), but the place is beautiful! The location is right in the heart of downtown St Pete making it easy for travel & guest stays. The courtyard and inside are perfect for large events and still has space to move around and dance (which is necessary)! I've had nothing but positive things said about the venue and staff from family and friends. They were also very accommodating with potential rain showers during Florida summers - making my day smooth and stress free! Established in 2008.

NOVA 535 Unique Event Space & Modern Art Lounge is the brainchild of Michael S. Novilla; who after graduating from USF MBA program in 1993 he began Crescent Lake Apartments. A St. Petersburg native, Michael managed the beautiful units around Crescent Lake Park; however, like any entrepreneur, he craves a constant creative outlet and was desperate for another venture. Michael got the idea for NOVA 535 while traveling through over 30 countries on 5 continents to some of the world's most renowned art galleries. While he was off enjoying spectacular rooftop lounges, cavernous night clubs, raves in Ancient Castles, market street bazaars, modern Discos, mountain top adventures, and crazy Aboriginal festivals the concepts and ideas he encountered percolated deeper and deeper into his mind. With these sights & experiences compelling his creative side, it occurred to Michael that his home town of St. Petersburg was just the city to support such a world-class destination. Thus was born NOVA 535.

Hello I'm Michael Novilla, born and raised in gorgeous St. Petersburg, Florida. After graduating from USF MBA Program, I founded Crescent Lake Apartments (1995), then developed the concept of blending and Modern Art Gallery with a Swanky International Lounge inside of a World-Class Event Space - thus NOVA 535 Unique Event Space was born (2008). I love helping my fellow Entrepreneurs, so started the Entrepreneur Social Club (2009), and we meet at NOVA 535 every Thursday 6-8pm. I noticed they do a smashburger and I am always up for a that. The wife has been watching what she eats and decided on the chicken strips. The food didn't take long to arrive and both looked very good. My burger was done right, double cheesesmash with LTO just the way I like it. I got fries with it as well and I must say these were some mighty good fries. My wife really liked her chicken strips too. They were not battered and not overly fried, still very moist on the inside. She has been trying to stay away from overly fried foods and these were not overly done. I believe she ate them all as well. Since it was early there were no seating issues like I have read from others. And if your a car person they do a last Sunday of the month breakfast buffet and car show in the morning. I've seen shows from every part of the venue whether it was right at the front on the barricade, all the way in the back corner, upstairs on the balcony and even side stage. The venue itself is not huge so pretty much anywhere you are is a good spot. They also get surprisingly good bands which makes the size of the venue even better because it's more intimate than going to a big arena or amphitheater. I do wish they would get rid of the tree in the courtyard, but that just me.

The area was popping so I followed some people wearing the band shirts before finding myself at the entrance. Jannus Live is probably the most popular outdoor music venue in the St. Pete area. The venue can hold a nice crowd and the staff from the bartenders to the security people to the maintenance crew are friendly. Sound quality is awesome as everything was loud and clear allowing for the crowd to be engaged. Only things that detract from the experience is the pricy drinks (although that's everywhere in general) and that smoking is permitted being an outdoor venue. Some people were smoking during the show getting cigarette smoke in my face. Also some fans apparently don't like when you're taking videos/photos of the performance. Some older guy came behind me and asked me to not take a video cause of the flashing light. While I try to be considerate of others, it's a freaking concert and I want to capture the artist so he can go pound sand and kick rocks. If people could tone down the cigarette smoking and stop being so damn sensitive of phones capturing things, the concert experiences would be prestine here.

First off they turned their parking lot into the concert area. This left no parking for the event. We asked if there was a VIP parking area, there was not. We asked if they had a lot that they were using for parking for the event, they did not. Their response was "you have to drive around until you find a spot to park since we used our lot for the concert" ok well, St Pete already sucks for parking so that made it virtually impossible to find parking. We drove around an hour just to finally park about a mile away and walk to the concert. Then the VIP area in the front of the stage was not exclusive to just those with VIP tickets. They let anyone walk up there. The VIP bar was cash only and the supposed VIP balcony with air conditioned bar & bathrooms was exclusively for those that were with the bands! This is a clear false advertisement! The food was nasty & drinks were way overpriced. The drinks actually weren't that bad but they weren't worth $12 each! Fergs should stick to being a sports bar. This whole trying to add all this extra stuff is going to land them exactly where their Tampa store ended up.... closed for good!

It was sold in 1998 to the Palladium Theatre and renovated. Then in 2007 was given to St. Petersburg College. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. We purchased tickets $25 for the modern dance show Beacon. We had great seats and sat second row center. It was very entertaining and had an enjoyable evening.
