This is a pretty cool place in and amongst the local scene. The night friends and I frequented this place, they had some live music going. This place has a great vibe with lots of local traffic. To me, it seem like most of the patrons were locals and not tourist. I don't know if they have a parking lot as it seemed like most people were parking on the street or at the public parking structure. I got lucky and found a spot on the street and only had to make a short walk. For us, it was quicker to order at the bar, than to wait for the waiter to service us, because it was so busy. Drinks are a little bit pricey but not too bad. No objections to coming back here for drinks! read more

Always fun to stop in for live music while out for our date night's in downtown St. Pete. There is a cigar bar attached and cigar smoking is allowed inside in case that is something you're not ready for. We didn't mind it. Ruby's is one of my favorite bars in DTSP, with the added bonus they offer live music on a regular basis. It's connected to a cigar shop, which I do try to avoid, but it does add a certain something to the entire vibe of the place. The crowd that frequents here is definitely one which appreciates the ambiance more than the bar scene itself. It's typically a mix of ages though, and especially those who are cigar smokers. They have a classic cocktail menu, of which I typically get a whisky sour or something similar. The majority of prices are close to $20. The bartenders are genuinely quite nice, and you can usually have a more stress free ordering experience when you order in the cigar shop. The bands and artists that I've seen play here are honestly pretty good, and they definitely know how to please a crowd in such a cramped space. I don't stop in here terribly often, but when I do I always have a good time. read more

I had a great time at Ruby's while on vacation. The music was phenomenal and drinks were even better. Sometimes drinks are wack in these places but my old fashioned was perfectly balanced. The smell of cigars fills the room and bounces off the brick walls of this cozy bar. If you aren't there early enough then you'll most likely have to stand all night. While it is a cigar lounge and I'm not the biggest fan of cigars, I am a huge fan of jazz music. I look forward to Thursday nights at Ruby's when I know I can catch a live jazz band and enjoy a nice old fashioned or a glass of Prosecco. We come here because of the music talent and endure the cigar smoke ... on Sunday 9/1/24, we arrived at 6:30p just as Chris Walker took the stage ... from that time to 8:01pm, there are a total of 19 people in the place .... during the 90 minutes , I counted 27 people that entered and had a visual reaction to the smoke impact and left!!!! Management would do well to put an air apron btw Central Cigar and make Ruby's smoke free ... This place deserves recognition for being able to attract musicians of such great caliber on a nightly basis. However, this place is connected to and a part of a Cigar Lounge. As smoking is permitted in this establishment, you will inevitably need to come to terms with the fact that you're going to smell it the whole time you're there and on your clothes when you leave. That being said, the drink prices are more "fair" than a lot of downtown St. Pete. The staff is pretty sharp and friendly and there's a large variety of drinks to have. Wine, cocktails, beer, and spirits, you name it and odds are the bartender can do it. If Cigars ARE your thing, then you're in luck. Not only can you smoke indoors but there a very large variety of cigars for you to choose from. Overall, worth checking out, even if you don't like smoke. read more

They've got a great vibe, and the music, especially on Tuesday night, is Awesome! I don't think you can go wrong here. They've got a diverse draught and drink selection. The service was outstanding! This is the sort of place that sets St Pete apart! Always a great time-really cool vibe; we've Always been impressed with the opening band that be plays 7:30-9:30 and main band hits the stage at 10.
