Fun stop on a Saturday afternoon for a drink. This weekend they were a part of the 727 weekend, which meant $7.27 espresso martinis. Surprisingly, I hadn't tried one here before, and also to see they serve them in a stemless martini glass. Although the bar was not busy when I arrived around 2pm, it quickly filled up and with just a couple of loud groups, it became impossible to hold a conversation. The speakers are directly above and the music was turned up to drown out the now loud groups. The martini was good, but the acoustics and volume mean I can't make this a regular spot. read more

He must have said something to the other bar tenders because they all started being really rude to me. I told them I was just there to see a little of the Thursday Night Football game. On the recommendation of a bartender at another restaurant, I walked down to this cozy spot on a slow Wednesday night in the middle of summer. And....It was okay. I was sort of tossed between three different bartenders until someone finally took my order. "I'll be right with you, and then 2 minutes later a different bartender, I'll be right with you, followed by a third who asked "have you been helped?" Which would have been fine if there hadn't been more empty seats in the place than full. I asked about allocated bottles of bourbon thinking a place like this must have something abnormal or rare. But the bartender just laughed and said he'd let me know if that ever happens. It wasn't rude, just weird. This sort of put me off, but I pushed forward with his recommended bourbon for an Old Fashioned. And it was good. But the ambiance sort of steered me away and I decided to go somewhere else after one. read more

Stopped in for a drink after having a friend's birthday dinner downtown. First, let me say the staff -- AMAZING. They overheard us cheers to her birthday and they ended up surprising our group with a complimentary bottle of bub. We were so stuffed that we didn't drink it, but the gesture was just too kind. After shots, most of us got an espresso martini as our final drink and we all really loved it. Tasted great, not watered down, and just the right amount of foam. I wanted to leave another review and not leave it at a one star because of one incident with a rude doorman. Wouldn't be fair to base my review off that, although not sure I'd come in. Despite the ridiculous dress code here where you are not allowed to wear sandals or a tank top if you are a guy... the drinks here are one of my favorite. Bartenders were nice too from what I remember. But that rule they have with the dress code should go.. we live in Florida where it is hot and humid, what do you expect. This is such a great bar. It's hard to call it a bar because you get to experience great mixology in drinks, not your average Joe cocktail. If you love trying new drinks where the bartenders have a great knowledge in flavors and creativity this is the place. I asked for a gin drink that was more dry and he asked if I have had egg whites, I said no but let's go. The drink he made was creamy and flavorful that brought out the botanical flavors. We also tried their specialty drinks- the wakame- that was such un unusual but delicious drink that left me craving more, and the snack- that wasn't as decadent as you would assume it would be since it's suppose to have peanut butter flavors, lastly we tried the windward punch which they made in house and it was a mellow cognac that didn't burn at all. It has been a month since we were lucky enough to find this top tier COCKTAIL bar in St. Pete when we were visiting my sister. I am still thinking about it. We are cocktail aficionados, and not easily impressed. Devin, the mixologist, blew us away with his recommendations, concoctions and knowledge. Our experience there was unlike most other cocktail bars . The atmosphere is moody and very well done, service is great, and the imagination put into the drinks is off the charts. If you like gin, order the drink that has a tea infusion (pictured below). They won a "best of" award with it, deservedly so. Craft cocktails take on a whole new meaning at this vibe of a bar on Central. These bartenders are insanely skilled and watching them is like a performance. Their drinks are even tastier than they look! Featured here is the White Geese, which is a mix of Grey Goose, lemon, rosemary and elderflower, with a Prosecco foam. She's picture perfect and SO delicious. Also had an espresso martini while I was there, and that definitely did not disappoint! The inside is full of gorgeous dark wood, the iconic buffalo head on the wall, beautiful chandelier and the Instagrammable bath tub photo op. Love the atmosphere created. Everyone is simply on point, in character, charismatic, and kind (but like still too cool to talk to me in High School and I am not mad about it). These folks are stars. 5 stars. Went drinking with a friend on Friday and saw this place as one of the top bars in downtown st Pete. We went around 5 pm and it was pretty empty . Just us and two others in there which was nice because it allowed the bartender to tend to us. The location is the middle of downtown with plenty of restaurants nearby and the ambiance of the place was very nice. The bartender was very helpful and informational as well pleasant in convo. He recommend smoking the old fashioned and it was a nice Instagram moment. I thought it was all for show only but in the smoker they add wood chips which add a whole new level of flavor to the drink. I had the WORST interactions with one of the employees. This male with a beard, long hair, and a mole on his face was immediately vile and very arrogant toward me, before I had spoken a word to him. I was blown away! I have no idea what the problem was with his attitude but he continued to be flippant and demeaning toward me. Hidden Gem, literally. Its surprising how many people don't know about the tiny outdoor patio in the back, the HIDE part of Mandarin Hide. The DJ spins old school hip hop which is amazing. The bartender made up a drink for me and my friend we just asked for bourbon and some sort of citrus and she gave us a cocktail with green apple, lemon, ginger, and bourbon. Man was it delicious. The decor is very cute I love that they have a tub to just like their counter part Mandarin Heights. I love the tin roof that is painted orange really grabs your eye. The atmosphere is great and everyone was just having a great time. It is has great seating along the wall. I love that from the street you would easily past it and not realize it was there.
