Well....There is a WIDE range of score ratings for this pizza place! It's kinda funny, because I actually would rate it pretty high compared to other pizza companies in the area, which unfortunately on the Dave Portnoy rating scale would probably rate under 5 out of his normal 10... All the restaurant locations are kinda dank and dingy looking on the inside because they haven't been overhauled in a REALLY long time! Still have that 1980's Pizza Hut vibe going on with the crappy old PAC-MAN type games in a dark corner of the restaurant! It definitely needs to be updated if they want to stay competitive. Because of that I haven't actually eaten inside or had a pizza party there in probably a decade plus, hahaha maybe longer than that!!! Super outdated!!! I will say the service is always great and they always get the food out quickly and as ordered. As long as you're taking it home it's pretty good pizza for Bakersfield. I used to really enjoy the roasted garlic topping, but they stopped using that one. There is only one bad thing I could say, besides the old man style decor I've already talked about, which is that their pizza is WAY overpriced! Which is why I didn't give them a higher star rating. I actually worked at Rusty's once upon a time ago and back then, an entire large Rusty's special pizza was less than $3 to make! I'm sure it's gone up since then, but definitely NOT the $30+ they charge per pizza!!! It's sad, but the BEST thing in the restaurant is the potato wedges!!! There isn't a single place I've EVER been to, that makes them better! Those definitely get a 10 out 10 star rating. As far as, just the pizza goes, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars for taste alone! Anyway, ending to the story....If you don't mind paying twice or three times the cost of other pizza places, you won't be unhappy with what you ordered! On Tuesday night 9/30/2025 I took my kids for pizza. I waited for over an hour and half to get my order. At the 45 minute mark I asked the staff how much longer my food would be to which I was told it was coming out of the oven. 15 minutes later I asked again and was told my pizza's were ready but it would be 10 more minutes for wedges and wings. Long story short I asked for a refund and no longer wanted the food. I was told by the supervisor that he could not complete a refund I would have to call the call center. I requested to speak with a manager and was then only provide a phone number to request a refund and file a complaint. It has now been 2 days and no refund or response. I think it is ridiculous that there was no customer service and the staff were acting like they didn't even know how to work or provide service. I wasn't the only person that night that waited forever for food and requested a refund that was not provided. This is poor customer service!!!!! read more

Got there at 10:30 pm and got home, opened the box, checked the time and realized I wouldn't have made it back to fix it before they closed at 11. On a positive the young lady at the register was very nice and when I asked her what they put on the fiery devil that is spicy, she couldn't remember the name of the pepper so she went and got the information for me before we left. The pizza was, as always, fantastic. Grew up with Rusty's and I'll always love their pizza. Even better than the pizza, though? Alan's customer service. Alan was so kind, helpful and genuinely welcoming. I don't know if I've ever had service as good as this. He took his time with our order and then brought it out making sure we were happy with everything. I was hired as a driver at this company and within a few months, I was promoted to general manager. I thought I had hit the jackpot, but soon I realized that this company was a nightmare. They engaged in shady and unethical practices that violated the rights and safety of their employees. Here are some examples: - They kept employees they wanted to fire until the holidays, then let them go the next day without any severance or notice. This was cruel and heartless, especially during thanksgiving. - They broke California labor law 351 by giving some supervisors tips and not others, based on favoritism and discrimination. This created a hostile and unfair work environment, where some supervisors were paid more than others for the same work. - They knowingly had osha/code violation floors that were hazardous and slippery. Several employees had slipped and fallen, injuring themselves. The company did not care to fix the problem or provide any compensation or medical care for the injured workers. when I mentioned my frustrations and put a two week notice in they decided not to honor it and ended my employment the day I submitted a two week. I was disgusted and appalled by these practices, and I decided to quit. I do not recommend working for this company, unless you want to be exploited, mistreated, and endangered. This company deserves zero stars and a lawsuit. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, I noted that the place is relatively calm and the staff polite and friendly. While waiting, I could tell that the staff did not play music at unbelievably loud volumes. Awesome experience. I was in town for the night and found Rusty's via Yelp. Ordered online. I might suggest they allow you to do so as a 'guest.' It took an extra few minutes to register. We ordered pizza delivered from Rusty's twice during the week that we were staying at a nearby RV Park. We got the Centennial both times and pizzas were both great! They were cooked perfectly and had plenty of meat and cheese. The first time was on the weekend so took longer (60 minutes) than it did during the week (45 minutes), but both were hot when they arrived. Both delivery people were personable, professional and polite. I thought it odd that I had to show my credit card and ID but first driver said that people were stealing pizzas that others had ordered and paid for-how sad is that? So, on the second delivery I was better prepared. We'll order from Rusty's again when we next pass through Bakersfield. read more

We came here because we were invited to a surprise party on the 4th of July for our aunt and it was an early event. Neither of us have ever remember the Rusty's Pizza so we were anticipating the new pizza cuisine. This strip mall has had some bad tenant problems since the Von's recently vacated due to low sales and they packed up and closed. So when you pull into the parking lot it looks a little dismal. So needless to say easy parking. We entered the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was inside. The inside was a usual pizza parlor decor of booths and tables with a back room for a private party for a large group which is where our party was. The place is very clean. Our birthday girl was surprised!! Now to the pizza.... Our uncle had ordered several different variety of pizzas. I selected combination and pepperoni. The crust was the more of a thinner crust with a decent amount of cheese and fresh ingredients and reasonable amount of toppings. I really liked this pizza!! I am a pizza person and I think I will be ordering from Rusty's Pizza when I order my next pizza. There were some elderly folks in our party that had a heck of a time with the soda machine, it is one of those new digital multi functional 125 flavor soda machines. You have to scroll around to find the soda you want by using a touch screen to find what you want, I think those are amazing, but technology isn't for everyone. Also they had very clean restrooms.
