I really wish I could give this place no stars. Absolutely ridiculous, just horrible. We ordered and we waited patiently until we noticed that at least 5 people who ordered after us got their food and we still didn't. We asked the lady and she said sorry I have no clue what is going on and left didn't even check. The other girl said yeah we have to go through the receipts that came before you which made me really mad because it didn't make sense why people who order after us got their food and there we waited 25 minutes to get no food. Placed a door dash order from here. I ordered chips and queso (clearly shown on the receipt) and I got chips and guacamole. Also missing 2 of the 6 tacos I ordered. No explanation, just no food that I paid for. Also had to wait over an hour for the food. The dasher called me twice to tell me their still waiting. We love Rusty Taco, so it's hard to have to say this. This location is very slow for getting your food. We got here (Maple Grove, MN) around 6:15-6:20 and we waited an hour to get our food. There are people who have been waiting here longer than us. We're not sure if it's all new workers or something. But the ones that were here looked angry and like they didn't want to be here. They certainly didn't have any pep in their step. So so so so SLOW. There has to be something wrong. I think they need new training or something. I think they could do well with a visit from your corporate office. And also someone to tell them to SMILE. We probably won't be returning to this location, unless they get quicker people who actually know what they're doing. The NE MPLS location is amazing. Omg where have these been all my life!?!? Not only is every taco I've tried a church choir to my tastebuds, but the atmosphere is very chill. There's even some fabulous outdoor seating during the perfect MN summers. Don't forget to try the different sauces too, they're at the pick up area in big bottles, you can take them to your table with you! I'd recommend a favorite, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. If I were a beer drinker I'd say that's a bonus too, and even when I've gone and there's a line, the wait is never that bad. read more

I was hoping to try this restaurant for awhile, but my expectations were soon defeated! I visited this restaurant shortly after the Lunch Rush, so the place wasn't busy. I was barely greeted and it seemed like I was more of an inconvenience to the guy at the counter than anything. Being friendly was not on the menu this day. I ordered a Picadillo Bowl, a beverage, and their Chicken Nachos. The Bowl was nothing more than meat and lettuce with a bit of ranch. Nothing fancy for sure! The Nachos weren't much better. I was really disappointed because I really enjoy a good Taco restaurant. Lastly, I was shocked at the cost of it being over $20. When i got up to leave, I was the only customer in the place and not one of the staff asked me how my meal was or even said goodbye. I was disappointed. I can't get no.....Rusty Taco (sung to the Rolling Stones "I can't get no satisfaction") This is what my family and I were signing as we left Rusty Taco in Maple Grove without our food, without a refund, and without the 45 minutes I spent that I will never get back. This place was a family favorite for years but no more. Had the worst experience there which was baffling due to the number of people behind the counter. 1. Waited outside for our curbside order placed online at the time indicated. Tried the phone number several times, just to go to voicemail each time (which is also a full mailbox). 2. Went inside where it took the staff about 10 minutes to finally acknowledge me (by now its been a good 25 minutes since I arrived). 3. Had a worker behind the counter simply bark at me "what are you waiting for?" , to which I gave them my name. I then heard the someone yell "order for XXXXX, cooking it now"! My order wasn't even ready! 4. I witnessed the cook (must have been new to RT and to cooking) begin making my son's breakfast taco by spraying cooking spray onto the eggs after they were placed on the flattop grill! Yikes! Also witnessed about 4 workers open and close the same taco wrapped in foil trying to figure out what it was. 5. After waiting 30 minutes and witnessing the debacle taking place as they were cooking my food, I opted to leave. Told the cashier that I wanted my money back and I was leaving. She gave me my slip and assured me I would get a refund. Conclusion: It has been over a week and still no refund of my $45+ dollars. This was a very upsetting experience, given the amount of time that I have been a customer of RT. I used to bring buyers from all my local accounts here after sales meetings and was a family favorite for easily 6+ years, but that all has ended due to the events of last week. My wife and I ate there for the first time yesterday, Oct 25 2022 and it was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The tacos were Cold, tasteless and small for the price you pay. We ordered a #8 and a #9. Very terrible!! We ordered a basket of chips and salsa. The chips were wet with grease and soggy. We could bend the chips back and forth and they wouldn't break. Salsa was tasteless. Should have known it was going to be bad when we walked in the entry way, it's where they store the empty beer kegs. Not impressive. The most unorganized Rusty Taco I have ever been to. The friendly guy at the register obviously had some learning disabilities, and no one was there to support him. I didn't get a receipt, so I asked him for one, and he didn't know how to print it. Could barely hear the people calling out order numbers (of which I didn't have because I didn't have a receipt). Rusty tacos or now R tacos, call them what you want, but they are Delicious. My favorite here is the fish tacos, with their special sauce on it. Chicken tacos are a bit dry sometimes, but if you ask them to add grill chicken, they do have that option too. The place is good and busy generally. Definitely a great upgrade from their summer truck. The place is normally pretty clean, and the service is fast. My wife tried their chorizo too, which was pretty yummy. Food is fantastic, and there isn't a taco on the menu I don't like. The guacamole is great too. That said, lately they've been very short-staffed on the weekends. The last two times we've gone it's taken upwards of an hour to get our food. Always disappointing when you have to wait 2x longer for a meal than it takes to get it! I was also disappointed in the change to their rewards program. We were saving up for the taco party and once we got enough points that dropped off the map (all that's left is free chips)... Come on! I'm kind of disappointed that this place only has 2 stars. I usually never write a review until I get home but I'm not going to wait. First off...for all of the people whining and bitching about $2.50 a taco, I think it's completely standard. I think the only place you'll find a better deal for that TYPE of taco is in Cali. The people working were super nice especially the woman who had short hair. Really good customer service. My boyfriend and I split 4 tacos. I got pretty full off of 2 tacos so for anyone complaining about not being full from anywhere between 2-4 tacos is on that AMMUUURICA obesity train. If you're looking to be insanely full in an UNHEALTHY way, then go to chipotle. But if you want something different and you want to just grab a bite to eat and be full in the NORMAL way (lol) then come here. I think the food was pretty good though. My favorite was the shrimp taco. I'll definitely get that again! The #1 was spicy to me...but then again... I think hot Cheetos are spicy (to help you get a feel of my spicy tolerance lol). On top of that, of course half of the order was missing from the bag. This location should not do curbside pickup if it is so difficult for them. Tried this place with some friends. First and last time here. Service was slow. Four out of five of us either had wrong or lost orders. Mediocre small tacos and nachos you can make better at home. Spending 2.50 on a very small dry taco and there are no combination meals or dessert items. Regular nachos had 3 sprinkes of cheese and tomatoes on it. I asked for jalapeños, but they don't have any... surprising. With a group would have been great to be able to pick 10 tacos for a reduced price or have a meal deal of some sort. I reached out to the store owner who sent me some embarrassingly pathetic response about how waiting for food can be frustrating and he never addressed any of the wrong food items. It's sad when you have to go to McDonalds after eating here to feel satiated. We visited for lunch on a Saturday around noon. The line was long so we thought it must be good. I've eaten at the location over on Hennepin Ave and it was excellent. I was mistaken. The line was long because they were really slow. The food was uninspiring and the atmosphere could have been labeled "we work here because we couldn't get a job anywhere else". Pro Tip: the Rusty Taco margarita for $5 is exactly what it claims to be, cheap tequila and lime juice. No really, that's exactly what it tastes like. Save the five spot and spring for a beer from the cooler instead. After we left (because the portions are tiny) we headed over to McDonalds for a proper lunch. I went here when it opened, optimistic and heavily biased because of my love for tacos, but it was a major let down. I had half the menu and the only taco worth ordering again was the fried chicken. Overall, they are bland, sloppily made, and the service is slow as hell. Well, I decided to give it another go since it has stuck around for a while, and the identical experience again. The breakfast taco had raw potatoes. The fish was cold and the inside of the fish looked... unhealthy. The ingredients were thrown together and disproportional. I found myself looking around mid-meal thinking, "has nobody heard of Pineda?" I'm about to stand outside of this place with fliers that have directions to Pineda tacos, along with my phone number so they can text "thank you for changing my life" after they go. Food was good but it took a long time to get it. Margaritas have gone downhill - seem weaker than they used to be. This place has not recovered from a Cinco de Mayo event a few years ago. This place always seems to be busy, which is a good thing in my book. Went in for dinner tonight about 6:45. Between two of us, we ordered 4 tacos. 2 chicken fajita tacos, 1 grilled fish taco & 1 black bean taco. It was relatively busy but not crazy hectic. Our order came out in a decent amount of time, although the fish taco took a few minutes longer. NBD. The tacos though, were just okay. The chicken tacos lacked much flavor and were pretty boring. The fish taco had a bit of an odd taste to it, kinda like the grill needed to be cleaned or something. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. The black bean taco was the best of the three with some spice, crunch from pumpkin seeds & overall nice flavor. I was surprised this was my favorite honestly. Will I be back? Probably. I'd like to try a couple more flavors just to get a better feel for the place. One other note, they had about a half dozen people working the line but only one girl working the register & she was also trying to do all the bussing. Could've helped a girl out here and pulled one of the guys off to help her cause the tables were getting messy. read more

This is about the worst costumer service I have encountered for a while. I had order 6 tacos thinking I was getting the 6 taco family pack with chips and salsa. When I didn't get the chips and salsa I asked about it they told me I had to ask to get the family pack to begin with. The family pack was 22.99 and I paid 24.00. I asked if I could just get the chips and call it even. They said no. I ask if I could refund them and reorder to get the chips and salsa they said they had to throw out the tacos and remake them. They is also after I tipped them for take out food. I did not trust them with remaking the food. The real manager has been out "a minute". Good Tacos, Great Service, but BAD if you are a veggie. I had been here once both me and my wife loved it - we went there the second time with our kids, ordered our veggie Tacos (there are 2 varieties available) Again, we loved it - until my daughter discovered a piece of chicken and bacon in it - and then I opened my taco and small shreds of chicken on it. Hmm - if you see the way they prepare - it is all on a common grill so things get mixed up. But this is where I have to appreciate the service, the girl at the counter who took my order, apologized, she said she will make the Tacos herself and she made some excellent tacos. NOPE...An Employee finally came to the door to inform me they were out of food and it would be at least an hour before any would be ready....I just bit my tongue and turned and walked away...Todd if you are the Franchise Owner I do not mind saying your facility in Maple Grove has reached the Low Point...It is Dirty...The Employees are not Trained properly and do not follow Health Guidelines when preparing orders. Unique restaurant despite being a chain bought by Bdubs. The location is great, in a complex with many good choices. We happened to go during lunch on Thursday and there was a line out the door and every seat was full. Luckily they had plenty of staff so it moved pretty quick and food was out within minutes. As for the food, not only is it a good value but definitely tasted great. Tacos are about $3 each and are a decent size, but it really varies depending on which taco you get. They have over a dozen regular tacos, a few breakfast tacos, beer and margaritas. Pictured below are the breakfast tacos. I tried the number 11 and number 13, the 11 was much better quantity wise. Would definitely get that one next time I come. I've heard the shrimp and fish tacos are both very good too. They have some nice garage doors that can open up on the side for fresh air. They also have a patio which is great when it's not too hot out in the summer. Gets very busy out there when it's nice so be sure to grab a table when you get there. And don't forget, get some chips and guac for the table to share! read more
