We had been wanting to try this place so this was our first time. Loved our tacos, chips, salsa and queso. So that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. I'd give it 2 stars for the service. Young lady that took our order never asked if we wanted corn or flour tortillas. Never asked if we had questions or made any suggestions even though we said it was our first time. We were in the car. we were really hungry and all of a sudden my mom says let's go to r taco. when we got there it was OK. then we got our food. at first sight food look disgusting. I almost didn't want to eat it. But I was starving now I wish I hadn't ate that crap. if I go back in time I would've picked a different restaurant. there was more sauce than meat on the taco. the quesadilla was extremely greasy and it tasted bad. dog food would of tasted better. after we got in the car i wanted to throw up. i am never going here again even if it was the last restaurant on earth. spoiled milk is better than eating here. don't eat here!!! read more

Good food but portions are underwhelming for the price. Wanted to give it a try, ordered 8 tacos and when I got the Togo bag it was the size that usually comes with napkins and salsa from a taqueria. Updated again: This place has steadily gone down hill since opening. It appears there is a lot of employee turnover which was translated into inconsistent product and service. I don't know if the general manager/owner is not engaged with this location or what. This recent visit and the previous visit had burnt/greasy chips, burnt chicken in the fried chicken taco, entirely (I mean extraordinary) too much cilantro in the tacos (barely even chopped,) no pumpkin seeds in the black bean taco, the lemon and lime bar by the drinks is always empty and the tables are almost always dirty. Here it is a year later and the owner has yet to put in sun shade (since the store faces west). As the sun sets it gets hotter than hell in the store and the light is blinding. Spending a few hundred bucks on sun shades would break the bank? Back to the general management of this place. My girlfriend and I go to this R Taco *a lot* (every Tuesday) and there always seems to be about 60% employee turn over from month to month. It's difficult for me to say but I'm giving up on this R Taco - we've been let down too many times in the past 6 months. read more

1st visit and last visit. Food wasn't bad but tremendously overpriced. My husbands brisket bowl has two little pieces of brisket and multitudes of rice for $7.00. Waste of money. I had #6 Rajas taco which is vegetarian. There was hardly any thing on the taco. More waste of money for $2.25. I also got a #5 Brisket taco. This was a surprise as it was very good. $2.50 for it but would not go back just for this. The inside of this place is so cold they could hang meat and call it a meat locker. The porch area was not bad but the music was so loud conversation was almost impossible. Traffic also added to the noise level. Save your money, go elsewhere. read more

Overall, a disappointing experience. Compared to Torchy's, Taco deli, and even the El Paisa down (breakfast and lunch) the road have much more flavor and are a better bang for your buck. Simply put, not enough flavor vs the competition. read more

I don't know how or why this location has the rating it does. yes, its very clean, good atmosphere, etc. However, the tacos are well... bad. We spent $13 on "street" tacos. 3 breakfast and 1 Piccadilly. No flavor, no where close to the pictures you see online. We ended up going across the street to Rosa's to get more b/c spending $2.50 for a street taco , is not where its at. BUT they do have good watermelon , sweet tea. And to the people giving this place 5 stars out of convenience , but bash everything else, change your rating. Vote with facts not emotions. Not impressed. The tacos were extremely small for the $2.50 price. It reminded me of something off of a kids menu. I had the brisket tacos which had a little bit of meat and some cheese. My husband had the fajita taco which had about 4 small chunks of meat about the size of a penny. We both liked the chips and salsa though. They only have 13 small tables inside so we were forced to eat on the patio in 95 degree heat. It would have been more bearable if they had screens to pull down to shield patrons from the sun. Really great tacos for the price! I just got done getting my marriage license with my fiancé and I was planning on going to chick fil a but when I saw Rusty Taco, I decided to go try it for breakfast. I got the fajita taco, the jalepeno sausage taco, and their Migas taco which I hope stays longer because it was my favorite. Food was hot and fresh. It was very simple but the price reflects that and the value is very good! I would definitely recommend it and I'll come try it again for lunch some time. read more

Went there last night and really enjoyed it. The shrimp taco and brisket taco were both really tasty. My kids got the crispy chicken and potato kids meals and actually ATE them. Then we ordered churros and sopapillas and everyone loved them. The staff was very nice and everything came out pretty quickly (but not so fast that it was obvious that things were pre-made). This place is perfect for going to when u are not hungry. I made the mistake of going hungry and was extremely disappointed in the amount of food\ for the price you pay. (3 tacos very little portions for $8.5) Felt like the whole menu is a kids portion. Yes I know street tacos are usually small portions but they are also much much cheaper. With the very expensive cost I expected a bigger portion. I got 3 different stYle tacos and was not impressed what so ever I left hungry and feeling like I just got scammed. This is one of our favorite places for happy hour! We always get a margarita and the tres grande. Their margaritas are super fresh and quite strong. The tres grande (queso, salsa, guacamole) is always delicious. The chips are crispy, not greasy. Everything is homemade and you can taste it! You can't beat the happy hour prices! Street style tacos. There is probably no other comparable fast casual taco spot in the general area. Good variety and good price points. Flavor is pretty good. I had the brisket, shrimp, and picadillo. Brisket was probably the best. Hot sauce options are ok/acceptable. This place doesn't meet the atmosphere or caliber of Torchys or Velvet taco, but it definitely beats Fuzzy's by a bit. Finally the food scene in the mid cities area is taking a step in the right direction. read more

We went there for the first time recently. The staff was super nice, the patio was large, but the food was lacking. The guacamole had no salt, and was SO bland. The fish and shrimp tacos were just "Meh", as well as the salsa. Queso was good. The top shelf margarita was actually TOO strong. The tacos are street style tacos. Corn tortillas taste like they are home made not purchased from grocery store. I have had chicken fajita, shrimp and fish tacos. I like the shrimp the best and the sauce on it was spicy but not too spicy. Very good deal for the money. Price depends on which taco you order. Was disappointed with my visit to this location. Had first tryed Rusty taco earlier in the week at the mansfield location, and was very satisfied. The tacos at that location had plenty if ingredients and were fresh and still warm. Had a large choice of salsas and drinks there too. I was so impressed with Rusty taco that I decided to take my girlfriend to the hurst location for our weekly saturday lunch. Had a very different experience at the hurst location. I ordered 2 tempura fish tacos, 2 drinks a elote and baja shimp taco. Went to get some tea, and found they were entirely out of tea, both sweet snd unsweet with no sign of a new batch being made. I had to resort to a soft drink. I got my order and found the tacos had a serious lack of ingredients compared to the mansfield location. I finished my meal in no more than 5-6 minutes. My girlfriend had mentioned her taco was not very warm and small too. I will not come back to this location again. I believe the service here maybe the way it is due to bad management or possibly the franchisee. read more

I first tried Rusty Taco on Bluebonnet Circle in Fort Worth and had an outstanding experience. After many tries at this Hurst location I feel like I won't be returning. The service is lackluster to say the least. The food is inconsistent and just not as well crafted as the other location I visited. Its often flavorless and soggy. Every single time my family has been here they have forgotten to give us part of our order. It just seems like a very poorly ran location. The only redeeming qualities are the aesthetic of the restaurant and the fantastic chips and queso. read more
