Sad to say it, but this place has really gone downhill over the last year. I don't even really have that high of expectations since I know it's a college area, but wow, after last night I'm finished, it was the final straw. Food quality has decreased, over the last few visits there have been some tacos so bad I haven't been able to eat them (burnt chicken, fatty brisket etc). Service has gotten slower each time but last night wasn't busy when we went so we thought we'd be fine and sat at the bar. After the bartender walked directly past us several times (we were the only ones at the bar by the way) I finally threw my hand up an waved at her. She was genuinely surprised to see us but that was probably because she was so high on pills she was focused only on functioning. It was bad! I have no idea how they allowed this girl to work a shift. We ended up leaving because she kept forgetting we were there. We won't be back read more

I am a taco lover and was super excited to hear about a taco restaurant opening on Brown St! I ordered the fish taco, texican taco and the queso dip. I was disappointed in the fish taco because there was barely any fish in it so I couldn't really taste much. There was also too much cabbage. The texican had great flavor and tons of meat and cheese! The queso dip isn't white queso which was what I was expecting, but still super flavorful! I couldn't stop eating it. They also have sauces to choose from to top your tacos with. The vibe is relaxed and casual. They have a cute bagr area. I'll have to go back when I can try the margaritas. But for about $3 a taco it's a great place to try! LAlso on weekend it's opne until 2:30am! read more

The best taco place in Dayton! They have great prices and wonderful drinks. The staff is absolutely incredible. Not a bad place to come and study it if you like good music and cheap drinks. 10 out of 10 recommend read more

Rusty Taco - two drinks on a table in front of a laptop - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

BREAKFAST TACOS!!! ALL DAY LONG!!! Oh yeah baby. Welcome to R Taco of Dayton. Awesome new "easy in - easy out" eatery on Brown Street, between UD and Oakwood. We went in early on a Saturday morning to try the breakfast menu (all tacos baby) and see what all the what-for was all about. We entered via Brown Street door, using on street parking (small rear and side parking lots). We walked in, passing the outdoir patio area, was greeted immediately with a wafting aroma of "bacon" ( can't go wrong with bacon ...ever). Nice open eating area, small bar area inside easy read menu. Belly up and make your order. read more

This place is so cute. The staff was really friendly and the tacos were great. I had the fried chicken taco, the fajita chicken taco and the texican taco. All were really good but my favorite was the fajita chicken taco, it had a little kick to it but not too much. And the bartender was cute :) didn't want to leave but I'll be back! read more

Rusty Taco - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Pretty good idea. I'm from Georgia and everytime we make it up here for some reason every ai glee time and it never fails... 1. Were always shorted 1-2 tacos. Yes today we were shorted the shrimp taco. 2. All the tacos we ordered were cold. Cold food and cold tortillas. Hey the queso was warm though. Dont get me wrong, it all tasted good, but I dont like to eat cold food. Out of a hit or miss I'm gonna say it's a miss for today. read more

Raw Score: 3.69 (Bonus points for the outdoor seating.) I sat outside at the bar, which has an outdoor portion. It was very ideal, I enjoyed an El Guapo (it was worth the bang for your buck) and watched the NFL Draft--which was easy to see with the huge TVs (important for games). Moreover, the waitress was top-notch. She made the experience. I had the bang-bang shrimp tacos and the traditional Tex-mex taco. The bang-bang shrimp was very good. The Tex Mex was just a normal taco (although I'm a tough judge because, as you can see, I am from TX). I will return, especially on nice days. read more

slay. i love this place. they ahave awesome yummy margs (if expensive) but still an awesome environment

Great tasting taco's! Cheap prices for the area. Good guacamole. Very helpful staff that helped me decide what to order and what tastes the best. read more

Love the breakfast tacos on flour tortillas. It's quick, inexpensive food, but don't expect gourmet tacos.

Service at the bar was amazing! Friendly and truthful bartender, 10/10 stars to the bartender!FYI everyone, the chicken breast fajita meat is not chicken breast as noted on the menu. It is chicken thighs! False advertisement! read more

Hate to give this place such a low mark. Really wanted to love this place. And we tried it twice. But on both occasions, I have found the tacos to be bland, dry, flavorless, uninspired. The guacamole is average to below average. And the queso is definitely subpar. Service both times however was very friendly and accommodating. I fear Torchy's Tacos (a small Austin TX based chain with several locations throughout TX and a few in Denver CO and Oklahoma City and one in Tulsa) has set the bar very high in terms of what s boutique taco restaurant can be. Torchy's has so many delicious inventive tacos (not all their tacos are great, some are misses. But the tacos Torchy's gets right they get right in a BIG way), and their guacamole is almost always PERFECT (as long as the Serrano peppers are not too hot), and their queso is complete and utter cheesy bliss. In my opinion, R Taco has a long long way too go in terms of improving their flavor and inventiveness. read more

I was actually surprised at this place. They don't have the best reviews and ratings (at least this location) but when you're craving tacos, you're craving tacos (amiright?) This place was pretty clean and had both indoor (ac) and outdoor (picnic table) seating which was great! I got both the fish and chicken tacos and they were good, but I have to say the fish one was better; next time I'll probably just order straight fish tacos. If you're looking for a cheap quick taco fix (nothing authentic but definitely not Taco Bell-gross) that's clean and has AC capabilities, R taco is a good bet. read more

Rusty Taco - Chicken, pork, beef and fish tacos. Loved the fish taco! - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

My new go-to when I can't decide what I want to eat. Delicious tacos that are also cheap! I've tried several and have yet to find one that I don't like. My favorites so far are the fried chicken and the Baja shrimp. Their queso dip is excellent as well! read more

The Brown St. location isn't even the best thing about this place: As good as it gets when it comes to service. Randy's a great bartender man, funniest conversations ever. Their drink selection is a simple yet all you really need in an energetic taco boutique. This place gets its high mark for the quality ingredients which are used in their inspiring, vibrant and extensive taco selection for reasonable prices. The #8, #9, and #11 tacos specifically (Baja shrimp, fried chicken, and crispy mahi-mahi) are tough to beat, sound guacamole and the unctuousness of the queso complements every bite. Great place, try it out if you're in the Dayton area. read more

My son & I thought we would try R Taco for Taco Tuesday & were very disappointed. While the atmosphere is lively, the food & drink leaves much to be desired. I'll start with my drink. I ordered a beer to drink while waiting for our food. My glass wasn't even full & was 1/4 foam on the top. I must have given the bartender a questioning look because he proceeded to say it was the end of the keg & he would bring me another beer. He never did. As for the food, the tortillas were room temperature at best & the toppings were disappointing. There is no lettuce, cheese or tomatoes on the tacos (all staples in my book). If you want salsa, you have a choice of three different types, but only if one is available. They're not located on each table, but rather on a common shelf for diners to grab. Well, how awkward is that to go ask another diner if you can have their salsa bottle? All in all, we were extremely underwhelmed & won't return. Bummer because we love tacos & eat them every week. read more

Staff was nice. Tacos were okay but not very flavorful. I got one breakfast vegetarian taco and then their two vegetarian tacos on the regular menu. Really basic foods read more

I'm a vegan from Southern California, so I take my veggie tacos very seriously. This place is legit. I had some black bean tacos w pumpkin seeds and they were delicious. Felt like there was a substantial amount of "fillings" for the price. Can't wait to go back. read more

Got misled by these fake reviews. Worst food ever had.. After waiting for a long time they served the cold uncooked food including rice and got the order incorrect too. Ended up eating just the salad and got food poison. None of the staffs knew what they were doing and worst service. First time, had the brisket tacos with avocado added on. Delightful! Can imagine it being a fun atmosphere during happy hour. I will come again next time I am in town. Staff was helpful and soo quick! read more

This is a great place for cheap margaritas and tacos. This has been discovered by the local UD kids. We came in and were greeted by extremely drunk college kids yelling "I'm ready to get f****d up!" I can't believe that this place tolerates this behavior. They were serving people that were on the way to alcohol poisoning (or already there). I would NOT recommend this place for children unless you want them to learn the dangers of college drinking. Did I mention we arrived at 5 PM? We do enjoy their tacos and the margaritas are very good. Just don't come at 5 on a Saturday. The peeps that work here are either saints or the devil. I can't decide which. read more

I really liked this place. I was going out with my girls, and obviously there was a lot of college students, but they still made our beverages and food quick. Everyone is friendly and quick to get to you, despite being busy. 10/10 service. We ordered margaritas and they were splendid! I highly recommend for a little night out in the area! read more

Great food. Fast Service. Excellent service. They have a great menu of tacos including breakfast tacos. The default wrap on regular tacos is a CORN tortilla. The default on a breakfast taco is FLOUR. You can switch out on either. They also have chips (corn) and salsa, queso and other options. They have a liquor permit serving beer, margaritas etc. We will be back!! read more

Rusty Taco on Brown implements the worst customer service skills. The employees must have not been educated on professionalism. After putting in an online order, arriving on time for pick up, and coming inside to retrieve the food, I was ignored by employees. Then, finally find out "they didn't receive an online order." I asked for a refund and walked out because they were so dismissive and unprofessional. read more

Reasonably priced tacos and pretty yummy!! I could have eaten about five of them! The margarita was delicious and only $5! Overall was impressed. Seating was limited (we went for dinner on a Saturday night). Some people stay just for drinks and were taking tables from those trying to eat. Overall, it was very good. I'd like to return to have a breakfast taco soon! read more

I ate here tonight for the first time and it was a very pleasant dining experience. My first impression was that the music was hip, but not too loud to have a conversation. The venue was clean and spacious. The bussers were spot on and I never saw a dirty table the entire time. It is a very uplifting place. The Host was Halli and was very personable and genuine. The cashier Allyson was accommodating and, as I do not like hot and spicy foods. She allowed me to sample a few of the toppings until I found one that was sweet and savory, yet not hot. Later on, the manager, Allison, stopped by and was interested in how everything was. I told her it was great, now I am telling you. Check it out. Larry read more

Definitely somewhere I like to go to! Only been here twice and have enjoyed myself both times! Tacos are good and the chips and queso are an absolute must! I have gotten both the strawberry and raspberry frozen margaritas and both were amazing! Didn't taste like pure tequila or juice, they had a well balanced blend. Ended up ordering a churro and was not left unsatisfied. It was good alone, but better with honey! Staff was friendly and funny. Overall the atmosphere was enjoyable not to loud, and they played great music! Will definitely be coming back! No pictures because everything was gone that quickly! read more

Our food was cold when we were finally notified that it was ready. Came to find out it was sitting on the counter for almost 20 mins without any notification. They didn't seem to care and said we must not have heard them call our names. Don't really seem to care about doing anything the right way! read more

I went to the Rusty's off of Miamisburg rececently and after waiting nearly twenty minutes for our food, I was informed, after asking twice, that they had to prepare the food. Like, what?????
