This place is really good, the tacos and nice size and fresh. Definitely has a large variety of taco styles with various meat choices. Great fast casual place to eat. Price point is reasonable for lunch. They have breakfast tacos that are served all day. They also carry a few local beers on tap. If you like a margarita you can get one here for $5. Went to this place during Black Friday and it was pretty good. We were pretty excited to try it since there are some good reviews. The place looks really nice on the inside but the tacos were quite expensive. We paid $20 along with a drink which is quite expensive for a quick lunch. The fried chicken taco was pretty good, it was hot but didn't have a lot of chicken. The queso was really good and they do give you extra chips if you don't have enough which is what filled us up in the end. I'm not sure if I would go back to this place for lunch. read more

Was getting my vehicle worked on down the street and was thinking lunch. I missed Taco Tuesday but today I was determined to have my tacos. The menu is huge with a great variety. I picked #7 Fried fish taco, #8 Fried shrimp taco a one Dynamite shrimp taco. Fresh ingredients and fantastic flavor. These tacos are killer. I would have ate half a dozen no lie. This place is really freakin good! I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, a good friend was coming to town, and we wanted a place where we could sit down and talk for a long time. We decided to try this place and I was very pleasantly surprised. First, breakfast tacos all day! I love breakfast, so this option is awesome. I ordered two tacos - one being the Texican, which consists of beef lettuce, tomato, and cheese, your standard taco. The taco was good, but the other was my fav. I don't recall the name, but it was the #15 and consisted of carne asade, red chile sauce, potato, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The tacos were filling and the meat and toppings spilled over. We decided to get an order of queso and chips, the chips were light, warm, and crispy. The queso had just the right about of spice for me. I will definitely be going back! read more

My favorite for street tacos. If you order over the phone they do not put in your order till you pay. So you still wait for half hour for a take out order. The food is fresh and prices are reasonable. Hand out with your friends and enjoy a beer and margaritas with your food. The staff is great. read more

My first time here! I love the theme of TACOS! Tacos are my favorite dish!! Definitely satisfied my family and I. Atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The cashier helped us make our decision since there was a wide variety of tacos to chose from. We ordered chips and queso, says enough for 2 but fed my family. The beer is served in a reusable cup, so we took that home. The tacos were delicious and yes they may be small, but I think this place would be considered a get together place where you could meet your friends at and just have conversations. The seating is open, with long tables. It should not be to awkward to sit next to someone you don't know. But that's just my opinion. My family and I will definitely be back to enjoy more of the other tacos on the menu. read more

There's no way this joint averages 4 stars. Or maybe we got there on a bad day. Between the two of us we had a pork bowl, chips, guac, and three tacos. The guac was brown, like packaged yesterday, fully oxidized brown. Pork bowl; meat was devoid of seasoning (not exaggerating) and dry as a bone. Rice was not lime and cilantro, it was plain, unsalted white rice. Limes in the bowl, brown and dry. Tacos, in this order, cold, dry, horrible. I think we got left overs, or apathy.. not sure which To always finish on a positive note, the tortilla were ok. read more

I wanted to love this place, and it may have been an off evening, but on cinco de mayo and taco Tuesday, the team should have been on their A-Game. Sadly, this was not to be. We got there and after driving halfway across town we still had to wait around 30 minutes. We ordered the Cinco de Mayo 10 pack with chips and queso, 2 orders of beans and a sopapilla. We ordered fish tacos, grilled shrimp tacos, brisket tacos, roast pork tacos, spicy fried chicken taco and rusty tacos.. all with no cilantro or with cilantro on the side. after waiting around 25 minutes we were called to the counter and told that the brisket was out. We opted for 2 more rusty tacos to replace the brisket tacos we ordered. Around 5 minutes later we were called up to collect our food. After quickly looking it over, I asked about some missing sopas. The girl went back and got a few and wrapped them up... I should have taken this as a sign as well as seeing others going back up to the counter with their orders in hand.. but my wife and I were hungry and the 2 bags we were handed were pretty full as it was.. When I got home we laid everything out. 7 tacos made it into the bag. We were missing a grilled fish and 2 rusty tacos. "Cilantro on the side" was ignored. "Add avocado" to the shrimp taco was ignored. Beans were very very good but had cilantro in it. My wife liked the roast pork taco the best and I enjoyed the rusty taco and the spicy fried chicken taco. Queso was good but the salsa wasn't anything to write home about, especially here in New Mexico.. The nearly forgotten sopapillas were not cooked through.. just white, slightly puffed with a thick layer of slightly raw dough in the center and very very little cinnamon/sugar on it. After sitting down and writing down everything that was wrong and realizing how much we were missing, I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to get tacos here again... we were missing around a third of our order which equated to around $10 of food. read more

Came here on a Monday evening around 7:30PM, place wasn't too packed but there were some people there. Door was open, and there was outdoor seating although it was too windy outside for that. I got #3 steak fajita, #7 grilled shrimp, and #8 grilled fish. It came out to be about $11, and we sat down to wait for food. My friend got his first, and I got up to tell the person making tacos my name (since it was asked for the order) and that I didn't want cilantro. The person looked at me very oddly, which made me feel very strange too. Not sure what was up with that. I don't know why, but I didn't hear my name called for my tacos and someone walked around to find me. I got the food and we got the three hot salsas out of the fridge: habanero, red salsa, green salsa. I had the shrimp one first, flavor was a bit weak but the sauces were tasty. I really enjoyed the steak fajita because it had tons of flavor, and the fish was also just okay, not much flavor. For more than $11, I expected to be full but I wasn't really; tacos were a bit small. read more

If you think Taco Bell is Mexican cuisine, then Rusty Taco serves tacos. Had a really unfortunate dinner with their name sake taco and the picadillo taco was like a reject lunch lady's attempt at slapping some ingredients inside a tortilla. There's other options that are decent but having those two as my first options kind of soiled the rest of the experience. It's a chain, it's American, it's basically fast food. Go there with your expectations appropriately set and you should be fine. read more

We were traveling through town and stopped to get some tacos. These were some of the best tacos we have had. We got the fried fish, the chicken fajita, and the green Chile chicken tacos! Excellent. The service was just as awesome! Very attentive and friendly. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away. They were quick with making our order and also gave us small cups of their awesome salsa. Every salsa was delicious. Highly recommend. read more

My wife and I chose to have lunch here the other day with my in laws. We got the Brisket Nachos to share, they were okay. The pico is fresh. Chips are store bought, brisket had good flavor but seems to be packaged and just warmed up. For them being Nachos it was very little cheese and the cheese was not melted at all. Think a place that has queso on their menu should probably use the queso for the nachos. We also got a carne Asada taco, a Baja shrimp taco and a roasted pork taco. We really enjoyed the Asada and Shrimp tacos, we thought the Asada had lots of flavor and the shrimp tacos had a tasty spicy Mayo type of sauce on it. The roasted pork taco was our least favorite item. Pork, same thing as the brisket, seemed to be packaged roasted pork , except it had no flavor and was extremely dry. Overall I'm giving the place 3 stars because of the friendly staff, and the Asada and shrimp tacos. I would advise to not spend money on the nachos and the pork taco. read more

Rusty Taco provided food and drinks for a 40-person event we had. Because it was a catering event, all the communication was with Robert and Donovan and was conducted over the phone. Both Robert and Donovan were amazing to work with. Robert took my order with precision and answered all my questions as we spoke. Donovan was always available through the process of ordering and confirming the order and the delivery. I had a lot of questions and was a bit nervous about everything coming together for this event. Robert and Donavan were incredibly reassuring and understood my need to "double-check". I'd never eaten at Rusty Taco before I placed this catering order. I was so very pleased with the food and with the large variety of options. It was hard to narrow it down! The food was delicious and was a big hit with the participants. Donovan made the delivery and and helped me get it all sorted out. There were tons of the little things I didn't think of ... napkins, plasticwear, utensils, cups, bowls/trays, all the fixin's for tea, etc... but it was all there and I didn't have to fret over anything. I absolutely recommend Rusty Taco. The food and the high level of customer service can't be beat. I'd give a higher rating if I could. It was my 1st visit to Rusty Taco. I did not know of it until I got their coupons in the mail. It's tucked away outside Coronado Mall in ABQ, NM, across from Barnes & Noble. Inside is surprisingly spacious and patrons were munching away. The young lady, cashier, who greeted me was very warm, friendly and inviting. She even showed me how to switch off the flashlight on my iphone. I was not pressing it the right way. LOL I had the TEXICAN taco, and free with my coupon - chips and queso. Both were very tasty! I was craving chips and queso! They do not serve hard shells for tacos, so I asked if my tortilla can get a bit crisp, and she requested it. I stopped by Rusty Taco recently, and the experience was honestly miserable. The AC was broken, and it was extremely hot inside -- uncomfortably so. I felt awful for the workers having to deal with that kind of heat while trying to do their jobs. It made it really hard to enjoy the food or even stick around. Management seriously needs to prioritize fixing the air conditioning -- for both the staff and the customers. Until then, I won't be back. read more

My husband and I intentionally waited a bit before going because we figured the initial rush would be overwhelming and we wanted to support them once things settled down. When we walked in, she greeted us right away, told us to sit anywhere we liked, and said she'd be by shortly to take our order. The restaurant has a bit of a hole-in-the-wall vibe, which I personally enjoy in a neighborhood taco spot. I have celiac disease, so eating out can be tricky. She was really helpful answering my questions about gluten and explaining what I should avoid. She let me know the fryer isn't dedicated. They fry their tortilla chips in it, but it's also used for chicken fingers and churros, so she recommended avoiding fried items if you're gluten free. She also mentioned the creamy chicken enchiladas and carne adovada contain gluten, but the chile itself is gluten free. I ordered the al pastor tacos with a horchata. The tacos come with pineapple and were served with both red and green salsa. The red one definitely had more heat. My plate came with four street-size tacos. They were good, but I wish they came with a little more filling on a couple of them. The horchata was huge and delicious, and she mentioned they make both the horchata and aguas frescas in house. The taco plate felt pretty in line with the value of other taco spots. My husband ordered a barbacoa burrito smothered in red chile, which is a $2 upcharge, and he added beans and rice on the side for another $2. The burrito itself was massive and he said it was good and a decent value. The beans and rice didn't make it onto the plate, but by the time our food came out, about 15 to 20 minutes after ordering, we were tight on time for our lunch break so he didn't mention it or ask for it to be fixed. They're open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., so it's a good option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If the chips were fried in a dedicated fryer, I'd absolutely come back for breakfast and order the chilaquiles. I love those. Overall it was a decent lunch and I appreciated how transparent she was about gluten questions. It's a good neighborhood option for anyone who lives or works in Uptown.

The person at the counted denied and told her that he couldn't but had bottle of water for sale. I had to order an extra cup for her water from the Pho place where I ordered my meal. The Food Hall is unkept and dirty. She went to the ladies restroom and no soap or paper towels. The parking lot is dark, we didn't feel safe. I understand that your guys lease there, but you as a paying business have a voice to the conditions of the complex. We will not go back.
