How did I celebrate my 60th birthday? I drove over 200 miles to have my birthday dinner with family at Rusty Bucket. The meal started off with our amazing waiter Jeremy who had our table of 7, another table of 10, and at least 3 other tables of 4 people each. The Brussel sprouts had a lemon aioli and parmesean cheese. Full of flavor and plenty to share! The pickles had a delicious breading an was accompanied with a cilantro ranch dipping sauce. Both were top notch! I also had a bowl of their French onion soup. I must admit, I am a French onion soup snob and without a doubt, this is the absolute best I have ever had. Every time that I walk into the Bucket, I already know that I am ordering their French onion soup. The only thing that would make it better would be a bread stick. For dinner, I had the Chicken blanket nachos. This is an appetizer designed to be shared and even an old fat guy like me could not finish them all. We came to this Rusty Bucket location while our cousins were in town and had thee best time! There were 9 of us and our server Jeremy took the greatest care of us! He memorized all of our orders once they were given , continuously kept the drinks flowing, and had the funniest backhanded comments/jokes! He definitely kept us laughing for sure! Came in at 7:30 for a lite dinner. Today's soup was Aztec Chowder: usually a favorite. Tonight it was lacking all of the stuff that makes it good. My husband made a good point this place is called rusty bucket for a reason because the food is just rusty. We ordered the El Cubano and Soy Salmon. #1 there should not be an upcharge for macaroni and cheese when it tastes like something that was just microwaved after waiting so long for it. #2 salmon should not have options for how to cook. We came on a Tuesday night around dinner time and it wasn't too busy. We were seated within 5 minutes and our waitress took care of us right away. We ordered the shrimp bucket and a Rueben with fries along with a beer. I'm obsessed with the peel and shrimp bucket and I get it every single time. It's about $12, but it comes with a lot of shrimp! The food was delicious however I ordered the Rubin and while the flavor was good the meat was cut incorrectly. Corned beef needs to be cut against the grain to be tender if you cut with the grain its tough. That was the problem with my sandwich. The whole slice of meat came out at once. read more

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is we did have a bit of a wait to be sat despite there not being a single other table. The taco salad was amazing! They really had a great balance of the dressing on the lettuce, the cheese, beef, beans, and sour cream. The jalapeños added a nice kick as well, though a will request extra pico de gallo next time just as a personal preference. Ordered the black bean burger ( which was larger than the wheat bun--- definitely a plus) with sweet potato fries. Inside has a rustic looking, dark wood decor with a large pub area. Several televisions mounted along the ceilings perimeter to catch a game or some news. The front portion of the restaurant opens up when the weather is nice outside. Their menu offers a variety of typical pub grub, (i.e. burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, entree's, deserts), along with a full bar with a variety of draft beers. For today's lunch I had their harvest salad. Quite good! The warm roasted chicken is served on the side of the salad (as opposed to being sliced and placed on top or in the salad). The salad itself is mixed with finely chopped kale, cranberries, quinoa, farro, peppers, yellow corn kernels, toasted almonds & pecans and a couple sliced grape tomatoes. Their sherry mustard vinaigrette compliments the flavors. I definitely would order this again! If you have a hearty appetite, I would suggest getting something more filling. Menu pricing was fairly reasonable. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Humorously, the staff kept changing the channel on the television I watched. A different person would walk by and change the channel from what the prior person had recently switched it. There wasn't much regard whether a patron was watching a channel. I'm glad I wasn't too into any particular channel. There was a greasy spot on the floor by the booth I sat in. I did bring it to the attention of our waiter who made his manager aware. Tried to eat here today, but...there were multiple booths and tables open but the host said it would be 10 minutes. He let us know that it would be 5 and then 2 minutes more. Then he said he could seat us but took the couple that just walked in and sat them. It was only us waiting until maybe a half a minute before he said he could seat us this couple walked in. A big part of the reason we go back is an employee named Jeremy... My coworker and I were thoroughly impressed with him as a server... And we are picky... He knows everybody and is very thoughtful and somehow can wait on multiple people well and nobody ever feels slighted... I am a local writer and he remembers every single time and it's very cool to have that connection, tavern feel with people...
