The key to enjoying The Dub Pub is setting expectations. This is not a full service restaurant, and once you go in knowing that, the experience makes more sense. The bartender was very responsive and friendly, which definitely helped. Service was solid throughout our visit. The menu is extremely limited. It leans into an Irish pub feel, but without a kitchen that really supports that theme. Food options are basically pizzas and sandwiches. I had the Italian sub, which they panini pressed, and it was actually quite good. Crispy, hot, and better than expected for a bar sandwich. Overall, it is a decent place to grab a drink and something simple to eat, but the limited menu and unrealized Irish pub vibe hold it back from being more than a three star spot. read more

The bartender working on Friday recommended a drink of which I thought wasn't great and asked for another one in its place. Her Brilliant idea was to charge me for the drink I didn't like. Instead of being a good sport and just making something else. Whoever trained her probably forgot Bar Ediquitte. Her idea twas to charge people for drinks they didn't like. Again probably not trained on how to be a proper bartender. Far be it for me to say she was acting like a snobby gal who needs fired. If a guest doesn't like a drink you remake it, not charge them not it, no matter how much your ego is hurt. Go and get a beer. I like to support small, local Mom.and Pop places. Don't expect much normal bar food and don't expect WINGS. Correct, it's been 2y of them telling me the fryer is broken. I have asked...I can help you find a new fryer and, WINGS can be very nicely done in an oven. I started going here when I moved to Dublin and Danielle was nothing but kind, friendly and inviting which made Dub Pub our regular spot whenever we wanted to get a drink or some quick food and around the holidays we hadn't been for awhile. We started coming back recently and often with more and more friends as I believed this was a fun spot and enjoyed the bar here. But every time I have been in recently the bar tenders are beyond drunk and can't comprehend your order or they are genuinely terrible at their jobs and will just hand you whatever they feel like making. I have been a bartender for 5 years and the one thing you need to know how to do is remember a drink or a food order you were JUST told and be kind to the patrons. On top of these bartenders having no knowledge of how to be behind a bar they are the rudest service industry people I've ever come across and will ignore new patrons/ woman and cater to men/regulars. I understand every bar needs its regulars but how do you expect to uphold a profitable and well regarded establishment when your bar back and bartenders are routinely treating new people like they are not important. I've always tipper well despite the awful service, because I understand people may have a bad day.... but EVERY time? They also have people who DO NOT work there behind the bar, taking drink orders, cleaning etc. WHILE they are hiding behind the pillar in the corner taking shots. For example one of the men who was "bar backing" told my friends and I he does not work there. Then later in the evening threatened me and called me racial slurs as well as the b word.. but I guess he can't be held accountable? All and all this establishment would be wonderful if they hired sound employees who have worked as bartenders before and were kind to new and old patrons. read more

We have lived around the corner from this place for a while (4 years). We have been probably a dozen times and it would have been more if not for having young kids. The food is excellent, the beers are cold, the atmosphere is positive, there are sports on all the time, and the service has been consistent. We get take out pizza and wings because it is better than the pizza places around the corner. The music is played a little too loud if you want a quiet meal or beverage but if you want to have a good time with good food and good drinks then this is a GREAT choice! read more

The absolute worst. Definitely not a pub, and didn't even feel like a bar. More like they opened a bar in a former middle school cafeteria. Horrible lighting. No service whatsoever. There's "food" technically, but nothing anyone would want to eat. Seemed like they could manage serving beer (if you could find a bartender), but I wouldn't order a cocktail. The Dub-Pub is first and foremost a sports pub with a predisposition for in-season Sunday NASCAR racing and a fine compliment of "talent-laden" bartenders and wait-staff. The long-necks are inexpensive when the checkered flag is dropped and with a CRENO's pizza.... what's not to like about it? Nuthin'. If you follow sports, Buckeye-dom exists here. And a strong following of golf fans during the Memorial Tournament rally at the Dub-Pub following tourney play to soak up some suds and swap badges for the upcoming rounds. Once again, it's all about sports and such. Previous reviewers are spot-on with regards to the clientele. It's always +90% blue-collar guys who oggle the staff and will oggle the nearest chica that saunters in. Testosterone is rampant so my personal advice (to women) - wear armor. My advice (to men) - come ready to watch sports and shoot the bull with your buddies. Pick-ups ain't happening unless you're willing to rock the night past 12 Midnight ... and that usually hurts on a school night for oldies like me. If you're a regular then you know Andrea, Megan, Monica, Jenn, Ciera, Alaura, Chelsea and Sharon - Sharon runs the place. Get to know them because when they know you... they LOVE YOU. Haha, the reviews on this place are hilarious. You don't have many options for a bar in Dublin on a Wednesday night, so the Dub Pub is where the "party" is at. The place was packed...mostly with drunk, belligerent men. The waitresses are well-endowed and decent looking in case you are a male reading this review. People, the drinks SUCK. I ordered a Skinny Captain and wondered where the freakin' pirate was. I didn't order a diet coke woman! Sheesh. We were sitting near a speaker and our ears were practically bleeding from listening to a yelling, idiotic DJ. Don't plan on having conversations here. The guys are usually watching some sports on TV or drooling over the subpar, scantily clad waitresses. As I walked out of the bar, I received high-fives from some drunkards yelling "OHHHH YEAHHH". Flattered? Yea, right. I think I was one of three women in the bar (the sad thing is, it was "ladies' night") and *surprise, surprise* the only Asian there. Maybe I looked like Lucy Liu to them. I'm conflicted on the star rating to give for numerous reasons. Namely, I was not offered a car as Peter suggested. Yeah, I got a few drinks, but none from the supposed 40+ crowd, but rather the drunken frat boys of today. This is a PRIME place for people-watching, perhaps my favorite in Columbus thus far. In one night.... I had some guy play the race card when I rebuffed his advances of "drive me to your house, let's have some fun", had to wait forever to use the restroom as one chick had taken over one stall to facilitate her apparent projectile vomiting, had a fat girl say she could "make me pretty" and then want a ride home, called some Englishmen dirty Europeans (oops? It was a joke they did not find funny), and heard one of the bartenders go off on some nerd who was obsessed with her. Oh, and some dude thought he could impress me by talking about how country he was and about all the cool games his mom has in her basement? Haha. Oh, they have free wifi too, but it didn't work for me. 2-stars for service, 3-stars for beer prices, & 18-stars for people-watching hilarity. read more

Its a sports bar, and I guess I was hoping for more. The beer is expensive unless you go for happy, hour and there is little in the choice for food. Sure the bartenders and wait staff wear skimpy outfits if that is your thing, but the bar seems to be filled with regulars, that its not really the place you can just come in off the street. Its not hard to provide good service, nor quality food. Being attractive isn't a substitute for it. There are lots of other places in the area to get a drink, and watch games. In all of my life, the Dub Pub is the only place that I've ever walked into the men's room and saw the feet of one person standing below the stall with another person on their knees facing the standing person in the stall. I can only hope that it was a man and a woman but I am unsure to this day. For some reason this place is always packed and it's hard to get a drink or service. I hear they have food but I've never tried it. Parking can come at a premium too and I've heard from others that they tow if you park where you're not supposed to park. read more

Poor Dub Pub. I like to believe that each bar in Dublin has it's place. Unfortunately, I can't disagree with any of the reviews here. The place IS full of belligerent drunk men. They DO tend to be a bit light on the liquor. The girls ARE 'well equipped', and will completely ignore you unless you're a regular or their friend... even then, if you go in here at night, it's hard to get drinks & food. To me, the best time to visit Dub Pub is ~2-3pm on an early work day for a drink or two before moving on to your true happy-hour destination. If you can catch this place when it isn't crawling with 'Sylvester Stallone' wanna-be's, you'll be much happy. Avoid it like the plague anytime after ~7-8pm. read more

First off, all reviews before this one are wrong and written by people that need to have X,Y,and Z happen to have fun. You know the kind, the kind that find five dollars on the ground and say "Well it's not a ten" or are rude to guys just because they think that is how social interaction works, playing games and being uptight. I will agree with the fact that there are some turds in there but let's face it, any bar will have that if that's what your looking for, not judging but it is what it is. So my point is if you wanna drink and check out the bartenders while getting some good service head over here to get things done. Wow, where to begin? After reading the previous reviews here, to say I came in with low expectations would be generous. Since my work requires travel, I often rely on Yelp and the likes to find local "hot-spots." The Dub-Pub was recommended by a friend and after reading reviews, I wanted to check it out not because I wanted to go to a nice place, but rather to see what a bar shouldn't be. I wasn't disappointed. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to hear some nicely mixed pop playing from the jukebox. On the other hand, the crowd could have been used in a MTV True-Life: I'm having my 32nd Mid Life Crisis. Finally, the bartenders were good looking, but they were nothing extraordinary. Then the DJ started. I named him DJ Wedding Singer. From the cell phone in the belt holster to the neatly tucked in Nike golf shirt, this guy was in his element... unfortunately, for the bar though, that element belonged somewhere between Sesame Street and some acid-induced 70's haze. Finally, I will end this review by saying, please bartenders, when you pour a drink, add alcohol! Last I heard a Red Bull and Vodka has vodka in it. I don't mind a strip mall bar now and again, but Dub Pub is nothing special. Maybe it's because I was craving a patio on a gorgeous evening, but everything about Dub Pub made me ready to call it a night. We chose Dub Pub to end our evening purely based on location. The waitresses are indeed busty, but I wouldn't call them attractive. I'm pretty sure ours had a large boil in the center of her chest. They look like the girls who are in those naked "find the differences" bar games, plus 20 years and as many pounds. But, they were nice (even if I'm not). I wish I would have been able to see some of the people watching and hilarity others have mentioned. That would have been pretty fun. Instead, there were obnoxious flashing lights on an empty dance floor, mildly amusing mixed music videos. I mean, they had beer there. And tables. I guess that's all we were looking for. Wow. When I went to write a review for my poor experience tonight I noticed that they are already ONLY a 2 star! I should've read the reviews before I ever went. This is the second time I have been there. This time they were out of beers that they had advertised on the board... and when I ordered a shot of American Honey (which is why I go there any way) they were out. I tried to tell BOTH girls behind the bar that this was the only reason that I go there and BOTH of there replies were essentially..."oh well!". I was appalled at the lack of customer experience that these two have. If it wasn't for the "decent" pizza I would've given them a ")" rating!!!! A night at Dub Pub will without a doubt leave you scratching your head in regards to what just happened. Never in my life have I been so shocked and confused by the behavior of the adult population of Columbus. To get a better grasp of the direction that this meta-review is going in, I recommend going to Dub Pub's website before reading any further and clicking on the tab in the middle-left of the page that says "Girls". Got it? Good. With this in mind, I can't think of a single reason why Dub Pub exists other than that it's the perfect place for the same middle-management suburbanites that eat at Tucci's to go and oggle the bar staff and pretend that they're 20 years old and in Sigma Chi again. Rumor has it that college-aged girls congregate here to prey on men in the midst of their respective midlife crises by seducing them in hopes that they can blackmail a Jetta out of them the next morning as a form of hush money. I am not making this up. Draw whatever conclusions you may from this, hopefully one of them being that this is one of the weirdest bars you'll ever set foot in. Social strife aside, it's a pretty cool place to get your drink on, but unless you feel like having a bevy of people in their 40's chatting you up in an attempt to vicariously relive their better days through whatever stories about life as a 20-something you tell them, Dub Pub is best avoided. read more

This bar was pretty lame....The only time any one goes is for Happy Hour for the cheap beer. The crowd was kinda strange, a weird mix of people. Mostly creepy looking middle aged guys that are still trying to act young or check out the busty bartenders. The music was so loud that you could barely hear anything. Parking is horrible ( it is crammed into a small strip mall). I just did not get a very good feeling hanging out here. Stopped in there yesterday to celebrate a friend's birthday. The drinks were OK - it's pretty hard to screw up draft beer. The service was barely acceptable. The girls are cute, but being a good server and/or bartender requires a bit more than that. A couple of us took our chances on the food (the menu has a horrible layout, and apologies taped to it, saying that they're working on it . . . ), and I ordered the burger, which was priced at $9. I ordered mine with lettuce and tomato, and no onion. It came out with one tiny piece of the end of the tomato (basically, tomato skin), some wilted, bitter strips of iceberg, and loaded with chapped onion. The patty was nothing more than a cheap, generic frozen beef product patty, that tasted awful. One person in our party tried to order hers medium. She was told, "They'll all come out medium well. We just stick it in the over for ten minutes". Well, isn't that special? Don't get me wrong - I love cheap, simple bar food. But stop serving this crap, Dub Pub! read more

My boyfriend and I like Bonefish, which is in the same strip mall, so we decided to stop into Dub Pub one night after dinner... it was a weekday but we decided to just have a drink and check out the place. First of all....the patio is the sidewalk to the strip mall, with a roof over it. Not exactly a nice patio. Secondly the bar is dark and pretty much a typical sports bar with nothing impressive inside. Skimpily dressed bartenders barely doing their job managed to finally take our drink order. Which was a jack and coke for my bf, and I requested a three olives berry vodka and sprite (they have a three olives drink dispenser). I was told they are out of that flavor... WTF? You have a special machine set up to dispense the vodka and you're out of it? Okay so I went with a different flavor. It was pretty much the weakest drink ever! We hung out for a few and decided to people watch and listen to the music. The people there all seem to be regulars and men. There were maybe 2 other women in the whole bar. As for the music, there was no DJ but from the other reviews I am not sure it would have helped much. We thought maybe since it was a week night that a Friday night would be better.... we went to dinner at bonefish last Friday and stopped by Dub Pub again. We walked in and right back out. The new manager or as he calls himself "Owner" is the exemplary "what to not to be to customers as a manager"! Owner or not he lacks the very basic managerial skills, and thinks its OK to treat paying customer like crap! If you have a strict preference of the type of music that people listen to at your Bar/Pub or for the sake of being honest the dirty DUMP that you run... Don't have a Jukebox! The place has a lot of improvement to do but the first is they need to get a decent manager. Mixed drinks are very weak and shots are over priced for this sort of place.
