I'm not a big foo foo food person but these place has a decent pizza and Burger. I would have gave it 5 stars but the pizza pushed the foo foo line by going overboard with lettuce and the garlic aioli drizzle on top. The fries were excellent with the burger. read more

When dining in a small town, one tends to temper expectations... not being a snob here, I've always lived in small towns, so I know them and their typical dining quality. That said, the experience here far exceeded. The food, drink, service, and atmosphere were all first rate. They are without peer in the community. A new spot in downtown Lufkin and its GREAT!! I cant imagine how much work they put into remodeling the interior of this old building, but its got some awesome internal design. I've been to many breweries, all over the country. This place has not only amazing beer - great, original recipes - but food worth the drive. We live an hour away and will be back, again and again. We had the shrimp appetizer and steaks (filet special and the steak frites). Everything was perfect - even the green bean sides and the bearnaise sauce in the filet. I lost track of the exact beers we had, but the Kumo... stout was great (husband liked it and he doesn't like beer) and the Gator Drool was a wonderful brown ale. The staff was great, the food amazing, and the beer fantastic. We met some other nice people there who also gave us recommendations for other places in Lufkin, that we also tried out and loved. Ignorance is not an excuse! Especially from leadership (Beau) at this establishment, further education is required on the law and ADA.gov. Extremely disappointing to be turned away from dining indoors (by both Bartenders and the manager on site Beau). Beau Proclaimed "the local health dept does not allow us to have service animals indoors because of their open kitchen"; that is absurd, untrue, and illegal. Service animals can NOT be turned away by law. Let it be known to veterans or anyone with service animals; you are not welcome here. read more

Traveling thru and googled best place for pizza. This place was recommended. It was 9pm when we arrived. Super excited the place looked awesome. We walked in - was told kitchen closed at 9. Hours are until 11. I would have seated us since we were there at 9 maybe even a few minutes before. I can't say if it was good or not. I do know maybe change up your post to state kitchen closes at 9 even on a Friday read more

The staff is very friendly, and they offer a great selection and beer flights. I got a bulgogi pizza that didn't taste anything like bulgogi though, and one of our plates had a completely white piece of fat on it instead of a piece of bacon, so that was odd. I'd definitely go back and try some of the other menu items though. It's a charming pub. read more

Not even sure about the food yet because it's taken 40 min to even get our pizza. Eggs are bland. Beer good. But service staff is nice but dang the kitchen is slow. Not sure we will ever come back. Never mind we were told 15-20 more min so we walked out. Don't go here. read more

Came to Lufkin for the afternoon and had an awesome experience. Service by Chandler was amazing and all our menu questions got answered right away. We have been waiting for the Rusty Ax Brewing Company to open. Wow, worth the wait. We tried a few times to visit but always hit it at the wrong time. Now that are a bit established and hours are more certain, we decided to give it a try. Very well worth the wait. Atmosphere was very well done. The restaurant was pleasing to the eye, music was to our liking. Our waitress was Kathy. Since this was our first time, she gave us plenty of time to order and even made suggestions that were totally right on. I had the mushroom pizza (one of the best pizzas that I have ever tasted), my wife had the Waygu Burger, and my mother in law had the campfire salmon. All our meals were top of the line. We topped our meals off with bread pudding which was also very good. Overall, Lufkin has been needing a restaurant like this. Kathy also made these visit a very memorable one and we will certainly return. read more
