I wish they would post their hats and prices on their site because you have to pay $75 just to make an appointment and it's non-refundable. They only have two options of for the $195 hats, beige and slightly darker beige. 90% of their hats are $475. Had a great time at Rustler Hat Co. This was on my "Nashville Wish List" and I finally got to make my hat when I visited a few weeks ago with my husband. The store is adorable inside and everyone was very friendly. Cara helped me create my hat and she was awesome! She was kind, professional, patient and helped me with ideas because I am so indecisive! I made a reservation for my husband because the site specifically stated it had straw hats. I paid the $75 non-refundable fee for a seat at the bar. When we arrived, the bar was full, I heard the male employee apologize to a woman for her experience and how long it took. He then said to us pick a color and let me know when you're ready. The colors were up high on a wall. Nobody asked if we needed help. We were so confused because we expected at least a little customer service. I then asked him if they have any straw hats only to be told no, we ran out of those. It was chaotic and people looked like they had been waiting hours for their hat in a tiny space. The photos are deceiving, this place is small and customer service is non-existent. I said we were looking for a straw hat and said we didn't like any of the colors and he said sorry, since you are cancelling same day there are no refunds. Really??!! They did not have any straw hats. They were packed and they were accepting walk ins. So what is the purpose of a reservation?? I highly recommend NOT paying for a reservation and if you want crappy service molding a hat and sticking feathers and lace on it, just show up. It is definitely NOT a place for men and don't waste your $75 if you decide to walk out like we did. We ended up at Ariat downtown and had the best experience and customer service there. read more

I will start off by saying that these are way over priced but so adorable, and my daughter got the cutest custom hat. You are definitely paying for the great customer service, experience and customization of a personalized item that you will cherish for a long time if you do it right! The hats are starting at $195 going up to $495 plus you have to pay for everything you add onto them. We got the cheapest one and still walked out spending over $400. it was totally worth it for her. Would've liked to of gotten one for myself, but I couldn't justify the expense. I would say, if you can splurge, definitely do it!!!! read more

I was in town for the CMA Awards and was recommended this place by a local I was working with. I came in on a Saturday around 1pm and the store was already crowded. A greeter added me to the waitlist so my fiancè and I went to pass time at an ice cream shop near by. I came back about an hour later and was told there were about 5 more people in front of me. About 20 minutes later, the greeter checked back in on me and told me it was my turn! The stylist approached me and gave me the rundown of the process. There are different price options and I opted for what they call the "starter hat" the others go up in price so I thought this would be the best first hat to go with. I picked the hat I wanted then she proceeded to fit me for my size. She told me that there was a short wait for a spot and offered me a drink which added to the cool experience! I browsed around for some accessories then sat down when a spot opened up. I told her what accessories I wanted and tried them on till I found which ones I liked. She then burned the letters and characters I wanted which was really cool to see. We finished with bending my hat the way I wanted and finished up. Overall, the staff here is amazing and gave me an amazing custom hat making experience. I would recommend making an appointment on their website before hand if you don't want to wait 1-2 hours but it's awesome that they accept walk-ins especially since I was leaving back home that afternoon. My husband set up a reservation online for us to go into the store and do a custom hat making experience. They have you pre-pay for your slot, which then they will deduct off of your hat when you pay in store. When we arrived, we were greeted, and we each had an employee work with us to help us build and design the hat that we wanted. They offered us drinks while we were designing and picking out our custom hats. I would say this is a little on the expensive side, depending on what type of hat you get, and what customization you do to your hat. The nice thing is that your hat is custom in unique to you, so there will be no one else with a hat quite like yours. The only negative about the experience was that the store was pretty busy so I felt a little rushed in my experience. They also forgot to takeoff our prepaid deposit from our bill so we had to call back in and get that removed. It would be nice to have a separate area for those who are walking in and those who actually have a appointment times read more

If you are looking for a rushed, impersonal, expensive fill you in the shop like cattle type experience then here's your place. Walked in w/ a party of 4, appointments are recommended but walk-ins are accepted. I do appreciate that accommodation. However the hostess checking us in seemed annoyed with us that we were even there. Quoted a time ~a member of our party had a couple of questions prior to committing to purchase of a hat~ and the hostess had a little attitude answering the questions & that member ended up choosing not to move forward w/ purchasing a hat due to that initial customer service interaction. I also had questions to the hostess re: the trucker hats (which I already knew where not provided inside the store but rather at another location via the TH Truck) on Rustler website it state look on social media for location. ~The IG DOES NOT LIST ADDRESS~ My question was for the address / location because I was looking to purchase a TH. Hostess tried explaining the truck isn't there -yes I already know just want the address- all she said was "about 2 miles down the road" umm okay thank you? Guess you don't want to sell stuff We did have someone in our party get fitted for the beaver blend hat which is in the $500 range. The rep who helped us was fine. She wasn't overly helpful nor super unhelpful either so just fine. Our person was fitted, the hat was stretched to have a better fit & was shaped - ok cool. Our person in our party had to ask for a beverage which the website listed it is offered w/ the experience ok whatever ehh no big. There was a single leather band accent chosen & the hat was branded. It is just under $600 when we were ready to leave the rep just hands the hat back over & is like ok bye ?? I was confused why it's not getting put inside a hat box & asked for one. THEY DON'T PROVIDE ONE you have to BUY one for an extra fee. That shocked me, I've spent less $$ at a high end store and was provided a box to care for my item/s of purchase. I would consider this a high end hat store & was a little baffled by that tidbit All in all if there are other "custom" hat stores in the area try those first before heading here. The 2 stars were for the walk-in accommodation & the bevy & fittting /shaping. I would not recommend for the experience & customer service nor price point for what you get out of it unfortunately. P.s. I also asked our rep who helped w/ the fitting re: the TH truck location & she also was like "down the road" I had to ask her a couple of times for a precise address. Apparently they will not give one out because it's a "pop up" truck but it has to be parked somewhere tho no?? read more

I have been to hat bars near my house, but stumbled upon this one while on a girls' trip to Nashville and was so impressed that I had to go back for a second one before we left. The pricier hats are definitely a splurge, but well worth it. They fit like a glove and are so comfortable! Love. Lainey and Trey helped my friend and I on our second round. Both were incredibly helpful and patient. Trey also made some great suggestions on the hat shape and took the time to make sure the fit was perfect. My daughter and I were very excited to come here and make hats to commemorate our Nashville vacation. I called twice today asking if I needed an appointment for two people and both times a few hours apart I was told that I would have no problems with a walk in and no appointment was necessary. We arrived and were told there would be a wait, which was fine. But then people with appointments kept bumping us down the list. I would have made one and avoided an hour plus wait. The stylist who helped us was not very helpful at all as far as design and trims. He also didn't ever introduce himself or ask our names. No suggestions were made at all as far as coordinating and combining trims. He basically just asked us what we wanted. Their ribbons and embellishments are randomly on counters and not organized in any way. He asked if we wanted a brand but they were not displayed anywhere. I asked what they had and he said letters, numbers and a bunch of symbols. Ok..... I knew how much the hats were before going and expected a MUCH better experience for the price. It's crazy overpriced but the experience is what we were paying for. Our hats are super cute and one of a kind, but it really wasn't anywhere close to my expectation. Really disappointing. read more

Treated poorly by the "new" manager. The employees were exceptional and worked really hard on a design for one of our hats. However the manager interrupted and absolutely ruined our entire experience which was my daughter's 21st birthday celebration. She proceeded to berate me and insult me without a second thought nor understanding what the situation was. I am not a Karen as they say but she sure was. Three of the employees apologized for the managers behavior and they were completely embarrassed by her. Perhaps you should provide your employees with supplies which do not "ruin" the hats as they sketch freehand requests??? Not their fault nor the fault of the customer! Perhaps you should not offer to brand any freehand designs on the hats until you solve that issue. We paid almost $600 for 2 hats and for the experience which your manager destroyed. The rest of our group intended to book as well but not after what they witnessed. Let me be clear, the staff was amazing! The manager, well... I'll leave it at that. I found this place while in Nashville during the CMA festivities. It was too busy for my taste. Luckily I called ahead and they helped me fairly quickly. I feel the place is heavily catered to women. Many of the hats are very decorative with banding, feathers, burn marks, and branding. I was looking for a more authentic, gritty place. I was hoping to find the kind of hat makers that have been in the trace for 30+ years. The young, almost all-female staff is very friendly and helpful, but it had a very touristy feel to me. I did end up buying a hat. If you get one of the nicer ones with lots of add-ons, be prepared to spend over $600. read more

Came here during CMA Fest 2023 as a walk-in not expecting them to have room or time for me with how busy it was. Thankfully they had two no shows and I was able to get a spot. I had wanted to do this since 8 months before when our concert tickets and flights were originally booked so this was an exciting day for me. I was paired up with Ca'Layci (introduced as Lay) who helped me design my hat. She was attentive and kind, while providing ideas and helping guide my choices. She was never overly pushy and let me decide what was best for me while still offering cute and creative ideas. Through the process we chatted about work and life as I watched her bring my ideas to fruition for my hat. She was extremely pleasant and funny and having her help me added to the experience of designing my very own hat. I'm from California and not sure when I will make it back but when I do I will be sure to request her!! Thank you Ca'Layci!! PS- came back to help my cousin design her own the next day and the experience was not the same without Ca'Layci around to help. She is a gem and I'm so glad I ended up with her. read more
