If you're camping in Kettle Moraine, Rustix is a solid option for a hot meal. When you walk in, you see the packed bar to your left and video slots to your right. Keep walking and you'll see a nicer seating area where families drop in. I ordered the cowboy burger and inhaled it. Really delicious and juicy. The french fries look like the love child of curly fries and steak fries. I loved 'em. The kids meal was very generous with a huge helping of their awesome fries. My 6-year-old was freaked out that the hot dog bun was more of a sandwich roll, but I told him "that's how they do it in Wisconsin." After a few skeptical nibbles, he was on board. I enjoyed the cheese curd cubes, but $10 is insane for 12 1-inch cubes. Save your money. The servers were generally terse and businesslike. You don't always have high hopes for food in a town of 2,000 people, but Rustix was a treat. I'd return if I'm visiting. read more

Went on a Friday before the rush of people. The place not bad looking for a bar/restaurant. The music was a little loud but not too bad. Not too busy at 5pm on a Friday. Sat down and waited for someone to come over to take our order. No one came. Went up to the bar which had 3 people working behind who where just standing around doing nothing but talking to ask about ordering. They said someone would be over. Waited for alnost 10 minutes before I got up to go sit at another table hoping someone would see me. FINALLY, someone saw me an came over to take our order. He was nice. We had a fish fry, a shrimp fry, and a grilled chicken sandwich. The fish and shrimp fry were nothing special. The salad was okay. The clam chowder soup had no flavor. The "grilled" chicken sandwich was more of a boiled chicken and tasted like it. The fries are pretty good. Over all... Service a 2/10 Food: 4/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Parking: 1/10 Would I go back? We heard about Rustix a few months ago and finally made it to a Friday fish fry. It did not disappoint. Cod was a quality fish I've had fresh fish and if this was frozen I couldn't tell. Fish breading was perfect. Fries amazing. Tartar sauce recipe is unique as other Yelp reviews indicate. Place is small and ambiance is a bit loud but it still seemed family friendly I will be back and spreading the word about a great experience. I was off on a Monday, so I thought I'd try a local business. My luck, they had two dollars off all Burgers. I was in the mood for some blue cheese so I got a black and blue burger, along with their little ditties they call twister fries. The burger was nice and fresh, cooked to a medium, and it came on a nice brioche bun. The blue cheese had an awesome twang, along with the blackened burger seasoning. The fries were super hot and crispy and had a good potato flavor. I also added some grilled onions, because I was in the mood for something oniony as well. Had a wonderful visit to Rustix yesterday with Dale behind the bar. He was incredibly friendly--asking everyone their name and actually remembering them. He even introduced us to the couple sitting next to us, which made the whole experience feel welcoming and fun. At one point, while we were deep in conversation, he somehow noticed that a woman several seats down needed a napkin--like he has eyes in the back of his head. Period. Comes with a creamy ranch for dipping! I usually don't go for flavored fries and bf goes potato pancakes (Rustix' PP's are ok) ...yet, we both agree these fries are a must do. Only meh on the Soups...bf had clam chowder..me Baked French Onion. Good, not great...I'll roll up a salad with that tasty ranch next go! Nice that you get soup/salad with fish fry, btw!! That isn't always a given on Friday Fish Fry establishments. Lil Ramekin time ... I went on a Monday afternoon after a backpacking trip as a treat to myself. The bar was very clean and customer service very polite. The decor is a mix of roughshod country and contemporary. The menu is very eclectic and the beer selection is broad. Ownership is the same despite the new name and new look, and so I knew to expect still good service and food. I had an appetizer of candied, spiced bacon and it was excellent. A teeny bit greasy , but that was okay. Upon recommendation of the server, I went with the BBQ brisket sandwich. It was piled high and filling and you can tell the meat was fresh. I sent the sauce may have had a little bit of MSG , but it is what it is and it just helps to anticipate that when you're allergic to MSG. The french fries were excellent. read more

The onion rings were good even after they went a little soggy (all fault of my own lol) a little pricey but that's the new norm now so it's whatever. It's a small bar in downtown Eagle, Wisconsin. When the music's playing through the speaker system, it's very loud otherwise it is very pleasant inside the bar. There Is outdoor seating. However, summative tables are in direct sunlight, so it can be very miserably hot. Service was outstanding, and the food is amazing. I had to pulled pork barbecue sandwich that had of meat and was on a huge bun. Very fresh! It came with fries that were totally amazing and none like I've had before.even their macaroni and cheese is homemade! Rustic is a great restaurant and bar! The workers are very kind, and their food.... Oh my lord! So good!!! Me and my family walked inside yesterday and the bar was full! It was obviously popular! You find your own seat and the place is small so she saw us. We sat down and less that 2 minutes later she was asking us what we wanted to drink if we were ready. She was so kind. The kids meals have original options but better than from a box. They are only $5! I would highly recommend the 3 cheese Mac and Cheese! It was SOOOO good and delicious.
