This place has really has it all. The breakfast here is amazing and beautiful. They make their own bread. The eggs are cooked so well. I usually hate the taste of eggs but they are cooked in a way that I love! Also the whole design of the restaurant is really modern and it has some of the most beautiful paintings on the walls. The only downside that I can think of is how expensive the food is. I definitely suggest you visit this wonderful place. read more

One of our all time favorite dining experiences! Ashley manages the front of the house and has developed a small but carefully selected wine list. She also creates unique and imaginative cocktails. Best Eggs Benedict's on the entire east coast can be enjoyed here. We highly recommend brunch and have enjoyed many dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings at RR. We have hosted special guests for a private dinner party at RR which was amazing! Our guests still talk about this dinner party from three years ago! This was an amazing farm to table eatery in Shelburne, it was so good my friend and I can back while vacationing in Burlington! The waitress remembered us and offered maple syrup for my iced coffee! The rustic breakfast was good, all of their meats have incredible flavor and their breakfast potatoes are perfectly crispy. This is a wonderful little Vermont restaurant! Unassuming on the outside, yet it has a charming Vermont feel on this inside. The server was very kind and accommodating to my dietary restrictions, which unfortunately is not often the case for me. Generally our server will give me a look that lets me know I am an annoying inconvenience to them. However, our server at Rustic Roots seemed to genuinely care about giving us great service and making sure that my meal was prepared correctly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.... Rustic Roots is definitely going to be our new go to for a delicious breakfast/lunch experience. As good as it gets is spot on for this place. Crushed to say I haven't gotten to stop in recently but chose this spot for a HW assignment I had and when I saw they only had 120 views I knew I needed to drop in. From the eggs benedict to the goat cheese and walnut crepes you can literally not go wrong at Rustic Roots! Went here after watching the food critic on the local news singing it's praises. We live about 45 minutes away and it was worth every minute of travel. I had the salted caramel French toast and it was absolutely incredible. My daughter had their signature breakfast with bacon and home fries as well as a homemade popover with herbed butter. Everything is local and fresh which is reflected in the full flavors of everything we ate. The restaurant was busy so we squeezed onto the counter. The servers were all super friendly and attentive. My husband and I stopped in here in between client meetings. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, because the menu was on the short side, but I honestly can't recall the last time I had such a fantastic lunch! This was probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! I ordered the Breakfast in Jersey and I've never had anything like it. Every part of the sandwich was phenomenal: the Shelburne farms cheddar, toasted Kaiser roll, and burlap bacon... Omg! And the decor! The interior of the restaurant is small, cozy, and beautiful. The front of house service was fantastic. There was only one young woman working in the front, seating guests, taking orders, bringing food, and busing the tables, but she was wonderful. Where to begin with this beautiful and quaint eatery? Let's start with the wonderful people that own and operate Rustic Roots. From the second we walked in, to the second we left, we felt completely welcome. Now - for the food. We were lucky enough to experience their "after hours" (they normally do breakfast and lunch until 3pm) small plate fare which they only do on weekends in the evening. We started with a simple yet tasty olive and roasted almond plate. The olives were fresh and delicious, as were the almonds and the small frisée salad on top (with a very tasty dressing). We followed that up with some local cheeses and some crostini - amazing. Then came the chicken confit - incredible. Best breakfast ever! The flavors in the omelette were delightful. Asparagus , ricotta, peas, and the truffle oil just made them all pop. The home fries had a great flavor (you could see the fresh herbs) but the best was the great crispiness. The popover was good but the homemade orange marmalade was simply the most wonderful bite. This is s tiny place and they take reservations for 4 or more so we did have to wait but it was so worth it. read more

I've been to Rustic Roots about 10 times now and had a fantastic meal every time. I've been with a girlfriend, my boyfriend, by myself and took a 90 year old woman with me once. Ashley is a welcoming and friendly host and her partner Mike (I've never seen him) is busy in the kitchen making creative and tasty meals in the kitchen. The wait staff is always ready to serve me water and coffee. Every bite of the Lox Scramble was delicious from the Lox to the goat cheese and the perfect amount of fresh dill to excite the senses. The pop-overs are a great treat with the herb butter. Rustic Roots is a restaurant I'm proud to have in my community! You must try it!! read more

If you have a chance, try the house-made marmalade, it's amazing and I wish they sold jars of it at their tent at the shelburne saturday farmers market! Their breakfast potatoes are awesome (but be warned - they have bacon in them, which I don't think is mentioned on the menu, so in case you're vegetarian or kosher be careful). The popovers are light and airy, the butter is herbed (wow!), the bread is fresh and homemade, the meat components are very unique, and the crepes are amazing too. We went in here for a late lunch about 20 minutes before they were closing. They didn't say anything about it almost being closing time and were super friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast wrap - the buckwheat in the wrap offered a really interesting flavor. My husband devoured his crepe and sausage. The drinks we ordered - a mango fizz I think and a strawberry infused tea - were good but not amazing. I wouldn't opt for that again.
