It has definite potential! Came here with my husband and kids and ordered a few slices of pizza and the chili cheese fries. I'm sure the pizza is great when it's fresh out of the oven, but they reheat it when you order it so it's kind of dry and crispy instead of chewy. The chili cheese fries were okay. The chili was a little watery and needed salt, but had a great spice to it! I'm sure once they've been open a little longer they'll improve on a few of these things. The pizza is delicious! However, customer service was appallingly bad. There was a young kid- maybe 13 or 14 running the register and struggling. After waiting 20 mins with one couple in front of us in line, we ordered our slices. The kid then went to dish the slices into a box and touched them without gloves. I made a comment that I did not want those slices- and to please put gloves on. A woman came up and tried to brush it off saying she's told him to wear gloves after cash handling 3 times today and dished up our pizza. NOT OKAY- especially after waiting for so long on top of it. Great new place for a bite to eat downtown. I had the apple and Brie sandwich and my husband had a burger. Both were delicious! We also split an order of chicken wings which were the perfect amount of spice for us! Will definitely be back, looking forward to their menu expanding! read more

Perfect place for a great breakfast and drink! We stopped our first morning in CDA and found this gem - the menu appealed to us. Simple, classic breakfasts and a free drink. Both ordered the 3 egg scramble and got to choose our own mix ins - peppers, onions, jalapeños, artichokes, olives, cheese and more! Came with bacon and potatoes plus our drink of choice. We got a Bloody Mary and a mimosa. Mimosa was frozen strawberry and it was delicious. Bloody Mary was too! We sat outside in the beautiful weather and people watched. Staff was friendly and helpful. I believe the quality of the food has gone down. I have been to here a year ago and the portions were bigger as well as the quality was better. Today we ordered the Brie and apple panini; the Brie was not melted and we got 5 chips. We also ordered the $8 fried zucchini and we got 8 zucchini's, we were dissatisfied. read more

Ah the potential of this place is great but mostly squandered. The bread is fresh and delicious complemented by delightful herb and maple butter. The veggie burger was tragic, a store bought microwaveable patty. The coffee was cold and over priced. Asked for some jam and what I got was packets of crappy Smuckers preserves the same crap you get at ihop. So much for Rustic more like mass produced modern. read more

Not a good experience today. We had a group of three families. The food came out in a very random order among all of us, not even close to the sequence it was put in. Three of the kids meals came out last, some 40 min after the first sandwich appeared. We had to take it as a take out. The pre done pizza by the slice came out slowly and the Mac and Cheese was not very good at all. We asked several times about the slow kids meals and only got "it's coming".....but no apparent increase in speed. I doubt very much we'll return ever. read more

My family had lunch at Rustic the other day because we had been told their pizza is amazing. Well it is!!! I'm from New York and consider myself a pizza snob. Their pizza is the real thing! We just discovered Rustic yesterday. It was delicious, spit on for its style, friendly staff, pretty fast service and they had lots of happy customers. Downtown CDA needs great restaurants like this. This is a terrible place for breakfast. The eggs were cold the bacon prrmade, the potatoes were cold and can only be described as dried up prrmade inedible garbage. The oatmeal was microwaved unevenly, and was a cold half cooked congealed mess also inedible. Even the toast was cold stale and tasteless. Coffee was hot but was just Brown water. read more

So I've been to Rustic a few times now, and I have enjoyed my sandwich each time but my experience today doesn't make me want to go back again...shortly after finishing my sandwich, I looked behind the counter only to see an employee cutting some cheese or something without gloves or anything and scraping it off of the knife he was using into some sort of bin that the employees pulled ingredients out of to make my sandwich and my friend's sandwich.....pretty gross if you ask me. The pizza also looked like it had just been sitting on the counter a while, and anyone with a food handlers permit knows that bacteria growth can go crazy when food is left out like that. I'm disappointed that I can't go back out of fear of getting food poisoning. read more

We visited Rustic twice... our first and our last. When we walked in, no one greeted us or even acknowledged we were there. Every table was dirty. We had to clean our own table. The floor was dirty. We were waiting for our friends to arrive, about 10 minutes, and during that time, all but one employee were at the back of the restaurant visiting and playing on their phones. The only employee working was behind the counter. My husband purchased a beer, which was kept in an open case in front of the counter. It was on the warm side and over-priced. Came in awhile ago but they didn't have a yelp account yet to leave a review. We had such a delightful experience when we came in. Our pizza was a little cold because their warmer wasn't working properly so the owner not only heated our slices up but brought us 4 extra hot slices for our troubles along with fresh cookies. Rustic has great pizza and super friendly and helpful staff. I've only had pizza here so far. I've been in a handful of times at all different times of day and I've had great experiences each time. My husband and I are early risers and like to get ahead of the crowds for breakfast. We also like trying new places in the community, and especially those with a local flair. Rustic advertises a 7 AM opening on their website, here on Yelp and on a rather large sign above their shop. Unfortunately that's not correct. We arrived at 7:30 and they were not open. A young man came to the door when I knocked, and stated they don't open until 8:00. I mentioned the sign reflecting 7 AM, to which he said "yeah" and closed the door. Hmmm... Burger was decent, bread was harder than the cement this road is paved with though. Met a lovely couple that introduced themselves as the owners, however, a few hours after my visit i walked past the place to see them both out front drinking beers. Not sure if its just me but its not a good feeling to think that if an emergency were to happen in the building the owners would be (At least) slightly intoxicated. read more

What a great place to eat! The employees were super attentive and helpful as this was our first time. The amount of food you get for your money is awesome. You can totally share one salad between two people and the size of the wings were bigger than usual. The food was made quickly and it was fresh. This says it's a $$ restaurant but I think it's more of a $. Just right. The decor is super chic and cute. Great atmosphere and perfect location. We are going to make a stop here again on our way back from Mount Rushmore, that's how good this little restaurant was. read more
