I played on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. The course is very nature-friendly with a fun layout and good greens. There were lots of birds and rabbits, which made it even more enjoyable.

My favorite LA course. Links style, beautiful, challenging and a reasonable price. What more could you want! Playing again this wknd with 3 friends post thanksgiving. Can't wait. Also the 1 star reviews including someone complaining they didnt cancel outside of the 24 window and had to pay full price, have you not played golf? Hilarious

Only had one round here but goddamn was it a great one. Absolutely a gem of a golf course here in LA. Very unique and vastly different than 90% of the course in the county and that's make it so fun and enjoyable. The links-style layout brings out a different challenge and makes you really think about every approach to the green. The greens themselves were insane, some of them atleast. Insane in a good way though, it definitely took me several reads from all angles and sides to get my break right and even then, I missed a couple of 5-6 footers with the right read. Great pace of play, had people in front of us and behind us. Not once were we waiting for the group in front of us, nor the group behind us were ever tailing too close. Beautiful views in the Moorpark area, very quiet and very clean golf course. Almost feels like a country club. For its price and quality, I'd definitely return. Great food btw from the halfway house!

Certainly the best muni golf in greater LA area. It's not really a competition if you appreciate links style golf.

Fully enforcing no coolers. On a Wednesday day. No one selling beers at the course. Or no cart girl.

Cart girl is beyond rude. I golf here 5-10x a year. No more. Lost my business for being extremely rude and unprofessional.

We were blown away by the catering; the food was excellent, and the portions were huge! With that said, these events are so popular that you have to come early if you want to snag a parking spot, a table and get some food and drinks without waiting. When I mean early, you need to come at least a couple of hours early for a table, if you are lucky. Groups will snag tables and chairs. I did see some people bring there own chairs to sit on the sides. Not sure if this is allowed. While the concert start, food and drink service is slow. And inside there is quite a line. If you don't mind all this you will be rewarded with great concerts and beautiful views of the golf course and mountains.

From the moment you arrive, the clubhouse staff and bar team are welcoming, helpful, and just genuinely cool people. Quick recommendation: grab the turkey sandwich with chipotle aioli -- absolute must-try. One of the things that makes this course so special is the 3 different 9-hole layouts. Each round feels fresh because you're usually playing a different combination, which keeps things interesting and helps the pace of play stay smooth. It's a smart setup and it shows. The course conditions are outstanding. The grass is pristine, the greens roll beautifully, and it's obvious the grounds crew takes real pride in their work. Everything feels well cared for. The carts are awesome too -- full GPS yardages to the pin, Bluetooth connectivity, and speakers so you can play your music while you ride. Small touches like that really elevate the experience. And the scenery? Incredible. The view from Hole 2 on Ridgeline alone is worth the trip -- one of the best views anywhere in the county. The driving range is another highlight since you get to hit off real grass, which makes practice feel like the real thing. Overall: great staff, beautiful course, excellent conditions, fun layout variety, and top-tier amenities. Easy 5/5. Hands down my favorite place to play golf in the county.

The course is open to the public, but also has members like a typical country club, and I liked that many of the members seemed familiar with each other and the staff. Moorpark CC has three 9s, and I had the opportunity to play the Ridgeline and Creekside sides (first time on both). Both courses were in good shape, and the greens were very fast. Ridgeline is definitely the easier of the two courses -- it's generally wider, and there aren't nearly as many forced carries. Number five is a tricky blind tee shot if you've never played the course and don't know where to aim (aka my experience), but the rest of the holes are pretty straight up (though still challenging). Creekside was a beast -- not only is it narrower, but there are hazards on nearly both sides of every fairway, many of which are automatic unplayables (and some of which are unmarked), so your score can balloon quickly -- for reference, I shot +2 on Ridgeline and +11 on Creekside... There are a couple of very cool holes right in a row (a set of a par 4 up the mountain, a drivable par 4 off of a cliff, and a par 3 also off of an elevated tee), which was this side's saving grace for me. My only complaint is that the course doesn't seem to be marshaled. I was playing as a single (with a cart), and was stuck behind a not-very-good and slow foursome, who wouldn't let me play through and were taking their sweet time on every shot.

~ GOLF WITHOUT THE ALLERGIES? I'M IN! ~…read more SVN2 is a great spot for a date, hanging out with friends, celebrating a birthday, or even just having fun solo! I'm not really into golf, but my partner is, so when I first heard about a golf simulator where you hit balls into a giant screen, I didn't expect much. But I was totally surprised! The space is modern and tech-forward, with everything digitally set up. There's no receptionist, but the troubleshooting is quick if you need help. When you book a session, you get a code for entry. As soon as you walk in, it has a trendy, chill vibe. There's a lobby area with chairs, drinks for purchase (sodas/sports drinks), and a TV to pass the time. The venue has four bays (three open and one private), each with a small bar table and stools for seating. There's also a bathroom towards the back labeled the 19th hole. They provide free sets of clubs to use (for all skill levels, both men and women), though most people bring their own. Setting up on the computer is easy, and the technology behind the simulators is seriously impressive, with motion-sensing lidar cameras that track your shots pretty accurately. You get your own player profile, and you can set the skill level-- beginner for me! Each bay also has a TV, so you can play music or watch something while you play. Even though I didn't end up playing all 18 holes, there wasn't a moment where I wasn't entertained - I'd say great if you want to get your partner into your hobby, ha. There's different tiered memberships that you can join and we also saw that there was a league, which I thought was a pretty cool concept. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and it was a fun experience, we will definitely be back! It's super affordable and fun, so I highly recommend checking it out! *HOT TIP: They have golfballs there for use, but if you want to bring your own they need to be new, not scuffed, so it won't damage the screen. **HOTTER TIP: While it's not advertised, you can bring your own food/...other adult bevs your time here ;).
