While practicing at the range, staff members ask players to empty their ball baskets in the middle of a session. This interrupts concentration and disrupts the practice flow. I haven't experienced this at other driving ranges, and I hope GDC can reconsider this practice so players can focus on their swings without interruption. read more

Well kept driving range. Small bucket is $5, large is $8. They have some stalls under an overhang for shade on a hot day. Yard markers out to 70 yards, then 150, 175 and 225. There's a water hazard and a green with sand traps to aim for. The mats have low cut and high cut (a bit like being in the rough). they will seek you a tee to use off the mats for $3. read more

I HAD to write this review....I have been playing golf now off and on for 3 years because I like it and it's challenging..I only have a "starter" bag because I bought it to get started, lol.. Recently, my right leg on my bag started to splay out, and I had to position it to stand correctly each time I set it down..Today I went to 3 different places to try to get them to fix it, but to no avail. I've been hitting buckets of balls at the Golf Complex on and off for about 6 months, so as a last ditch effort, I went there for help. Today I showed up, and Jackson, who works in the pro shop was there.I told him what was going on. HE couldn't help me, but instead of saying there was nothing he could do, he stopped what he was doing and put me on the phone with one of the owners, Diane. She was away doing other things for the driving range,but told me to hit some balls while I was waiting and that she would be there shortly to try to have her husband Paul look at my golf bag. I was hitting balls and then I see some blonde haired lady walking in front of the driving range stands .I'm thinking "Why is this lady walking in front of people hitting golf balls", not realizing that she is carrying MY bag. The stalls were EMPTY and she came up to me and informed me that her husband had fixed my bag! Naturally I was ecstatic!! She told me that I had way TOO MANY balls in my bag, and that's what caused my bag to fail...Her husband Paul fixed it, and Diane"owner with her husband Paul", said lighten the bag of the balls and I should be good to go. I said thank you , how much do I owe you for the labor?? She said "NOTHING"..Happy to have you here, and keep practicing...My jaw dropped, and she wouldn't accept any $$$, but accepted my request to meet her husband and shake his hand..These are 2 of the NICEST people I have EVER met, and no wonder everybody in Moorpark comes here to golf..Diane and Paul are 100% stand up people and treat perfect strangers with the utmost COURTESY..It does my heart good to know that even with the political climate that is going on in our country right now that people like this DO exist...And I won't even mention the fact that that I'm a BLACK man they've never interacted with before until today.. People like Paul and Diane give me HOPE, and I'm definitely going to be working on my swing at the Golf Complex when I get the time...I would not have been able to SLEEP tonight if I didn't write this review...You have top-notch people at Golf Complex, and I want to make sure that I tell the WHOLE WORLD... read more

Nice wide range, every time I've been there there's been a nice breeze, good view and there's cement walls in-between each slot. Good size chipping area and I know there's a putting area but I've never gone there yet so I can't say anything about that. Overall good location and there's a good amount of people there. read more

This is a beautiful facility. The people who work here aren't so beautiful and wonderful in their attitude or how they treat folks who'd like to hit some balls but I guess I'll just consider myself lucky for not having to deal with them for too long. The hubby brought all of us here to hit some balls and have a lil outdoor fun. We found it most fun in the putting green area and on the range where we were able to be a lil competitive and aim for certain target out in the distance. I was shocked at how nicely the grounds and mats were maintained. I'd like to come here again in warmer months. Unfortunately, we left as a bunch of popsicles after some strong cold winds came through here. I forgot what the prices were but my hubby assured me that the rates were excellent. I'd take his word for it. He golfs at a lot of different places. So, he'd know. There were lots of small families here. So, it was nice to not be so uptight about my daughter being with us and her being disruptive to other golfers near by. Parking is free and easy. I didn't ever feel like the facility was over full or that people were too close to one another. I was comfy and felt safe. read more

Awesome training center with sole focus being that of working from the tee box. No full course here. Myriad different setups. Boxes with rough, sand, short, some with tees some without. Very original type of trainig center. read more

Facility itself is good and I come here regularly for practice. I kind of wish there is better management and supervision of the facility itself as this place attracts a lot of unpleasant characters, mainly rowdy teenagers that are here to mess around, often at the expense of people trying to practice. One of these kids was purposely aiming his driver shots at a large target that ricocheted back and almost hit me from 5 stalls away. At one point some kid brought a drone and was flying it into the range and directly over people practicing. I told the worker inside the clubhouse but he is usually a very apathetic character and did nothing. Again, some security or someone to watch the activity of this place would be a great help. Club rentals should also be taken away as this is what attracts more of these rowdy teenagers then needed. read more

Im a regular here at this range, frequenting with my 9 year old daughter every Friday and Monday. Today when I asked to get a large bucket of balls the red haired kid at the register told me to come inside to pay. When I replied I didn't want to come in due to higher the higher risk of contracting Covid INSIDE... I then asked why i could pay with cash outside but not a card he replied "Youre just fucking annoying, why are you here if you can't follow our rules.. GO ON AND GET" Man... great spot to hit balls, but the kids working here are pathetic. read more

Great practice facility. The range offers a variety of mat surfaces, sloped lies, even bunkers. The balls are new(er) and apparently not flight restricted like other ranges, which makes a huge difference for dialing in carry yardage. There are a variety of targets and hazards that keep things interesting up to about 225 yards. After that, from where I was in the middle, you can't see anything land downhill. The staff was professional, the prices reasonable and the parking plentiful. There is a fantastic chipping area that offers different levels of rough and angles, though the green there is pretty severely sloped. It is still a great area to practice pitching/chipping and far beyond comparable ranges. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the putting green. Don't get me wrong, it is smooth, quick, in great shape and is a fantastic place to work on reading greens. But there doesn't seem to be a level putt over a couple of feet to be found anywhere on that green. So trying to work on fundamentals is a little tougher, as all putts require an often-significant adjustment for slope, especially longer ones. It is great to have the ability to practice putts with 15 feet or more of break, but a flat area would be nice as well. All said and done, this facility is great, and probably the most full-featured facility around, offering what a true practice facility should. read more

This is a great spot for driving golf balls. The course is well appointed with several targets and yard markers. They have nice launching pads for you to take your best shot. The extra large 170 ball bucket it like $15 and is a great value. There is a deal if you buy three you get one free. The staff is pretty laid back and are not stuffy. There are a lot of stalls so you shouldn't have to wait at all. I did have trouble seeing how far my drives were going. The 300 yard marker is easy to see but the down hill landscape make it difficult to see if you make it or hit beyond the marker. read more

Great place for beginners, intermediates, and experts to practice, learn, and train. The staff members that work there are always nice and very helpful. You can pay to have an instructor if you like.They open at 7:00am and close at 10:00pm. To rent a small bucket that contains 35 golf balls it costs $5.00. To rent a medium bucket that contains 65 golf balls is $8.00 To rent a large bucket that has 110 golf balls is $12.00. To rent an extra large bucket that has 180 golf balls is $19.00. You can also buy more and save such as buying 3 small buckets and getting the fourth free. Same deal applies to the medium, large, and extra large buckets. Rental clubs are $3.00 each. The shortest range is 25 and the longest range to hit the golf ball is 200 yards. There are 30 covered stalls and an additional 42 hitting bays. You can always expect to have a great time when coming here, it's truly a beautiful place to enjoy yourself, with families, and friends. read more

I'm in agreement with a previous poster regarding the complex. I had been going quite frequently and purchased the keys that were expensive but told they wouldn't expire. Due to a myriad of life experiences ranging from illness, births, deaths etc...too many too explain to the very rude owner manager (I'm am not good with confrontation so couldn't eloquently plea my case). When I saw ownership had changed previously I ran in to check if my keys worked and was told yes and they don't expire. Cut to today. I finally visit with my 6yo I was denied use of these keys. Then was lectured on how a business works and when one closes you lose out etc...500$ or so gone...my kids and I will take our business elsewhere. Sinaloa and Los Robles where the customer service is better. Long time resident here in Simi will not be returning. read more

I used to love this place. I've spent over a thousand dollars here over the past 5 years or so on the golf buckets and prepaid golf keys, but I refuse to spend money there now. The facility is under new ownership, and the new owner has no idea how to run a business. Right before they changed owners, i purchased a golf key for $500 and i still have about $400 left on it. I took a break from golf because i had school, and when i came back, they refused to let me use it. I'm really not sure what there reasoning behind this is. I've purchased many keys in the past, and would have purchased more in the future when my old one ran out; now they have lost a customer for life. People that buy golf keys probably take golf seriously. They are willing to spend a lot of money to practice. You guys are screwing over your best customers. Missing out on $400 vs potentially thousands is a really smart move. read more

I'm giving Golf Develo0ment Complex three stars- which is a combination of 5 stars for the daytime, and 1 star for the evening. The facility range and putting green are absolutely top notch, with plenty of targets and various surfaces from which to hit. They also have lights, and therein lies the problem. If you go to hit at night, bring only clubs that cam go 100 yards max. The lighting in the facility ONLY points down. 50-60 yards out, and you lose complete sight of your ball. This is a real shame, considering the premium prices that are charged. The staff is incredibly friendly. My only other gripe is the Covid policy; you can pay cash at the window only, you have to go inside to pay with a card, which could be easily fixed.. just get a longer wire for your machine. Minor gripe, yes, but over time it becomes a nuiscance. I hope the facility can improve the lighting. As of now it's pointless to hit thereat night. read more
